Myinlawsdidthisthebastards, I would rather not comment on a personal case.

I would ignore urban any one who literally takes the story of Adam and Eve will not be open to any sort of discussion about why God does certain things

Its only going to upset people

urbanfox1337 · 09/05/2016 13:58

No because the answer might hurt you.

Wow urban I thought you were joking! GrinGrinGrin

Poor love

Dakin1 · 09/05/2016 15:07

Exactly the same reasons as you OP and also I'm gay... Didn't fancy being celibate all my life.

MessyBun247 · 09/05/2016 15:17

Knowledge takes you further away from 'gods word'? You say that like it's a bad thing Smile

god didn't write the bible, men did. Cruel, homophobic, sexist men. So to think that what's written in the bible is the word of god is a bit Hmm

Knowledge is power, we should feel free to question things that don't make any sense. Any religion that tells you not to question it's teachings and to blindly follow, I mean, does that not sound like a cult? Being called a sheep, or part of a flock, and being proud of that? It's a bit scary.

I'm agnostic, quite spiritual and open minded. I think there is probably some kind of high power, however it won't be anything like religion portrays it to be. I could be wrong though Halo

Urban Why does God want to be blindly obeyed? Why does God demand servitude? It sounds incredibly narcissistic.

Why did God almost kill my baby at birth?

urbanfox1337 · 09/05/2016 16:07

I can't answer more because I was making ridiculous points to show the stupidity of religion. I am not a believer in anything supernatural and thought it was obvious I was being facetious.

FutureGadgetsLab · 09/05/2016 16:11

Urban unfortunately I've encountered people who genuinely believe that stuff hence the confusion!

Some one told me that it ws good that those little ones were killed at Dumblane as they went to heaven innocent

Bastards I think they were implying the "it's punishment for your sins" type thinking.

urbanfox1337 · 09/05/2016 19:42

Myinlawsdidthisthebastards, I apologise. As soon as soon as I read your personal comment I realise I had went to far.

Natsku · 09/05/2016 20:29

Thank fuck, I thought at first you were playing devil's advocate, thanks I started to think you were serious and got quite irate.

urbanfox1337 · 09/05/2016 21:22

I was brought up in a religious family, was often punished for not praising god enough. church/bible study 3 times a week etc. But for some reason I never believed, no one would ever answer my questions about the massive herd of elephants in the room...

Its funny because all my large family still believe, my parents just don't understand what is wrong with me, its not that they disagree its like I am saying there is no sun in the sky.

greebstreebling · 09/05/2016 21:28

I had an arranged marriage and that pretty much caused an obstacle I couldn't get over. I couldn't see how God would let someone suffer like that. Incredibly selfish of me, thinking back on it now.

Shariamom · 11/05/2016 11:40

If you don't believe in God, then where did the universe come from??
How could it be created without a creator???
How do you explain things such embryology accurately described in the Koran hundreds and hundreds of years before any scientist could ever get near to proving it right??
The Bible has changed many times over the years and should rightly be discredited.
The Koran was perfect the day it was revealed to the almighty prophet (pbuh) and has never changed, not even by one word in all that time.
That is further proof of its divinity, that not even man could change it.
Did you know, when it was revealed to the world, people could not get over how beautiful the words were and how perfect it was. Yet it was written by unlearned men.
Poets spent decades studying poetry at the time. Muhammad (pbuh) and his followers were not poets, they had no poetry education, therefore further proof of the divinity of the Koran.
A further point, the passages in the Koran were so beautiful, competitions were held at the time for poets to write their own passages more beautiful than the Koran.
Not one poet, despite their decades of study could come close.
I'd argue no man since has ever come close.
I urge you to visit your local mosque, and open yourselves up to the beauty and righteousness that the Koran and Islam have to offer
Ameen
