Hi All

This thread (and several others) are about us sharing and learning together on our spiritual journey. It is an open space for open minds, so please feel free to come and chat and share your thoughts/stories.

The main book we have been discussing is The Celestine Prophecies book by James Redfield.

Poor little mites what they only have to go through with their teeth. I hope the powders help her and you.

papillon · 16/04/2004 12:04

Helsbels.. glad you are having a good day. I had thought of doing some reiki by intention with you for dd.. but I am now concerned by you not always feeling the best. So I think I will just keep on with level 1 attempts.

I was really fascinated by your comment about acknowledging spirits. I have one in the house at the moment I think. I am always think I would jump out of my skin if one appeared so I probably scare them away.
You don´t remember where u read it? They always seem to be coming and going.

xx

Have u had anything 'happen' papillon or do u just feel the spirit?

Helsbels · 16/04/2004 12:22

don't worry about my levels - reiki is a brilliant boost to the system - I'd be happy to help if you wanted, Papillon. can't remember where I read it - it was years ago now but the gist was that you should say hello and if you know who it is then talk as if they were there and alive and not just there. I know this spirit is my friend - when I think of her the wet wet wet song they played at her funeral comes on the radio - or something by status quo!! I thank her for looking after my babies and sometimes shout at her for leaving me like she did and at that time and ask her why she didn't come to me ( Iwas the last person she spoke to except her H). I probably shouldn't get cross at her but suicide leaves you like that - a bit angry sometimes. I think she is the only spirit that visits me - I have buried a lot of friends over the years but she was the one who needed me most. Sorry - this is a good day, honest - it is not painful to talk about her - it just makes me a bit mad and a bit sad sometimes!

papillon · 16/04/2004 12:42

Sometimes i get brief images like I have caught him (its a him I feel since I have been in Switzerland). Sometimes its a feeling.
When I was just reading your post Helsbels something cracked in the bathroom and that is the location the feeling is most strong or prevalent. I get quite afew noises like that happening.
I will be more welcoming and see what happens.

I will email you Helsbels re the reiki.

Hi all. Sorry, not often I can get on net during the day so conversation with me might be a bit stilted!

Re spirits - don't ever worry if you sense/hear/smell spirit. Quietly acknowledge their presence and ask what they want. You can speak out loud if you want, or just do it in your mind.
Try not to 'over' react. I see things out of the corner of my eye, like a shadow flitting by, or sense someone behind me. Turning suddenly trying to catch them never works! Now I just speak quietly to them, and if they want to communicate they will find a way. I also know when someone is trying to 'get through' as I get a buzzing in my ear (very annoying, like tinnitus) which wont go away until I acknowledge them or get out my pencils and sketch them.

papillon · 16/04/2004 14:36

Hi
Thats exactly how it is for me Snugs. But i am tired today and cannot think let alone function properly!

How do you notice that they have given u a message?

Thanks for the info.

OP posts:
Snugs · 16/04/2004 14:42

Well they pretty much shout at me!

Odd things will just jump into my head - and by odd I mean they have no direct relevance to me, what I'm doing at the time or the conversation I might be having - just totally random comments like someone has shouted out loud and it drowns everything else out. If I try to ignore it it will just keep happening. So I sort of say 'ok, I heard you, anything else or can I get on now?'

Luckily, my dh is pretty used to it so if I suddenly ask him to stop talking cos I need to concentrate he is fine about it. Can be annoying if I am with someone else tho! Other times, I just know I have to draw - so out come my pencils and off I go.

Snugs · 16/04/2004 14:43

Oh and if you are tired and can't handle it, just tell them! They tend to get persistant if you try to ignore them, so just ask them to come back when it is more convenient and they are usually pretty obliging

Helsbels · 16/04/2004 14:45

Snugs - glad you said that - I quite often say - ok - I've got the message- you're there!!

Snugs · 16/04/2004 14:48

Helsbels - it sort of becomes 2nd nature after awhile. Trouble is, I sometimes don't realise I have spoken out loud and you can get some strange looks from people if you do it in public

papillon · 16/04/2004 14:54

(....snaps self out of daydream) must go, dh back with kids. Hope to chat again soon.

sibble · 16/04/2004 22:00

snugs - was interested in the ringing in your ears when spirits are trying to communicate, the best explanation I have ever come up with is like tuning a radio in, you have her the voices but can't make out the words, sounds through thte fuzz. now I know I'm not mad, sounds similar to you......

Snugs · 16/04/2004 22:43

hi sibble - yes, sounds pretty much the same. Sometimes it is like a physical tingling sensation, almost pins and needles, others times it is an indistinct buzzing noise. Then when I acknowledge it, any message comes through as a total intrusion on my thoughts.
It is good to talk to someone who understands the sensation - it is quite hard to explain if you haven't experienced it.

juniper68 · 17/04/2004 09:44

Oh wow, I'm so pleased you've said about the ear thing. I get this a lot and recently it's intensifying. Also get coldness on that side and tingling/numbness. I really need to know how to protect myself though as I don't want any bad spirits coming into my energy.
It's great to have people on the same wavelength. I can talk to my mum and DH about this and a couple of close friends but my friends at church would be mortified.

Morning all btw I'm off out now to take DS2 to a party. Hope you all have a good day, talk later x
