Choosing your own reality is important but what external influences have shaped your reality.

World events
Local occurances
People on street corners handing out leaflets
A good book
A smile
Having a baby or two or three

So which ones?
And did it just influence you or did it influence others?

I am influenced by noises and cracking sounds in the house
and to make matter worse LOL
I had a favourite tram no. 755 but it disappered recently

needless to say I am most concerned

I am totally here.
I am very close - and am glad to be having this wee repertoire with u.

I am probably trying to lighten the mood as the 2nd insight is a heavy one.
We can make light of a situation - but the gravity of today political climate and life out there for the majority of people is horrific compared to us lucky few with a minor daily mishaps.
Perspective is a rainbow of colours for me

I still need to heal my stuff. I so FEEL epathetically the plight of others, but Im not sure I can take anything on to help others yet , who are obviously in a more dire situation than mine. I work hard to count my blessings and be happy and joyous with what I have rather than wanting more clothes, better car, better life, nicer hair and ad infinitum!!I am very influneced by the social growth of my religion and how it has made me be like this.

Have you done any of the excersises in the experiential book?? I have just done the past preoccupations one!! Oh boy I need to work on that counting blessings thing.

I do not want to exclude others chatting here , its just so wonderful to share insights with another.

I am doing the insights as we have been discussing them here

want to take my time and after wot happened the other and feeling bummed out...
have started ready a novel instead

I think many people in my religion have a preoccupation with looking good and posessing many Luxury goods. If you dont look this way then u are often not accepted. Despite this I believe I am well prestented, but I tend to steer clear of this kind of person. The problem is I think others percive me as this kind of person!!! Much of it may be with many hundreds of years of persecution and wnating to rise above this and be a strong and formidable race. I just think its gone to far the other way now and materialism and sucess materialistically is the only importance.I grew up with people like this.

The past preoccupations one is part of the 2nd insight. I am also not moving on further than the 2nd. Until we all together feel we have discussed all we need to with the 2nd.

I'm v tired today as went out to dinner last night at friends.....say no more

Funny thing is we were talking about goths and what goth music we liked and also discussing a trip to the Black sheep brewery. A coinicindence??

Influences : My dad was v short tempered and my mum is quite calm. I'm a mix of both tho trying to become latter. She's the reason I'm a total unsnob, hate snobbery with a passion. My DH is one of my best influences,he gives me strengh and confidence. Also close friends. I'm able to sift the grain from the shaft more so now, where as in my my youth I gravitated towards the 'wrong' friends.

Off to church at 10, I was supposed to go to the 5.30am one but alas no.

Hello Juniper68 looking forward to getting to know you too. How weird about you conversation last night and the posts on here. After reading all thes yesterday decided to introduce dd to selected SoM tracks think she liked it. My parents influenced me like you Juniper quick tempered dad and placid mum also influenced by this desire to do the complete opposite of what any one wanted me to do
