There are so many more things we can talk about under this heading. So for those interested & those who arent sure , but would like to put there thoughts in to. I have started a discussion. Tell us what experiences you have had, whether it be on your own or with the help of a therapy or a reader (of all kinds) or whatever way it has come. Recommend books or therapies that have been transformative or have set light bulbs off !!! Or even that it freaks you out a bit!!

I havent seen a ghost on the white ethereal sense. But I have been in a trance state and spoken with my late grandfather. Weirdly it was on a telephone and I could see him too. It was as if the telephone helped with the communication!!

Papillon you must tell us the story, please!!

Well for example the blinding white light at the end of the tunnel that people report seeing during near death experiences. airforce pilots who train in a centrafuge see the same phenomanon. It is to do with the way the brain reacts to certian physical conditions.
Look I really think I should keep out of this thread now as I understand it is not an is it/isn't it true type discussion and I certainly do not have all the answers.
I will read it with interest and an open(ish) mind, though

Kundalini I had always thought was a good release.
When mine happened I felt the energy and then remembered that it is better to send out through the top of the head... so let it travel up and viola... it was like a big bit of sunshine coming out ... floated out of the yoga class to a lecture (at uni at the time) but could concentrate on the lecture and had to leave... still floating -- really it seemed like I was not walking.
Did not find out about the Kundalini explanation until a couple of years later.

papillon · 24/03/2004 15:46

I would quite like it you stayed Suzywong ... very interesting what you are saying.
The human brain can play many tricks I agree.

Like when people see an accident or incident.. often they say quite variable things... apparently

papillon · 24/03/2004 15:49

Field of Dreams

I love search engines

suzywong · 24/03/2004 15:50

lavender1 · 24/03/2004 15:51

my sister, who was very close to her aunt felt a cold shiver go up her spine one afternoon and then said "Oh, Aunty Madeline's just died"...her time of death was the time of feeling cold.(she really didn't make it up)

Papillion, are you an intuitive/ sixth sense person with this kundalini thing, I mean how did you make it happen?

melsy · 24/03/2004 15:51

Sounds intruiging Suzy. I also keep an open mind to scientific explanations.

I have had the same experince papaillon when I am put under hypnosis, for my hypnotherapy. Makes me feel joy and other emotions. I find it quite a good release of things.

I will post some links I found when searching the sprititual reason for my panic attack.

Just remebered another on
In Chinses culture spirits of the dead return as powerful odours, often connected withthat person's life.
Is this becasue the olfactory sense is the one most closely linked to memory?
Are you thinking so hard of that person you feel you can smell them? Do the signals get mixed up in the brain.
This actually happened to me just after my father-in-law passed away and I don't know if it was 'true' but it was a very real and non'scary experience.

lavender1 · 24/03/2004 15:58

what dh with a coin on a piece of string? being serious, as would love to be able to pass this thing on to friends and rels!

papillon · 24/03/2004 15:58

Re Kundalin
I did not make IT happen... IT happened to me.
But I was doing yoga for about the 2nd or 3rd time - and it was during the yoga meditation.

melsy · 24/03/2004 15:59

Will the clairvoyant described grandfathers smell very very accurately & she new that I smell this when he comes to me. It is a musky sweet manly smokey smell. He used to smoke cuban cigars and pipes and it had the most amazing smell.

Interesting Suzy. Why did you not think you could talk about this.

OP posts:
suzywong · 24/03/2004 16:00

Oh no compunction about talking about it Melsy, just didn't want to sound as if I was poo-pooing the more "new agey' theories.
I love a chat, me, as you may be aware

melsy · 24/03/2004 16:01

No no & no not at all lavender. Its all about breathing and feeling each part of then body relax. Visualisation of good and safe places. It is amazing.

Ooh suzywong, that must have been comforting for you after travelling back from my father's funeral suddenly had a smell of incense (that very strong smell in church...btw he had a church funeral and it was used...he was also religious) a few seconds later it had gone...and when got out of car 30 seconds later no fires (was dark)...there MUST be something in it...did you have any other signs?

melsy · 24/03/2004 16:03

yes like u papillon it just happened & I was so amazed I cried. Did you feel the white light go through you from the body up thorugh the head. Is it related to all the chakras vibrating and flowing??

OP posts:
lavender1 · 24/03/2004 16:08

so if you close your eyes, picture every muscle in body relaxing and then a beautiful sunny beach, quiet and peaceful for 30 minutes or so, it might happen (find it hard to meditate you see as brain always thinking...so any advice very welcome).

melsy · 24/03/2004 16:14

lavender Dont sit waiting for anything to happen and knock you out from the experience otherwise you wont fully relax. I was told by the clairvoyant(my spirits were telling her!!) I do this to much and it stops the body accepting relaxation. Dont try and make something happen just concentrate on the breathing and calming aspect ONLY.

OP posts:
papillon · 24/03/2004 16:15

another apparently

but apparently achieving a Kundalini state is quite difficult and rarely achieved twice.

I did not release any emotions but just felt really fantastic and relaxed.

melsy · 24/03/2004 16:16

& is doent have to be a sunny beach , its a picture of someewere special to you that you have been to or would like to go to that makes you feel happy, secure ,calm & joyous.

lavender1 · 24/03/2004 16:27

thanks, will try tonight and let you know how get on(like you say will probably end up falling asllep).

wobblyknicks · 24/03/2004 16:31

I'm not really into a lot of spiritual stuff but meditation is one of the things I fully subscribe to. When I left UH the only way I got to sleep at night was meditating about fields and white rooms etc.

Also love the whole thing of having certain rocks to bring you health or luck, or wearing certain symbols. It isn't because I particularly believe it - it never seems to make much difference, I just love all mythology type stuff and it makes me feel better just because of that. As long as something makes you feel better, who cares whether it really works or is a placebo?

wobblyknicks · 24/03/2004 16:33

My favourite meditation scene is walking through about 4 white rooms and into a picture of a field filled with purple tulips (one of my favourite flowers) in the middle of the night but its really brightly moonlit and really warm at the same time. Then I can just lie back and look at the stars.

Sorry, just thought I'd post that!

lou33 · 24/03/2004 16:35

Wk, that has made feel sooo much better, and I am not trying to meditate.

i love tulips too.
