A new Christian prayer thread, just in time for Easter!

Welcome to our new prayer thread... just in time for Holy Week and Easter.

This is a safe and supportive place of prayer, where regulars, occasional visitors and lurkers, committed Christians and those just dipping a toe into the water are all equally welcome. Come and leave a prayer, tell us what's going on in your life, bring your worries, hopes, fears and joys to God, and know that you will be prayed for.

We pray, in particular, for...

... amberlight, for her work raising awareness of the ways in which we can work to make life easier for our autistic friends, and for her to know love and acceptance wherever she goes;

... Badvoc and her family, as they grieve for her dad and for her aunt - this has been a very tough time for the family... may spring bring them happier times;

... BlackEyedSusan, for all the many things which she has to juggle in her life as a single parent; in particular, we pray for her mum's health, and for both her DC to receive the support that they need at school, and for her to feel welcomed, accepted and supported at her church;

... BlessedAssurance, for breast-feeding to settle down for her following the birth of her baby son, for her relationship with her extended family (and in particular her MIL and her bonkers baby-naming ideas ), and for her parents who are far away;

... CharlotteCollins, for her new life as a single mum - may she be happy and fulfilled and supported in it;

... DontstepontheMomeRaths, for her life as a single mum, for support for her to do all the things she'd like to be able to do, for her DC, for difficult relationships at work, and for the wonderful work she does through her church supporting people going through separation and divorce;

... DutchOma, as she grieves for Bob, that she may find peace of mind, love and support at this time;

... Gingercurl, for her relationship with her DH, for the final 'tweaks' to her thesis, and for friendship for her DS;

... ALittleFaith, for baby Faithlet as she approaches her first birthday, for Faith's work to bring her joy and not exhaustion, and for her to find happiness and fulfilment in her church;

... jan2014 for her to understand what the right thing to do is vis-a-vis her relationship with her DH, and for her to have the courage to do what needs to be done, and to find support in doing it; also for her new church to be a place where she finds love and support and welcome;

... JugglingFromHereToThere, for her sister and her family as they grieve the loss of Juggling's nephew;

... Kaykat, giving thanks that she is now settled and happy in her new home with her DS, and continuing to pray for her situation, that she receive the moral and practical support she needs for herself and her DS

... MadHairDay, for her health to improve this spring and for her to stay out of hospital, and for health, friendship, and freedom from bullying for MHD's DD;

... PandaG, as she and her family grieve the loss of her mum; and for

... PositiveAttitude, praying for the right outcome for PA's DH as he decides between a career opportunity at home and a return to Cambodia; also praying for PA's parents health, for her DD3 and DGS as they move into their own home, and for her other three DDs and one DS in their various situations; and finally praying for peace for PA herself and - whatever happens work-wise in the UK and/or abroad - for God to provide for her and her family.

We pray also for all regular and occasional visitors, and those we haven't seen for a while, including: boxofdelights, bountyicecream Bluetinkerbell, CheerfulYank, cloutiedumpling, EasyCompadre, FairPhyllis, fluffieduckie, FriendOfDorothy, GoodbyeRubyTuesday, harbinger, JakeBullet, ktef, LollipopViolet, MaryBS, NeverKnowinglyUnderstood, niminypiminy, notquiteagrownup, PloddingDaily, revivingshower, RoomForALittleOne, saintsalive, SchrodingersFerret, SEStheBrave, Soozi, SunshinemMum, thegreenheartofmanyroundabouts, thehorridestmumintheworld, trish5000, weegiemum, youretoastmildred, ZingSweetApple, and zulubump, and for anyone I've forgotten to name-check (don't take it personally, please!). And we pray for those who read and pray but don't post, for those who need our prayers but are afraid or too uncertain to post them, and for all those known to us in our own lives who need God's love.

Keep Your people, Lord, in the arms of Your embrace.
Shelter them under Your wings.
Be their light in darkness.
Be their hope in distress.
Be their calm in anxiety.
Be strength in their weakness.
Be their comfort in pain.
Be their song in the night. Amen

madhairday · 10/06/2014 16:50

aaagh BES that's so annoying :(

Who;s brother Yun, PA?

We had a really lovely Pentecost worship last night. really encountered God and still buzzing. love it. :)

Dutchoma · 10/06/2014 17:34

Oh here, I've found him.

DontstepontheMomeRaths · 10/06/2014 22:54

I can barely catch my breath with life at the moment. Conference Friday, poss news article Sat being published I was interviewed for, work, kids etc. I need a rest.

Worried about my DD a lot too. She's struggling at school with mean kids, making friends, school work and regulating her emotions at night as it all comes out in other ways when she's tired. Usually at me and I don't always handle it well. I need prayers but where to start?

Love evenings like that MHD. How are things with your DD now?

PositiveAttitude · 11/06/2014 01:18

Had an amazing evening! Yes, Brother Yun is the Chinese man who's biography is called Heavenly Man. Wonderful time tonight with powerful moving of the Holy Spirit. Just arrived home now.......and I can't sleep. I think I might suffer in the morning!

BlackeyedSusan · 11/06/2014 21:16

Bluetinkerbell · 12/06/2014 14:32

Dutchoma · 12/06/2014 15:34

So am I!!

Questionoffaith · 12/06/2014 22:17

hi everyone. Just reading through and praying for you all. And BES hope your new fridge is fab and your new car is even fabber when you get it. Sounds like you are due a break! Praying especially for those with issues with dcs and school.

BlackeyedSusan · 13/06/2014 20:45

I am busy clearing up the kitchen and hallway. there is so little space to put things.

Dutchoma · 13/06/2014 22:03

We had a brilliant visit from Blue and her dd3, who is indeed very darling. They even picked some raspberries, although dd3 may have eaten quite a few as well.

BlackeyedSusan · 13/06/2014 23:48

big towel stuffed in bottom of freezer. all the boxes out still packed with food. (freezer ones holding the contents of the fridge. )

I am having a wobble about the car.

BlackeyedSusan · 14/06/2014 08:52

I have a fridge freezer in the hall. It has widdled all across the floor. thankfully I have the towel ready to mop up. I would not have been able to mop if I had waited for the men to walk it across the kitchen. the man downstairs would have been very annoyed.

I have put the children's school bags and shoes in the drying room.

MaryBS · 14/06/2014 09:38

I need to catch up when I get chance...

Bluetinkerbell · 14/06/2014 10:14

I managed to keep some raspberries aside for DH and me, DO otherwise the girls would have munched them all Wink
Safe travels today to drop of your lovely knitting! :)

amberlight · 14/06/2014 13:17

Still praying through...

jan2014 · 15/06/2014 06:19

dd is not going down to bed these days ive had two 4.30 starts this week and two 5am starts and i can barely function.

DontstepontheMomeRaths · 15/06/2014 07:28

Is it the light jan?

I've had to resort to desperate measures as DS was doing that. I've suckered up a gro anywhere blind. Pitch black in there now. Even a chink of light and he decides it's time to get up.

Praying for sleep.

jan2014 · 15/06/2014 09:03

i do have black out blind stuck on to the window it seems as dark as normal. i have no idea what is causing this. my mental capacity seems zero at the minute. i feelt guilty for not going to church today, or doing anything for that matter. dh picked dd up there now for awhile for fathers day, and spoke so loud ie 'heeeelllooooo how are you' at the top of his voice to dd all round the whole street. i stupidly said not to speak so loudly as it was still quite early in the morning, and caused a huge argument.

jan2014 · 15/06/2014 09:04

i have to remember not to have an opinion on anything. and not say anything that might be offensive to him.

jan2014 · 15/06/2014 09:27

probably my fault actually. yes its a very quiet street but he has the right to speak loud/shout if he wants to, plus i am exhausted and oversensitive at the minute. off to bed.

DontstepontheMomeRaths · 15/06/2014 09:54

It's not your fault jan. Don't blame yourself for his unreasonable reaction.

Hope you get some good sleep now, no one functions well on no sleep x

BlackeyedSusan · 15/06/2014 10:14

Ex is one for using a big voice in the foyer at all hours. it echoes up and down their really loudly. he wil not be quiet either. try mentioning it to your nice neighbour... I ask him to be quiet but he does not care. it will get round that it is not your responsibility.

today is the great launch the fridge day. I turned the old one off two days ago. the milk is still frozen and keeping things cold. the peas and sweetcorn were still almost frozen last night.

unfortunatley I had to eat up some of the strawberries that were at risk of going soft in their boxes under the washing. such a shame! Grin
