Hey LWTG.

Glad the BBQ went well... isnt it great when the kids behave?! lol

Praying hard for that lady... I think it is a wonderful thing that the medical profession now embraces the fact that it is good for a mother to see her baby after it is born even if it has gone to live with our Father. My mum had a baby in '69 who died when he was an hour old, she had a CS under general anesthetic so didnt get to see him, she says it is the biggest regret of her life, because she had never seen that part of her. Small consolation, but thankyou Lord that she can find some small peace in seeing her child.

Sorry for the long post, feel strongly about these things.

PandaG · 16/07/2006 22:14

Hi all

Just a flying visit before bed.

Longway - will pray for the lady losing a 19 weeker. How sad. How do you cope with looking after people in that situation?

Pudmog, glad you enjoyed your girly trip, praying the sickness abates

Mary - sounds as though your training went well, keep us posted! how is your nephew doing?

CD - how have you coped without your DH?

Xavielli, what a lovely day, Stomp sounds great!

Just finished all the thankyous for the school BBQ, now on to the next thing!

xxx

CaptainDippy · 16/07/2006 22:29

Hi all! Wow it has been a hot one here today - Phew! DH is safely back in the fold. He had a great weekend, but is very tired now, bless him. I coped ok - it certainly got better as the weekend went on. Poor DD2 has been very grumpy today though, which has been difficult. Just so glad DH is back now - Thank you for your prayers.

lwtg - What specific job is it that you actually do?? I am not sure I would have the strength to support and care for a lady losing her 19 week old baby. God has clearly given you a special gift and vocation. I am praying for her and her DH/DP and any other children / family / friends involved. So very

Well I had best go to bed - busy week ahead of me. [hugs] and prayers to all. xxxx

Pudmog - I am so glad someone is having a baby on this thread. I think it is very exciting - and makes me very broody!

OP posts:
longwaytogo · 16/07/2006 22:52

I work on a gynae ward as a health care assistant and we can have anything from miscarriage, fertility, termination, hysterectomy, mastectomy and a range of other things inbetween. Most are slef caring so my job is making sure they have everything they need, this lady didnt need much apart from odd comode today but she knew she would probably miscarry - incompetant cervix, once she could feel baby moving in her vagina I wasn't really involved as trained staff were but she had been so positive all day and bless her even after she still had a smile and a sense of humour. Bet it will hit her like a hammer soon though.

CaptainDippy · 17/07/2006 08:33

HCA's are so invaluable - you do such an important job, lwtg! Praise God for people like you who are willing to do such a caring role!! Poor poor lady, praying for her - she sounds amazing!!

afternoon all and what a beautiful one it is!

I've made a few noted whilest reading the thread but please forgive me if i've forgotten anything!

CD - i hostes a TMB party the stuff is lovely, i even thought about becoming a rep

MaryBS - prayers for your nephew and that the dreams will stop

Xavi- prayers fro your sister and your family

LWTG - prayers for your friends, you nan and grandad and the strength to do your job.

Ok requests here from me:
i am still positive that the interview outcome was the right one for me, but it now leaves me in the position that my job contract runs out on the 31st of Aug and i jointly support our household, DH and i both work part time and bring in the same amount of money, so if i end up unemployed things are going to be very tight! so please pray that something comes along PDQ!

longwaytogo · 17/07/2006 16:39

Ok power of prayer does wonderful things: DD has just come home from school and has today been told that they will not be running RS as an option for yr 10 as there is not enough to do it. There are 6 wanting to do this as GCSE. Am ringing school, chair of governers and LEA in the morning but prayers can work wonders thanks in advance girls.

CaptainDippy · 17/07/2006 17:49

Evening all! Has been a lovely and exhausting day - went out with my friend and the DD's to celebrate friend's Birthday, great fun!!

Defintely praying for you Katzg - praying something comes up before end of Aug. Scary stuff. God will provide - trust it!

Praying about the situation with RS - they should be allowed to do it, even if there are not very many of them. There were 9 in my GCSE RS class, I think.

Loads to do - best rush!!

OP posts:
MaryBS · 18/07/2006 03:57

Katzg - praying that something comes up for you workwise. What sort of work do you do?

lwtg- praying you can sort out some way of your DD being able to do the GCSE course she wants. Thanking God that you can help people in your job and praying that He gives you strength.

CD - glad you had a good day.

Pudmog - glad it went well at church.

No news on the nephew front - DH hasn't spoken to his family. Please keep praying for him though.

God Bless!

CaptainDippy · 18/07/2006 08:04

Morning all!!

DH has the morning off work, hurrah!! I like having him at home....

Let us know when anything progresses on the nephew front MaryBS, continuing to pray for the poor lad. xx

Could you pray for some friends of a friend? They are a very sweet couple who have been married five years. They are both mid-twenties and the man has cancer of the adrenal glands. He went into remission about six months ago and they celebrated by going on holiday to South Africa. On their return, the cancer returned and has now spread to a lot of his major organs. They cannot operate as they are sure he would die on the operating table. The chemo isn't working and they have resigned themselves to the fact that they won't be growing old together. I just want to cry. I can't imagine losing my DH, espcially now while we are both so young. They don't have any children. Please pray for strength and to know God's love - and to be so convicted of the wonderful place the DH will be going when he dies. (They are both committed Christians.) She would like people to pray that he goes quickly too. She said she would rather he went now than suffered for many more years. She hates seeing him like this and she is exhausted too. It is just so sad. Thank you for praying. xx

Flying in to say hello and catch up with you all. We're fine apart from a rather nasty tummy bug working its way through the family. Yuk! However, it seems like a 24 hour one, so quickly gone. Special prayers for you all.

CaptainDippy · 18/07/2006 09:54

Hi LWTG! Yuk to tummy bug, hoping it is over soon!! Have you had it yet??

How is everyone else?? Any news from anyone??

[hugs] and prayers. xxxx

ok progress on dd and RE. They can't justify running it from a management perspective but after speaking to head of RE she is willing to top up the short course to GCSE level in what they call keyskill time that they are giving pupils next year. Not a clue what other pupils will be doing in this time but says that dd is commited, lovely and hard working and because of church background not a problem to top them up to GCSE level fairly easily. God is good. Plus it means she comes out of it with an extra GCSE.

Not sure how Nan and Grandad are doing am going to ring my mum in a bit and find out.

Hope you are all coping with this heat.

Xavielli · 18/07/2006 19:03

Just a quick question - I can say in all honesty that I wont be bothered in the least by your answers, so be honest!

When you hear "Born Again" Do you think "Freak" ?

longwaytogo · 18/07/2006 20:38

no

longwaytogo · 18/07/2006 20:39

why?

Xavielli · 18/07/2006 22:27

Just a couple of comments on another thread. ie "Bloody born-agains"

So we've found Jesus and want label ourselves as such! Praise God! I have no shame about my church or my faith!

Was just wondering what people thought. I can honestly say before I found Jesus that I would have thought it all a little wierd!

MaryBS · 18/07/2006 22:32

I saw that. I would consider myself "born again". I've also had some pretty weird experiences from people who have said they are born again too

Takes all sorts I'd go as far as to say Jesus takes all sorts too

Try not to let it get to you - you are witnessing in His name.

CaptainDippy · 18/07/2006 22:39

I am a Born-Again, Happy-Clappy, Bible-Bashing, Tree-Hugging, Cloth Nappying, Eco-Warrioring, Mother of Two - and proud of it!

So shoot me ......

CaptainDippy · 18/07/2006 22:40

Great news baout your DD's RS course, lwtg - God is good!

Best off to bed - shattered!!

OP posts:
Xavielli · 18/07/2006 22:46

Some one felt uncomfortable at an evangelical baptism because she was freaked out at the extent that her friends faith and devotion to the Lord had grown to in such a short space of time.

Which is fair enough!

It was other people's comments, not the OP's.

It isnt bothering me... as I said... just interested!

CaptainDippy · 19/07/2006 07:50

Morning!!

Fair enough indeed, Xavielli!! I think faith does freak people out sometimes and so it should - they are seeing a massive change in someone, a change wrought by the Holy Spirit - Yippee!

How is everyone doing?? I've been praying for you all.

Could you please send up a little prayer for me as I am just feeling a little down. I cannot pinpoint exactly where it has come from, but I hve woken up the last few morning with a sinking feeling in my tummy. It is horrid and I hate feeling like this with no explaination. Thank you!

OP posts:
longwaytogo · 19/07/2006 08:11

morning all - how are we? Sorry you are feeling a bit down CD it's a horrible feeling isn't it. Praying that it goes very quickly.

I saw the thread too read a bit and got bored so gave up. I think the word born again is a bit freaky to those who don't understand what it means.

Hoping we all cope with the heat today.
