CaptainDippy · 13/05/2006 08:52

Hello everyone!!

As PandaG mentioned, the thread was getting a tad long, so I thought it was about time to begin another one!!

I'll start with a summary of all prayer requests in April and May (this obviously doesn't mean that any prayer requests before that time are now null and void - but the list would just be waaaay too long - So please do refer to the other threads from time-to-time to catch up on prayer requests before April 2006!!)

Here goes .....

DumbledoresGirl - Finding life tough coping with vomit phobia, especially with DH away a lot - Strength.

NotQuiteSoTiredMum - Relationship with mum (mum drives her loopy re: how to bring up her children etc); all affected by bird flu; relationship with non-Christian DH. Feeling very tired atm!!

pudmog - Currently dealing with her past - lots of flashbacks, life very tough. Has been having counselling and had a recent breakthough - Praise the Lord!! Smile

Nanou1 - Having to go back to work f/t as DH cannot get a job at present, would like to be a better friend at keeping in touch; learning to be a Christian family - not many Christian friends around. Possible job just come up!!

NASWM - Life very Sad atm, feeling very low.

PandaG - Thinking hard about where to go re: going back into teaching etc etc atm. Has just become Chair of the PTA. Feeling a bit low and uncertain.

Twiga - DH has surgical exams throughout May, prayers for friends niece was was born early due to pre-eclampsia - has been moved out of closed incubator - Hurrah! Grandpa (90) has just had stroke - needs to let go and be with his Heavenly Father now.

MaryBS - Non-Christian DH has expressed an interest in going to church - Hurrah!

KateF - Lots of stress atm. Thanks for prayers for Philip Dunne who goes to her church, he is improving - Praise the Lord!! Smile

CaptainDippy - Usual prayers re: getting a p/t job and a home of their own; prayers for DD's who are very chesty and unwell, esp as DD1 had pneumonia this time last year; prayers that she will pass her driving test soon!!

JessicaandRebeccasMummy - I know her DH will find out about is happening to his job (he's had health problems for a while) around now - So let's prayer something amazing happens for that little family.

Thought I should do a separate post for you, thepits - I am so sorry to hear about your mum. I do know what you are going through right now, seven years ago, my foster dad had a heart attack and died in our living room. It was sudden and totally unexpected. He was only 59. It was such a shock and I still miss him so much and still sometimes find it hard to believe he is gone. Praying so much for you and your family - espcially your dad (how terrible that he had to find her like that.) I am just beyond words right now - So many prayers going out to you right now. [[hugs] Do keep posting honey. xxx

katzg · 22/05/2006 15:04

hugs and prayers all round

can you please prayer for DD2(11months) as she has to have her blood taken on wednesday, i'm sure it isn't going to be very nice and she isn't old enough to explain it to, also for me who has to take her and let them do it! thanks

MaryBS · 22/05/2006 17:05

Prayers for your DD katzg, here's hoping it goes smoothly and that its over and done with before she knows about it! What are they testing for, if you don't mind me asking?

Nanou1, prayers for your job interview, I really hope and pray you get it and that its right for you. Good to hear about your DH. Mine gets involved in things like bbqs for the church, and he attended the inaugural meeting of the church men's group, so I just have to pray he goes that bit further.....

Please don't stop praying for me. I have to get one more reference in for my Reader application, then I should hear soon about the selection procedure, what I have to do for that, and when I have to go for it. I need to discuss my reference with the lady thats doing it, so that she is aware of all the things I've been doing behind the scenes for the church and the community. My nerves are frazzled just at the thought of it. I know I am fulfilling God's will in going for selection, but I need patience and I need to calm down, its occupying too much of my thoughts!

Nanou, so pleased about your job interview, let us know how you get on. Also praying for your DH, great to hear he is getting more involved.

Katz, will pray for DD2, I so hate it when we have to take children for jabs etc., they just don't understand, I am sure it is harder for us than it is for them!

MaryBS - will pray about your reference, and the whole Reader application.

Welcome Bethron Smile sounds like you have a lot to cope with at the moment. Praying everyone is well enough for you to attend the appointment on Friday.

I'm just really busy this week, lots to do before we go away for half term, and friends in RL who have interviews and other stuff going on this week, I am trying to support them without getting run down or totally exhausted myself.

Nanou1 · 22/05/2006 17:46

Thank you MaryBS. will continue to pray for you gladly. stop worrying, you will be fine! and i shall pray for both our dhs too since they seem to be on the same path! kath and bethron... you are in my thoughts. what is wrong with your baby, if i may ask. must pick up dd1 now so i shall say farewell and shall catch up with you all tomorrow. god bless. x

DumbledoresGirl · 22/05/2006 18:07

Thought I would report in, and see from further down the thread that NQSTM asked after me - thank you for that. It is heartwarming to be remembered by people who do not know me, and many of whom are suffering far worse than me right now.

Well I am now 6 nights down and 3 more to go (sympathy and admiration to Bethron - my dh is away 9 nights too, and I don't even have ill childen to worry about, just the fear of them being ill). My MIL came to stay for the w/e which is why I haven't been on Mumsnet for a bit. She is now gone and the last 3 nights stretch out before me, as lonely and scary as the first 3. Sad Also, chicken pox is going round ds3's playgroup, so I have that to worry about too now.

So if you could just keep remembering me for a few days more, I would be grateful. And I will be praying for you all tonight - especially you thepits, because losing your mother is the worst possible thing. {{{hugs}}}

CaptainDippy · 22/05/2006 20:55

Hello one and all!! Smile I am very tired this evening, seriously need to do my jobs and get to bed asap, me thinks!! Mmmmmmm....

Great news about the 2nd interview Nanou1 - That is fab news, will be praying, esp on Wed / Thurs (do let us know when it is going to be) and great stuff about your DH too - God is good!! Grin

Sad to poor DD2 having to have a blood test - Horrid Horrid Horrid - my little DD1 had to have bloods when she was about 15 months, it was awful, but necessary - I think that is the best way to look at it really - Praying it will be easy and quick!!

All the best with your Reader application MaryBS - Praying for "supernatural" non-frazzled-ness to come over you quickly!!

Hello Bethron!! Smile Good to have you with us!! Poor you, sounds like it is a bit of a nightmare in your household atm, esp with your DH away (come back!!) Smile!! Praying that your DD's viral infection and poor eardrum (ouch ouch ouch!!) heals quickly and that your DS' temp comes down - A miracle of healing for his epilepsy too!!! Smile Praying for the neurology appt too - Is that for DS?? Let us know how everything goes....

Hello DG - Good to hear from you!! Smile Well Done on getting so far - Not much longer to go honey - Hang in there - Lots of prayers going up for strength and calm!! Smile

Vibes of energy to you PandaG - Prayers for strength to endure and to support your RL friends etc - and time for you too!! (Very important!!)

Love to all - "See" you tomorrow!! Smile

Hey all.

Hope all is on the up!

Just popped in the ask for your prayers for DP to get either a promotion or a new job. The place where he works at the moment is good but not overly friendly to people with children (he is the only one there who has kids) when I was pregnant with DD they asked what day she was going to be born on so he could take it off then go back the next!!! She was born on good friday so thankfully we had a long weekend together then he was allowed his one day paternity leave!
This wouldnt be so bad but a gay collegue of his was given a week paid to go to a pride event.... seems a bit wierd to me!!

My mum has to go for further texts and Docs still can't say what is wrong with her!

Thankyou for your prayers.

kate100 · 23/05/2006 09:39

DS2's baptism was wonderful!! The vicar gave a wonderful sermon for him, telling him what a lucky boy ds was to have been into our family. He fixed the vicar with such a calm look during the baptism, he looked completely at peace, it was wonderful. The weather was horrendous, it rained and hailed accompanied by a howling icy wind, but it didn't matter. We had a wonderful time, the house was jampacked, but we were surrounded by our family and friends, some of whom we hadn't seen in a while and it was great to catch up with them and have them share ds2's special day. The clean up wasn't too bad either as people stayed to help out. Also during the service, the priest brought communion down to my mom in her pew and she was thrilled, so maybe all isn't lost for her Smile

Prayers for all that need them, thepits so sorry to hear your very sad news, Marslady hope that you are OK, Xena very sorry that you have such a lot to cope with, DG not long to go, if I've counted right your dh will be home tomorrow and that's nearly here.

CaptainDippy · 23/05/2006 10:27

Morning - Just about to go for another driving lesson, so please pray!! Thank you!!

Will pray for your DP Xavillei - Sounds like he is not working in the most straight-forward thinking sort of place - Double standards really annoy me - they'll give one person time off to go to a gay pride event and another one day off to have a baby - ARGH!!!? Makes me Angry!! Anyway - I will pray a new job comes along or a promotion happens definitely. Praying for your mum too, hope they find out what is wrong very soon. Strength and peace to you!! Smile

Hi Kate100 - So the weather didn't bloomin' matter anyway, did it!!? Smile I am sooooo pleased that your DS' Baptism was so lovely and that you felt wonderful surrounded by your family and friends as the wind and rain howled outside (nice sort of picture if you think about it....) Smile God Bless him lots - and you and the rest of your Clan too! Smile Wonderful about communion being brought to your mum too - She is definitely not lost, me thinks!! Smile Just so pleased it went well!!

Well should go and get some shoes on etc....

[hugs] and prayers to all!! Smile
