I'll start with a summary of all prayer requests in April and May (this obviously doesn't mean that any prayer requests before that time are now null and void - but the list would just be waaaay too long - So please do refer to the other threads from time-to-time to catch up on prayer requests before April 2006!!)

Awww, captain... Praying for party solutions for you, It sucks when you have something good planned for DC and it goes to pot. Do you have a bowling alley or ice rink or anything near you (dont know the age of your children) or one of those soft fun places, with the ball pools and stuff?

Praying for strength for everyone who has posted!

In jesus name!

CaptainDippy · 18/05/2006 10:09

Unfotunately, it is for my DD2's 1st Birthday - so a bit young for ice skating and bowling yet, I am afraid!! Sad We do have a couple of soft play places, but some of the children will be a bit young to appreciate it and it'll cost a fortune!! Thank you for the suggestions though, and thank you for the prayers - really needing them right now.....

Katz - thanks for the offer of the e-mail, that would be great. email address - myrealfirstname @ myrealsurnameweb (all one word) dot org dot uk. Hope you understand that! Grin

KateF,. will pray re conjunctivitis

Busybusybee - so sorry to hear of your situation. Will pray for strength for you, and a quick resolution for your housing situation.

Captain Dippy - so hard when you have a party planned isn't it. I enjoy entertaining, but parties can be so stressful. Praying that you find a solution - does your church have a hall you could use as a backup plan? Rain was forecast here all week, and it is sunny at the moment, so maybe the forecasters will have got it wrong for you for Sunday - praying for sunshine! Smile

katzg · 18/05/2006 11:35

yep i understand but i'm not 100% sure of the spelling

email me on katzg at hotmail.co.uk

and i will foward it to you

CaptainDippy · 18/05/2006 11:52

Thank you for your Sunny Prayers!! Smile Please just keep on praying hard everyone!! Thank you!! Speaking of being sunny - I am feeling a bit better in myself too, which is good. Going to go and start lunch for the DD's now, then they are off to nursery for the afternoon and I can get on with the dreary housework - Flump!! Sad Wink

morning all.
life mad here. crazy day at work yesterday and i can't wait to leave... re 2nd interview for full time job i must thank you for all your prayers because it went well and i should hear by Friday what the score is. Also, have been put forward for 2 other jobs and have another interview somewhere at 5.30pm today which i cannot prepare because their website is under construction?! aaahhhh!!!!
had a lovely dinner at the vicar's house last night. he wants us to be involved in a charity in Africa and it was nice of him to think of us to help starting it up. a gut feeling tells me he feels it would be good also for dh to get his teeth into something - so to speak! although we are not that close and i cant see how he would know about our personal circumstances since we have only been worshipping at his church for only a few months... please can i humbly ask you for prayers of strength and hope for dh that he will find a job soon. I felt that hearing the guests talking about their various jobs etc made him feel worth... dh's confidence seems to be diminishing day by day... Sad Sad Thank you dear friends. you are all in my prayers too. x

DumbledoresGirl · 18/05/2006 12:21

2 nights down, on day 3 here, but feeling lower than low. I just don't know how I am going to keep going for another week. Sad

I keep reading this thread and want so much to help people here, but when I get to bed and have time to pray, all I can think of is my own misery. Sad

But I hope everything works out for all here.

CD sorry about your party problem. It is raining outside now as if we are living in a monsoon country but there are spells of sunshine too so who can say what Sunday's weather will bring? Just don't be tempted to nip outside inbetween the wet spells as I remember from a school fete that a bouncy castle when wet is a very dangerous (slippery) thing.

Nanou1 · 18/05/2006 12:27

oh dear... sorry to hear you sounds so bad today. hugs to you from london. where are you based?

MaryBS · 18/05/2006 13:00

DG, God knows your heart and your intentions, and hears your prayer as much as if you were to put it into words. Don't feel bad about your own prayers, we are all important in God's eyes.

I will pray for you, remember we are here for you!

DumbledoresGirl · 18/05/2006 13:29

Nanou - near Bristol.

Notquitesotiredmum · 18/05/2006 14:16

Hi CD

What a pain about the party. Will pray for sunshine for you if you decide to go ahead in the garden. Otherwise, our local CofE church hall is usually free and very good value, being a v. quiet little church - £25 for an afternoon. Well worth looking at a couple of local churches.

God bless

CaptainDippy · 18/05/2006 14:53

Hi everyone - In the middle of a manic afternoon here in DippyLand - Praying for you nanou re: f/t job and re: Sad DH, poor poor man, I know how crap my DH felt when he was out of work, it was very hard to know what to say to him to make him feel better. One person did point out to him that it was God's job to provide for our family, not his and I think that really hit home for Him - He needed to put His trust in a powerful and loving God - God will sort it for you, just perhaps not in the way that your expect him to!! Praying as you make a decision about this African charity thing too.

Poor DG!! Sad I am soooo sorry that you are struggling - I am glad you can vent in here - Keep going - We are all thinking of you and praying for you loads!!! [[[hugs]]

Mmmmmmmm, well it forecast showers today here and so far it has been glorious - no wet weather at all - so feeling a touch more hopeful about Sun!!?

Praying for you all as I buzz around madly!!!!

More strife here I'm afraid, had to call an ambulance last night for ds1, as he had croup and couldn't breathe. He was fine after a little while, but it was absolutely terrifying. He's very frightened of the hospital after he broke his leg last year and was very scared about the ambulance. Thankfully he is now fine and only has a little bit of a cough.

DH and I are feeling much more positve about our business and work situation, it will all bedone soon and he can get on with a new job. Also if I have to go to work a friend who is great with children is going to care for ds1 for one day a week and ds2 is going to be looked after by my mom, which is a huge relief. It can be so difficult to find good childcare and I'm pleased that my mom wants to help, I'm hoping that it will give her a bit more strength to cope with her situation if she is doing something purposeful with her time.

No change in my Nanny, just still waiting for the end.

CaptainDippy, I feel exactly how you do today, I have really struggled with patience, but I imagine it is because I am so tired. I'm also praying for good weather, for DS2's Baptism this weekend, our house will be very full if no one can go in the garden. I am addicted to weather forecasts at the moment lookinf of a glimmer of hope. As you said we were foercast rain today and it has been lovely so I'm hopeful.

Praying for all of you, especially you DG, I can't imagine being separated from my dh for that long, not long to go now Smile

CaptainDippy · 18/05/2006 18:06

Hi Kate100 - Nice to hear that I an not the only one whose children are driving them nuts and who are addicted to weather forecasts atm!! Smile It originally said "heavy rain" for Sun and now it says "light rain" so that is an improvement - Keep on praying, eh!!? It said "showers" today it has been very nice (apart from torrential downpour about 1.2 hour ago!!) Whereabouts are you?

Your poor poor DS2 with his croup, poor love. Must have been super scary for you, calling out an ambulance etc - Praying he continues to improve - and praying for job / family situationa atm - You sound like you are coping so well - Keep going!! Smile Praying for your nanny too, praying she goes peacefully and quickly soon. xx

Best go - DH bathing DD's - He'll be calling me in am min!! Smile [hugs]

Katz, I've tried but message keeps being returned! Here's my alternative e-mail - pandag at safe-mail dot net. Thanks Smile

Kate100 - must have been really scary last night, glad your DS is feeling better.

Notquitesotiredmum · 19/05/2006 11:52

Hi! We are having ds2 Christened in July - just before he is 3 (I just can't get organised for christenings any earlier!) Anyway, last night our new vicar came around for a chat and had lots of lovely, gentle, positive things to say. I would really appreciate prayers for ds2, as we get ready for the christening (he's not really keen on Church), and for dh too, as I was soooo aware that the new vicar was being guided to say just the right things for him to hear. It would be lovely if he could really feel part of the christening service, and . . . well, you know!

Prayers for you CD and Kate100 for really special days on Sunday. Prayers for all on the list too.

God bless

CaptainDippy · 19/05/2006 13:21

Yeah, I know NQSTM Wink Will be praying amazing things start to happen through this lovely and special event - Yey for God speaking through your Vicar, very cool!! Smile Praying hard for you DS2 and DH. [hugs]

How's the weather been for you where you are Kate100?? Yesterday it was forecast showers and it was gloriously sunny all day til it got to 5pm and it poured down. Today it is forecast a mix of sunshine and showers - no rain so far, but very, very windy. I haven't given up hope that Sunday might be nice yet - Keep praying everyone!! Smile

Everything hectic, but ok in the Dippy Household.

Mog · 19/05/2006 21:42

Haven't read the whole thread, but wondered how you pick yourself up when prayers haven't been answered. I've been a Christian for a lot of years so I'm not talking about selfish prayers. Prayers that are really there to serve a lot of people, not just selfish aims.

CaptainDippy · 19/05/2006 22:07

Could you elaborate a bit more Mog - I am not sure I catch your meaning???

OP posts:
coggy · 19/05/2006 22:10

Please pray for me.
My ds was stillborn this time last year and I really thought that I would be pg again by the time his 1st birthday arrived (2 weeks today).
I know that God has a purpose and that my ds is safe in Jesus' arms.
Please pray for me and my dh as we go past this sad anniversary date and that I may be pg very soon.
Thank you.

kate100 · 20/05/2006 10:23

Coggy, that does make my prayers for the weather seem very insignificant indeed. I will pray for you and I'm sure someone will be along soon to better offer you words of comfort than I can. I really hope that you and your DH get your wish of a healthy baby to hold in your arms very soon.

CaptainDippy, still forecast for heavy rain here in the Midlands, but looks hopeful for you. Very stressed at the moment hoping I can find the patience to be a good mom today and still get everything done Smile

It's just started to rain....... very heavilySad

CaptainDippy · 20/05/2006 10:26

Yes, your beautiful DS is safe in Jesus' arms, coggy. This must be such a hard time for you - praying for strength and for you to be surrounded by lots of support and love - Praying for a little miracle to start growing inside you too!! Smile [hugs] to you!!

CaptainDippy · 20/05/2006 10:26

All ok here in DippyLand - DD2's Birthday today - can't believe it was a year ago that I was sat there in a hospital bed with a teeny tiny baby in SCBU down the corridor. She has changed so much, wow!! Thank you Lord for the gift of my wonderful daughter!! Grin And for my other wonderful daughter too - I am a truly blessed woman!! Grin

Keep those weather prayers coming - raining here today, feeling nervous about tomorrow!! How is it for you Kate100???

Prayer for all. xxxx

OP posts:
CaptainDippy · 20/05/2006 10:29

Ooooh, just read your post Kate100 - Bum to the rain!!! Sad Praying for lovely afternoons for both of us tomorrow!! Smile

Have been thinking about mog's post a bit and, well, I think that God does answer all of our prayers - so there's no need to "pick myself up" when they are not answered. He doesn't always answer them in the way that we invisage, or in the time frame we would like, but He does answer them - You've just got to learn to trust God in everything and learn from the way in which prayers are answered. What do others think??
