Much prayer for each of you as I'm reading through.

Tough week, and very glad to reach the weekend and have a good day today...

madhairday · 26/02/2012 18:57

Keeping praying for all....DO, so sorry to hear about Caline :(

TACP - how did it go? :)

weegiemum · 27/02/2012 08:18

Praying for a good week for everyone - this is going to be the busiest for me since I got ill and I'm actually quite looking forward to it!

But if you have a chance, a quick prayer for my ds who is 10 - he's got the first migraine he's had for about 6 months so is off school with headache and vomiting. Pray he feels better soon and makes it to the bucket/loo as cleaning up would be beyond my powers at the moment.

JugglingWithTangentialOranges · 27/02/2012 09:04

Ah, weegie, I'm sorry your ds is not well.

Your underlying positivity - and faith - shines through your posts though. So lovely that you can start off your post praying for everyone else, and still looking forward to the week ahead. Only after that you tell us ds is home with a migraine and vomiting Sad I do hope the day goes as well as it can for you both and that ds is better really soon.

There is a lovely spirit of solidarity on here, and praying for one another x

DutchOma · 27/02/2012 10:22

That to me is the joy of the thread too, Juggling. No matter how bad things are (I won't say 'crap' as people might not know Oma knows such words Grin Hmm ) there is always someone to share with.

Personally I have felt so upheld during dark times knowing that people are praying for us.

blackeyedsusan · 27/02/2012 11:06

Shock dutch oma!

Wink Grin

crap sums it up really. tired, sinussy, stressed.

(if i subscribed to the ashing mouth out with soap policy, would not be able to pass you any anyay as I would have used it all up myself0

weegie, hope things go ok for you.

please pray for my neighbour who has been admitted to hospital with a pulmonary embolism.

madhairday · 27/02/2012 15:30

Praying for your neighbour BES and for weegie's ds.

I had a trial for a new drug this morning that went well so hopefully it might give me some respite and help fighting infections. I'm hopeful anyway - it's the best way to be!!

SweetestThing · 27/02/2012 17:55

Praying as I read through.

Weegiemum, are you in or from Glasgow? I'm guessing you are from your name :)

weegiemum · 27/02/2012 19:15

Sweetest, yes, I live in Glasgow and though I'm not from here originally I love it and am mum to 3 full on weegies!!!

Ds is better, it was a migraine and he's fine, he ate a big tea and hasn't been sick since this morning, so back to school tomorrow.

Busy week ahead with lunch out with expatinscotland tomorrow, work trial on wednesday am, physiotherapy on Thursday afternoon and I have to take dd2 to the dental hospital to get her brace fitted on Friday!

More good news today for me - I got a date for my next round of treatment (IV Immunoglobulin) which is 26th march for a week. Luckily, that's the week before the school Easter Hols so no childcare problems. I'm very lucky to get it again so fast, some people have to wait up to 6 months, but they are worried my condition will spread so I'll be getting it more often.

If only I could now stop hopelessly crying when I go to bed every night over the loss of my hands, things would be looking up a bit!!

JugglingWithTangentialOranges · 27/02/2012 19:37

You're amazing weegie - I wish I had half your positivity and energy.

Be gentle with yourself - it's some pretty big stuff you're having to deal with.

Do you have people you can talk with about everything - glad you're meeting up with expat tomorrow.

Sounds like a few small prayers answered today - glad DS not been sick again today for example Smile And treatment soon before the end of term x

IssyPeach · 27/02/2012 20:54

Dear all

Reading through posts of the last few days and praying and thinking of you all. Weegie- so sorry to hear about DS's migraines. One of my DSs suffered from them for a number of years but now he's a bit older, he's outgrown them. Hope yours does - soon. And you, Weegie, and MHD - may you keep strong and hopeful.

Could I ask for (another) work related prayer. One of my jobs (the really petty, bureaucratic one) is getting me down. Had a terse email from an administrator, copied into my boss (for no reason - trivial subject - isn't the 'cc' facility vastly overused?). Replied, I hope, in a dignified way. Praying for strength that I don't let the silly stuff get under my skin.

Another job (yes, I have several!!), has written to me to say that I can no longer do some aspects as I failed a post training test - actually, I hadn't done it as I was awash with family worries. I'll appeal to their good nature but it's getting me down. Very, very tired with all this to-ing and fro-ing - somedays 3 different jobs/venues in one day. But at anytime I don't know if one will go down the pan - nothing secure and mortgages to pay, debts to service .... Would love to take some steps back, do less work, have more home time and trust God that 'all will be well'.

Sorry, a rant but also a prayer request - for strength, faith etc - please!

amberlight · 27/02/2012 21:10

Weegie, new research this week - apparently Lithium is restoring nerve function. Going on to proper trials soon. Technology will get there. But goodness me you deserve a bloomin' good cry from the shock of this little lot.

PositiveAttitude · 28/02/2012 06:29

Prayers for all you poorly ladies on here.

I, too, have 3 jobs Issy and know what it is like juggling them all. One of mine is a nightmare and has been for 2 years. Just holding on in there until end of June. Prayers that your work life gets better.

Life has been a bit difficult here and I had been struggling, but on Sunday I really felt God put me straight on a couple of issues that had been allowed to cloud things.

weegiemum · 28/02/2012 08:54

Here I am back asking for more prayer - for dh.

He broke down on me last night, telling me my illness has given him the biggest crisis of faith h has ever had. He was in tears and that's not like him t all. He's finding work difficult (GP) as he says most of the people he sees are there about trivia (what he meAns is they're not as ill as I am).

His faith has always been so strong - part of him - that it breaks my heart to see him suffer so much. Please keep him in your prayers.

SweetestThing · 28/02/2012 09:41

Oh, weegiemum, your family is being battered at the moment. Praying that your DH will hear that still, small voice of calm and that your amazing strength continues.

PA, it must all seem very immediate to you now! Praise God that you got some clarity on Sunday.

amber, mhd, juggling, DO, issy bes - praying for God's healing and strength to support you all.

Sorry if I've missed anyone out. I pray for all you lovely ladies last thing at night, so there's a bit of a safety net there! :)

Things are fine here - focussing on trying to get fit again and the exercise is definitely helping me avoid sinking back into depression and anxiety. Bad day on Sunday but DH almost forced me out the door for a run and I felt much better afterwards! Thanking God for the wonderful doctors and other HCP at the Royal Marsden and elsewhere for their skills and the care they have taken with me.

AspirantPirate · 28/02/2012 09:52

Oh, weegie, I'm so sorry. This must be so tough for all of you. You can have all the prayers I can muster. God will carry you all through, even if you cannot feel his presence in all this.

I'm struggling a bit this week too, albeit on a much more superficial level. My exams start on Friday so tensions are rather high - I ended up having a complete meltdown last night when everything got on top of me (exams plus general family stress, inc announcement that because of world book day, everyone is to dress as favourite character on Friday, so I have to come up with ideas for all 3 children Confused). DH and I keep having massive timetabling hiccups as well which causes extra stress - we really need to find a way of co-ordinating our diaries so that we both know where everyone is supposed to be at any given time.

Anyway, I was given a real lift this morning when I found the following verse in my Twitter feed:

"Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins. -1Peter 4:8"

Exactly what I needed to hear - I hope it helps the rest of you having juggling nightmares too :)

Prayers for all, especially weegie and DH.

SweetestThing · 28/02/2012 09:59

PS weegie, there's no limit on prayers, so ask away!

AspirantPirate, praying for you too.

JugglingWithTangentialOranges · 28/02/2012 10:34

Lovely verse AP - thanks to all for such encouraging posts - prayers for all - especially thinking of you weegie - but much love to everyone x

thejaffacakesareonme · 28/02/2012 14:08

Prayers for all, esp Weegie and DH.

The MW referred me to the hospital this morning for tests. I was quite chilled until I realised the doctor was considering whether or not to deliver today! DH is working out of town today and when she decided that we could wait until the scheduled c section date I could have kissed her. Prayers for a trouble free delivery next Monday would be much appreciated.

thejaffacakesareonme · 28/02/2012 14:09

Drat. I'd forgotten about World Book Day. I have no energy to make an outfit. What about raking through the dressing up box and then seeing if you can find a book to suit an outfit?

madhairday · 28/02/2012 14:20

Wow Jaffa is it next Monday? Certainly praying :)

WBD - yes it's a complete PITA, no one seems to relish making costumes etc! ds is being diary of a wimpy kid which is easy as it is basically white T shirt, black shorts, a rucksack and a diary. Hardly very creative, but I am past caring. dd is going to be Lucy from Narnia, using an old bridesmaid dress, and making a belt with her bottle of potion hanging off it etc. Don't think they'll be winning any prizes this year Grin

weegie, praying for you and dh. It is so hard to see someone so firm in faith getting rocked by something, but even the firmest believer has times they really struggle and are plagued by doubt etc. You may both find 'God on mute' by Pete Grieg or 'where is God when it hurts' by Philip Yancey helpful books to read at the moment - they've got me through some bad times Praying that he will know some peace and reassurance. Glad you're getting to go out with expat tomorrow. :)

Praying for all as I read through.

AspirantPirate · 28/02/2012 14:36

Re Book Day - one of the teachers at our school suggested that if anyone was really stuck, they could always go as a Muggle. I think I love her.... Grin But yes, it's definitely ok to think up costume first, then character to fit!

Prayers for a safe and predictable delivery, jaffa.

JugglingWithTangentialOranges · 28/02/2012 14:43

Prayers for all for Friday - World Book Day !

And to Jaffa for Monday - delivery day !

I'm not sure which is harder Grin

But loving both the costume first and Muggle suggestions for Book Day !

amberlight · 29/02/2012 17:26

Prayers all round...

and yes, when something huge strikes, it can knock the stuffing out of people's faith at first.
