Very positive DO. She is actually in a foul mood today. So I can't be mistaking it now Smile But she does do this, I've known her now for over 9 years Grin

But I'm trying to rise above.

jan2011 · 12/04/2012 10:28

wat was the point of her inviting you if she was gonna be like that

thejaffacakesareonme · 12/04/2012 17:57

FOD - Congratulations.

TACP - great that the trip this year is better than last. Surely the pil should have known about the soft play in their own town? It isn't as if Montrose is that big? Hope you've had a good day.

creatovator · 12/04/2012 18:26

Tea how's it been today?

Teaandcakeplease · 12/04/2012 19:52

MIL seemed to improve as the day went on. Praise the Lord! Smile There were some awful times last year with her.

DS is behaving like we've travelled to a foreign country this week. He's eating funny and sleeping funny. Almost like jet lag and he is now waking 2 - 3 times a night. He is really playing up and being attention seeking today. My patience is being severely stretched.

Things he normally likes to eat, he won't eat. They'll be nothing left of him by the time I go home! He is being so tricky at meal times Sad He's been like this since we came on Sunday but it's now wearing so so thin.

Things are better than last year. I just wish DS would become settled.

WelshCerys · 12/04/2012 22:22

Sorry - been quiet for a long time but reading along now and thinking and praying ..

Could I ask for prayers, please? I've suffering from the effects of root canal treatment and for a week have been going through hell. Dentist won't do anything until the culprit tooth can be identified. Could be the filled one, or next door. On strongish pain killers but they don't touch the pain.

Last night, didn't think I could continue. My family don't pray as such (though they are being very nice) and I do with some help asking God to at least dull the pain so I can get through another weekend and back to work and take up properly with the kids again.

Prayers to all - including those in pain. xx

gingercurl · 12/04/2012 22:40

How old is ds, TACP? Young children don't like change much. It is upsetting and stressful for you as a parent but quite normal. We travelled to my home country (2 hrs flight) when ds was 3.4 for two weeks. Stayed with family and friends. He hardly ate at all during the first week, even things he'd normally enjoy. Then we visited my best friend and her family one evening. Thinking they'd serve something ds could enjoy as well, they'd made home made spag bol with salad. Ds loved it and ate like a horse but I don't think it was the only down to the food as such. The atmosphere in that home is very warm, weloming and relaxed. I think ds picked up on that and just felt accepted and ... ate. He was still a bit difficult with food for the rest of the visit, but not as bad ad before. Praying for a positive next few days for you.

Prayers for everyone else as well.

blackeyedsusan · 12/04/2012 23:06

I am a bit jumpy. not only was I scared witless by the big bang this afternoon, now ds has woken and has had a nightmare and possibly hallucinating and seeing things that are coming to get him. he has been given paracetamol to get his temperature down. thank God for gps who prescibe soluable paracetamol and know how to sneak it into children. it may be another long night...

congratulations fod.

hope you feel better soon Cerys.

Yes ginger he is 3.3 years old Smile

PositiveAttitude · 13/04/2012 06:29

Congratulations Dorothy. Fantastic news.
Wow, 2 on this thread now. Prayers that GOd's hand is on both those beans!

TACP - Hope the week continues to improve and you and the PIL have some good times together with your DCs.

Cerys - ((hugs)) and prayers for you. There is nothing like dental pain. I would prefer labour any day!! Prayers that it either settles or an be sorted out very soon.

DO - how is Bob now? Prayers for you both.

Prayers for Jan and everyone else on here, too.

DutchOma · 13/04/2012 07:39

Cerys have you tried clove oil? Get it from the chemist, it tastes foul, but does dull the pain. Just put a little bit on a cotton butt and paint the sore area with it.

Bob and I had a couple of reasonable days and no events during the night that warranted calling out an ambulance. Thank you Lord and thank you all for your prayers.

amberlight · 13/04/2012 08:10

Keeping the prayers going.
Much too much excitement yesterday when dh's minor operation in the afternoon ended up with us having to race back in as an emergency in later afternoon when it bled spectacularly. Now he's on daily nurse visits for a fortnight to make sure it heals up ok and doesn't do it again. As if we need more medical things in our lives.

DutchOma · 13/04/2012 09:06

Sorry about the excitement Amber I think that should be cotton bud, not butt should it? Grin

jan2011 · 13/04/2012 10:12

reading and praying much love to you all.

blackeyedsusan · 13/04/2012 10:43

(yawn)

3 episodes of ds seeing something terrifying last night. the first (above) where I bought him downstairs to calm him down. 2 more where he came into bed and twice he demanded to go back to the cot. (4 wakings) plus dd also joined in and needed me three times.

I am not a happy bunny. we are only just getting up for breakfast now. (having dealt with potties and poo and emergency biscuits and picked up toys... )

Your "butt" made me Grin DO!

blackeyedsusan · 13/04/2012 11:38

pa, are you being rude about do's bottom?

Wink Grin

(and this coming from someone who was told "you look fat" this morning. Out of the mouth of babes...)

OP posts:
DutchOma · 13/04/2012 14:21

Both your comments made me Smile

WelshCerys · 13/04/2012 20:13

Sorry to be the unwitting "butt" of jokes!! Thanks for suggestion, DO. I'm now using clove, with myrhh oil (herbalist I know recommended) - yes, it helps. Then I lie down with a hotwater bottle in a pillow case, rest it on my face and pop my ipod in to carry on with my language lessons. Sometimes dose, perhaps I'll wake up fluent AND pain free one morning!
Thanks all for prayers - please keep them coming - on new antibiotics today (stronger) as the pain from secondary infection just will not go away.

Prayers to all tonight - Amber, how is your DH? This is rough time for you.

ZipadiSoozi · 13/04/2012 21:00

lostmywellies - hello! glad my name sake kept your dc happy! x I have ds 16yo and twin b/g 8yo, 5 jobs and jiggered! love the school holidays though.

BES continued prayers for you x

DO - 'butt' also had me in tucks Grin

TACP - Hang in there, you sound like you are doing a fantastic job out of an awkward situation.

PA - Hi [[[[[[waves]]]]]

Cerys - ouch, sounds really painful, I am dentist phobic, so don't envy you, prayers you recover soon, hip hip hooray for our Dutchoma coming to your rescue!

Prayers we all enjoy the last couple of days before school starts back Smile

ZipadiSoozi · 13/04/2012 21:01

sorry PA didn't mean to wave in blue! xx

creatovator · 13/04/2012 21:27

Tea glad it's better than last year. Will keep praying.

BES praying for a better night.

DO lol at the butt.

Cerys ow! Had some root canal dental treatment last year. Praying everything clears up soon. If it does, please send some healing my way. I'm still dealing with sinus infection and mouth infection before dental treatment can be finalised Sad.

Amber praying that everything heals quickly now.

Zipi Hi!

FriendofDorothy · 13/04/2012 21:34

Your prayers would be appreciated. I am feeling a little bit anxious about this pregnancy and keep having thoughts of worry that something is going to go wrong.

WelshCerys · 13/04/2012 21:42

Praying, FoD, that you will be healthy and happy throughout your pregnancy (congratulations!). Anxiety is totally natural - it's a very natural mother thing. We worry when we're pregnant, we worry for a long time afterwards (perhaps for ever) because we love our kids so much. Praying that any worries you have will be little and outweighed by positive and happy thoughts.

FriendofDorothy · 13/04/2012 21:46

I think because it has taken us so long to conceive I am overly worried about that 'what-ifs'.

Thankyou for your prayers,
