Shock

I couldn't read that!
fine for a small amount of text, but not for a huge document.

nickelhasababy · 20/04/2012 15:31

:)

madhairday · 21/04/2012 11:20

Morning all, happy weekend.

Hope everyone is OK. We have a team of people out prayer walking atm and I am here with a bunch of dc. They are being good though so I can MN Grin What's everyone up to this weekend? We're going to a 'Pirate Praise Party' later, dc meant to dress as pirates, we will see how it goes! Then a busy day tomorrow as church in the morning then ds is at a St Georges Day parade in the afternoon then we go to an afternoon messy church type thing. Exhausted just thinking about it all.

Panda how has the move gone?

nickelhasababy · 21/04/2012 11:42

cool!
I love dressing up Grin

We've got an event at church all day - an art competition, organ recitals, cheerleading and refreshments.

I made DD a baby dragon costume, so DH is just getting her into that and taking her along.
We're supposed to be having a photographer from the Kent Messenger coming along, so hopefully DD (Dear Dragon? Grin ) will be in the paper!
Grin

nickelhasababy · 21/04/2012 11:44

and we've got the APCM tomorrow afternoon!
almost completely forgot about it - except we had an email from one of the Churchwardens this morning reminding us!

MaryBS · 21/04/2012 11:50

LOL at dear dragon. :o

Our APCM is tomorrow, with me standing as churchwarden. If that wasn't enough, I am also taking and preaching at the main sunday service just before! (Communion by Extension). At least the sermon is written!

nickelhasababy · 21/04/2012 11:57

Sounds like you just want loads on your plate Grin
good, though.

We also played our game of Play Your Cards Right last night at choir.
It went really well.

Was a bit worried because the losing team had JC2 on it, and it's hard enough to make him feel happy.
He was stoical about it, though.

nickelhasababy · 21/04/2012 12:28

here we go
Dear Dragon in the flesh! Grin

madhairday · 21/04/2012 12:32

Awww how utterly cute is she? Gorgeous!

Event sounds interesting - trying to reconcile 'organ recital' and 'cheerleading' Grin - sounds like my kind of event!!

MaryBS · 21/04/2012 13:28

Aw bless at little dragon, it just slays me :o

We you tempted to turn "play your cards right" into "sing your notes right"? HIGHER! LOWER! :o

nickelhasababy · 21/04/2012 13:34

I was tempted, yes, but it went out of the window. Grin

Grin that's what everyone said (about organ/cheerleading) Grin

Diversity is what it is! Grin

MaryBS · 22/04/2012 13:03

Heaven help me, i'm now churchwarden (or will be, once I've been sworn at in)

DutchOma · 22/04/2012 13:38

Heaven help you in any event, Mary, churchwarden or not.

OP posts:
madhairday · 22/04/2012 18:53

Mary you'll be a great churchwarden! :) Congratulations Grin

MaryBS · 23/04/2012 10:58

Thanks :) Not entirely convinced, but I'll do my best :)

madhairday · 23/04/2012 11:34

You so will though. Churchwardens need to be people who have understanding and empathy with others and don't tell people where to sit and you do in bucketloads. I think you'll be great.

dh just gone off to clergy conference so am on my own again til thursday.

Bluetinkerbell · 23/04/2012 12:31

I'm putting together our Pentecost service... we've got the bishop coming :)
Instead of the confession bit, there is a prayer of personal renewal with blessing of oils and anointing. Quite like that... :)

gingercurl · 23/04/2012 12:45

I've just received an email about something called "Christian Praise!" I've never heard of it. Does anyone of you lovely ladies know what it is/ever been? It's supposed to be held in Leicester in May. The friend who sent this to me keeps forwarding stuff like this and seems quite keen that I should attend something of this ilk (in the nicest possible way) for some reason.

nickelhasababy · 23/04/2012 13:28

congratulations Mary! you'll be fab. Grin

I'm back on the PCC, and I'm not on the team for choosing the new vicar (the interviews are on a specific Friday, and I had to know there and then if I was available, which of course, I couldn't know without knowing when DH's days off are!) so I stood down. :(

nickelhasababy · 23/04/2012 13:30

good lck Blue :)

ginger I've not heard of that.

I was noseying after the APCM yesterday at a Scripture Union publication for kids (they were preparing sunday school stuff for during the service) and have got the info to look up the one relevant for 8-11 YOs. Thought it might be useful for the Junior Choir during the sermons...

Bluetinkerbell · 23/04/2012 14:19

Do you reckon I could get away with the bishop blessing new oils? Wink
Our vicar keeps smugly bragging about his 'special' oils... he doesn't go to our Diocesan cathedral to get the oils blessed, but instead goes to where the flying bishop comes.
Our church wardens and people from the congregation only just found out and aren't very happy with it... Some people have started a countdown until he is retiring Wink

MaryBS · 23/04/2012 14:57

Better still, why not try to get some from a woman bishop? I know we don't have any in our country, but other coutnries do :o

Bluetinkerbell · 23/04/2012 16:12

grin Mary

madhairday · 23/04/2012 16:13

Loving Mary's idea on that one! But yes you should ask the bishop. My mind is just aghast at the whole only getting flying bishop to bless the oil thing tbh. ffs!!! and breathe.

nickel what SU material is that? We use the Light material, it's very good.

ginger, never heard of it but had a quick google, looks ok, looks like a good old sing along, doesn't look too way out wacky Grin, can't be sure though - if anything it looks slightly songs of praise-esque, but that may just be the pictures on the site. Could be good :)

Bluetinkerbell · 23/04/2012 16:13

oops I meant Grin of course Wink
