I thought it was time to set up a new thread for Christmas.

Will just leave it short and give you all the opportunity to add your own prayers.

Nickelbabe Prayers of thanks for the delivery of her little girl, continuing prayers for her and the baby. We look forward to you to be able to update us.

MHD prayers that the medical team will get their act together, but also that you will be able to be at home and stay at home over Christmas.

Soozi we know how hard things have been for you for such a long time. Prayers that you will find the strength to cope, especially at this Christmas time.

CaptainDippy Prayers for comfort and joy.

Prayers for all of us that we will proclaim the birth of the Saviour to a world in need.

FriendofDorothy Remember it is possible you could be pregnant by March - I maybe wouldn't have believed it either when I was hoping to get pregnant with my first.
If you've never been pregnant you just don't know if it will ever happen, and it's quite easy to think if it hasn't happened it's not going to - but that really isn't always the case. I think there are some very supportive ttc threads I hope you've found too. Wishing you every blessing over Christmas and for the New Year !

FriendofDorothy · 18/12/2011 00:03

Thankyou. I hope it happens but I feel increasingly despondent and abandoned by God on this one.

TotallyUnheardOf · 18/12/2011 00:06

Prayers for all.

Amber - for you and for your dh, and for S's family and friends. Sad

MHD - still praying that you get to spend Christmas at home with your family. Look after yourself.

Jently - for your continued patience and resilience... and prayers of thanks for the support and love that others are showing you.

Dorothy - I'm so sorry that you are going through this. I started praying, after a long long time 'in the wilderness', as it were, just over a year ago out of sheer desperation to do something - anything - to help a close friend who was going through what you're going through. I know that I was not the only person praying for him and his lovely wife to conceive, and last year, on Christmas Eve, they got their BFP. This year they are looking forward to spending their first Christmas with their gorgeous baby. Miracles do happen! I pray that your dreams come true too this Christmas.

Mary - I pray that your sermon gets finished goes well tomorrow. Xmas Wink

Prayers for anyone I've forgotten, and also thanks to all of you for supporting me at various times during the last year. Work is still quite tough, but dd's accident last week made me sort out my priorities a bit, and I feel a bit calmer as a result.

blackeyedsanta · 18/12/2011 11:09

funny that, overslept, can't think why. Xmas Hmm

had 2 phonecalls from the person I was supposed to meet, asking to arrange a meeting. I emailed back that the children were being sick, (2 weeks agao) but heard nothing since. Xmas Confused

i have just about keeled over this week and have been so exhausted that I cannot think properly and get the children organised for bed. vicious circle. i could sit in a corner and cry with sheer exhaustion. it is beginning to ease a bit now but will take a few days to get back on track.

dd was off school on friday and missed the christmas service at church, which I was looking forward too, being able to concentrate with no small boy to keep in check. i will have to try and go to a christmas eve service somewhere. we haven't been to church for 4 weeks because of the children's and my illnesses. and not heard anything at all. we could have fallen off the planet for all they know or care Xmas Sad

got to get ready for a christmas party for the children today. Xmas Smile ( i think)childrens parties are not that easy but there may be one or two people I will know there. [hopeful emotion]

lostafrica · 18/12/2011 16:15

Prayers that you'll get a bit of rest and refreshment, bes . :( about lack of concern shown by church. Hope the party goes well today.

Hello all, I have finally returned. Am getting settled in the new house, which is actually an old cottage with wonderful views, so I like it a lot and will like it even more once I can walk again! I have had the flu this week, so I'm a little weak, but that's just a good excuse for mning in my book...

So, lots of praise for the past three weeks: for the move which went smoothly, for dcs who have settled quickly into their new school, for dh who has been taking care of everything in the house and then taking on even more while I've been in bed half the week. I'm settling in more slowly, not meeting many people yet, but was invited out with a group of local mums which was v nice and welcoming!

Congratulations to nickel and prayers for the first few weeks.

mhd - so sorry to hear of all that being mucked around and pray that you get some clarity from the doctors, not to mention relief from the pain.

blackeyedsanta · 18/12/2011 17:18

I have survived a christmas party for dd. ds was not too much trouble, quite happy to mooch around the room with balloons.

iamhiding · 18/12/2011 17:24

hello. hope you are all well. looking for a new church and have found a possibility to try after christmas. Xmas Smile

Bluetinkerbell · 18/12/2011 17:59

HI all! Praying for everyone!

FriendofDorothy I feel your pain! We've lost our DD2 in June at 20 weeks pregnancy and are ttc again to give DD1 a baby to cuddle and play with, she is longing to be a proper big sister...
My DSis just told me last week she is pregnant... I am very happy and very sad at the same time... it is difficult. I should have had a 6 week old baby to cuddle up with now and buy presents for. All I can do for her is put a Christmas tree on her grave :(
Praying for you, that you may have a BFP very soon.

Bes praying that you feel less tired and refreshed! Praying that your church will show that they do care!

Mhd praying you feel better soon, that the doctors give you the care you need!

lostafrica praying that get better soon too and can go out and about discovering the landscapes! we should do a mini-meet up with MHD in the new year!

Mary how did the sermon go?

Jently well done for getting through this difficult year! Praying that the next year brings you good times!

Praying for everyone else too!

lostafrica · 18/12/2011 18:54

Yes, let's - that would be a nice thing to look forward to. :)

amberlight · 18/12/2011 19:04

Keeping you all in prayers

gingerbreadhousecurl · 18/12/2011 19:16

LUrking and praying.

madangelhairday · 18/12/2011 19:24

I am praying for you now.

Yes would be lovely to have a mini meet up :)

Hello to new members. Keeping you in prayers as I read through.

Went to church this morning! Yay! Shattered now but sooo good to go.

MaryBeWaiting · 18/12/2011 19:28

Bluetinkerbell it went very well :), although DD said it was embarrassing :o. I started by talking about OMG, and how its used by today's youth, and did the bit from St Trinians (at 1 min 12), and how when I was a child I'd have had my mouth washed out with soap for using a phrase like that, but in this instance we could actually say (when talking about the visitation of Gabriel to Mary) OH MY GOD!!! and mean it. And then went on to talk about being faithful to God and being able to trust him so much that you could say YES to him, even if it mean that your life was in danger for doing so (as Mary's could have been).

JugglingWithGoldandMyrhh · 18/12/2011 20:22

Friend of Dorothy - Just to say I was praying for you at the carol service this evening, especially when we heard the reading about Zachariah hearing that he and Elizabeth would have a son. Also had the reading of Gabriel's visit and message to Mary (as in your sermon, Mary) Smile

Remember too there's a chance of conceiving every month - I was thinking it's a bit like throwing a six on a dice - in some ways it doesn't matter how many times you've thrown the dice before - each time there's a one in six chance of getting the six. HTH

FriendofDorothy · 18/12/2011 21:24

Thankyou. I had to go to two children's nativity services today and I just wanted to cry. It doesn't feel right feeling this sad at Christmas.

TotallyUnheardOf · 19/12/2011 01:33

Aww, Dorothy... I have no words, but am (virtually) holding your hand and praying with you.

Praying for you too, Blue. This Christmas will be hard for you, but I pray that your beautiful DD1 will bring you some distraction and much happiness, alongside the sadness.

Mary - like the sermon. My lovely dd2 has kept the American habit of saying 'Omigosh' (with a slight American accent!), which is quite sweet. Thinking a lot about saying 'yes' to God at the moment, and praying for some kind of direction as to where I should go next (if anywhere) work-wise, and in general. (And I think that sentence just about sums up my directionlessness, doesn't it? Ha!)

Lostafrica - welcome back!

MHD - glad you made it to church; rest up now and look after yourself.

MaryBeWaiting · 19/12/2011 10:21

FriendofDorothy, praying for you. All I can say is trust in God with all your heart and he will provide. I can't promise a baby, only that God has a plan for you, and all will become clear at some point.

lostafrica · 19/12/2011 11:37

Oh Dorothy - don't feel bad about feeling sad at Christmas, that's entirely human. Look back at the story of Hannah (1 Samuel 1 and 2) if you haven't recently. There's a godly woman who was desperately sad about not conceiving - and was not condemned for it.

lostafrica · 19/12/2011 21:56

mhd , praying for a good result for your hospital trip tomorrow.

I'm also off to hospital tomorrow and am making my own way there as dh is away with the dcs. I'm getting a lift to the station and then I'm on my own... It's only a short walk the other end, or at least it looks it on the map, but I haven't seen it irl - I hope I can hop it on my crutches without too much difficulty!

Positive - just seen you're off to Cambodia at some point. Wow, that sounds great. We went there on holiday earlier this year and had a wonderful time: the people were friendly, the food was delicious and the weather was good. We felt really at home. Hope you find it welcoming, too!

amberlight · 20/12/2011 19:36

Hi everyone. Keeping prayers going, as ever.
Last radiotherapy session tomorrow. After an horrific one yesterday, not so bad today. Very much looking forward to getting my life back again so that I only have to see doctors and medical teams every few weeks instead of half of each day...what a journey over the last year this has been...and thank you to those who have prayed through it with me.

Cluckingmad · 20/12/2011 19:38

Hi ladies urgent prayer needed here, please pray that Jj gets the help her and her family need, not just for christmas but until her dh is able to return to work.

lostafrica · 20/12/2011 22:27

Hello, hiding , by the way, praying for your church search. :)

blackeyedsanta · 20/12/2011 22:35

oh heck. I am shattered. got to get organised to visit the pils tomorrow.

amber, glad it was better than yesterday, good luck for tomorrow.

Hi lost, good to see you back on line. how did the hobbling to the hospital go?

JugglingWithGoldandMyrhh · 20/12/2011 23:12

Could we have a quick prayer in the juggling household just because we're not that organised for Christmas, and are slightly broke, and not quite sure about our plans over the next few days (to keep DCs amused and happy) - a bit like the Holy Family really when you think about it (apart from that last bit) Smile Anyway DS in particular was a bit tricky today - moping about saying he was bored Xmas Hmm - (festive raised eyebrow more than sceptical !)

Am hoping I may be able to make use of a Post Office savings book I happily came across today with some long lost funds in !

Also I'm a bit concerned about my Father's health.

Thank you all !

P.S Anyone else enjoying Rev ? - I think it's great and getting better as it goes on Xmas Smile

PositiveAttitude · 20/12/2011 23:17
