Grin

I know I would appreciate prayers as I face the prospect that the Littlest Dippy starts school in a few short weeks (w/c 12th Sept to be precise). Feeling a little wobbly to say the least ......

Yay and yay, BES!

Praying.

madhairday · 16/11/2011 11:08

Praying for you today Amber.

BES that is good news re dd. Praying that ds will feel more calm and settled down soon.

Keeping praying for you all, Mary praying for E today as well, how is R doing with it all?

blackeyedsusan · 16/11/2011 11:14

amber, how are you? praying for you.

SweetestThing · 16/11/2011 12:12

Amber, how did today go? Praying for you - radiotherapy is a hard treatment: PM me if you want to chat about it, as I've had recent experience.

BES, glad to hear progress with dd.

Praying for E and to welcome baby Sophia (lovely name).

Saw psychologist yesterday and she has diagnosed me with mild to moderate depression but said she would have been surprised if I didn't have depression, given all that's happening and is continuing to happen. More counselling sessions to follow and I have booked to see GP in a fortnight to talk about possibly going on ADs to help me cope. Problem is, I feel as if I should be able to cope and that I am letting everyone (esp DH, DD and DS) down by not being able to. Ho hum.

amberlight · 16/11/2011 14:28

Yup, I'm back from radiotherapy planning. Thanks for the prayers...much appreciated. Bit shaky still but have tea.

DutchOma · 16/11/2011 14:39

*Sweetestthing" but that is part of the depression that you feel you should be able to cope and that you are letting everybody else down. It's part of the disease. And you have so much reason to be depressed, not that that is always the case, you can be depressed without a reason.

I would suggest you take all the help that's offered (including the help that your family can give you) and that you go very gently on yourself and get rid of the "ought tos".

blackeyedsusan · 16/11/2011 16:18

given the circumstances, depression is hardly surprising. it is not letting the side down to take the help you are offered. honestly. you have coped amazingly with an awful lot. there is nothing wrong with a little bit of help to keep you coping.

MaryBS · 16/11/2011 21:11

Lovely message on FB I wanted to share:

Within each heart is a spark of the Divine. These sparks of Divinity and love can reach into the darkness and transform it. However, there may be times when you need to shine your heart extra brightly because others may be struggling to keep their spark alive. Let your light bring hope to a situation that feels dark and hopeless.

TotallyUnheardOf · 16/11/2011 22:45

Have been away (on work) and back now and trying to catch up, so passing through in haste, but praying for all; especially for E, for amber, for Sweetest, and anyone who's struggling right now.

Thanks for that message, Mary. I will try to remember that. Smile

amberlight · 17/11/2011 07:58

Sweetest, much prayer for something cheering for you - you've been through heck with extra heckness.
And much prayer for everyone else too

madhairday · 17/11/2011 11:04

Lovely words Mary.

Sweetest - you know, you have been through so much, and you're bound to be left reeling. Sometimes depression can creep up on you from these things, but it really is totally natural and nothing to feel bad about - go easy on yourself and take all the help you can. Meanwhile we are praying for you here.

Where is Dippy? Hope she is ok, have seen her a bit on fb but we miss you and hope things are ok.

SweetestThing · 17/11/2011 14:11

Thank you, everyone - your prayers mean a lot. I will accept whatever help I am offered - if I had a broken leg, I'd get it fixed, and it's no different if it's my mind that needs some fixing!

I am on Facebook if anyone wants to find me - my name is Alison Sweeting and my photo is of me in a long, red dress :)

amberlight · 17/11/2011 14:16

Friend request sent! Seems we have a friend in common!

SweetestThing · 17/11/2011 15:25

It's not come through yet, amber. :(

Smalll world!!

SweetestThing · 17/11/2011 15:36

It's come through but FB seems to be on a go-slow for me today! I have accepted it but fear I may be about to get the blue screen of death....

Our mutual friend taught both my children - fancy you knowing her! She was our son's form tutor and was fabulous at getting him focussed. Our daughter says she was the best English teacher she had.

Bluetinkerbell · 17/11/2011 15:56

Sweetest I added you on FB as well!

SweetestThing · 17/11/2011 16:02

SweetestThing · 17/11/2011 17:44

It is a small world - I have known our mutual friend's husband for well over 20 years!!

madhairday · 17/11/2011 17:57

Wow! I have known our mutual friend about 3 years now - college and New Wine events :)
