Grin

I know I would appreciate prayers as I face the prospect that the Littlest Dippy starts school in a few short weeks (w/c 12th Sept to be precise). Feeling a little wobbly to say the least ......

That's lovely Mary.

You could also use this

Deuteronomy 33:27
The eternal God is your refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms.

quite simple but lovely I think.

MaryBS · 22/10/2011 21:40

Wow! Just heard from P., some of you will remember his story (NQGU in particular). He has been given permission to officiate at last, so he can be a priest again - has been assigned for 3 months to a parish in London, so he can learn our culture :). Praise God!

blackeyedsusan · 22/10/2011 22:10

you might not have noticed it but there was definately a truck driving through our loft this afternoon. I have been run over by it and it has reversed back over me for another go.

have been insulating the loft, again, which involves being bent double crawling around on boards and heaving things around in awkward positions. a large number of muscles are now protesting vehemently at the abuse they have suffered. on the plus side half the loft is now insulated and I have enough loft insulation to do the rest and therefore do not have to carry any more up 3 flights of stairs. I have also traced and uncovered the electric wires that were covered by the previous insulator (which may have been the electrician) i am also thanking God for providing a warm day so that the children did not freeze whilst I had the loft hatch open for 3 hours and for not falling through the ceiling/down the loft hatch etc. I also got a second wind after lying on the floor in the loft whimpering to enable me to finish the wire uncovering job. unfortunately, I need to visit the loft again in the near future to finish the job and sort out the mess I abandoned.

DutchOma · 23/10/2011 10:29

Mary so glad to hear about P, God is very good.

BES Sorry to hear about the truck, didn't you hear it coming with all that insulation you put down? Please be careful with the electric wires.
How are you doing with the plumbing? Or maybe: how is the plumbing doing with you?
I am full of cold and have opted out of church, wanting an easy day. Dgrands is coming to stay for the week tomorrow evening, I would value prayers for wisdom (to cope with his questions) and strength (to match his energy).

blackeyedsusan · 23/10/2011 11:22

why? why? why? why? why? why? why?

gets a tad ermm tiring doesn't it DO? hope you manage all those questions.

also opted out of church as still a little sore, and can't turn my head comfortably to see what is coming from behind so driving would be unwise. the bedroom was a lot warmer this morning. so hopefully the insulation will make a difference when the weather gets colder. I have to get a window lock on one of the top windows in my bedroom so that it closes nice and snug keeping out the drafts.

the toilet is still leaking. must ring the plumber some time when I can work out where it is leaking from. we are still standing on carier bags as a barrier between wet (damp) not sure what that is on the floor and feet that go trailing round the rest of the flat. (yuk)

I hope that you are feeling better soon and have plenty of energy for next week.

blackeyedsusan · 23/10/2011 18:22

ps, given the muck in the bottom of the bath I suspect my ears were full of bits of insulation.

DutchOma · 23/10/2011 20:23

That's why you did not hear the truck coming...

amberlight · 23/10/2011 20:35

Thanks for prayers for my sermon - it went really well - had some lovely feedback. Honestly I was shaking beforehand but as soon as I went up with dh I ust felt calm and it was fine, it was definitely the holy spirit helping out! Posted it on fb for anyone interested, it's on 'what would Jesus say to the sick'.

Bluetinkerbell · 24/10/2011 14:25

glad your sermon went well mhd

praying for everyone!

could do with one for myself at the moment. We've been ttc for the last few months after we lost DD2 back in June. Today my stupid period arrived... I could with a little prayer, not so much for the physical pain, but more for the emotional one. I so wanted to be pregnant again before Sterre's due date next week 3rd of November, which is now not going to happen :(

madhairday · 24/10/2011 16:27

Oh Blue, certainly praying for you. x

PositiveAttitude · 24/10/2011 18:34

Blue, I remember that terrible feeling so well and I totally understand your feelings. ((hugs)) and prayers. Hang on in there.

PositiveAttitude · 24/10/2011 18:45

Lovely reading that MHD, if I was staying in this country I'd ask your Dh to come and move down here!! Tell him "well done".

ZipadiSoozi · 24/10/2011 20:43

Prayers for my dsis, I really don't know how to make her feel a bit better, I realise she has got to go through different emotions, but I just don't want her to hurt as much as she does, she has really been through the mill this year with one thing and another, nothing too serious, but I hope Alice dying at the age of 18 puts things into perspective a little for her. To be blunt I think she thinks my dnephew is going to do something stupid, but he's not, yes he is very sad and so is dsis - they seem to be just existing though, maybe after the funeral things will start to heal, I know its just the beginning. She is taking my mum & dad on hols next week and doesn't want to go she is that sad! I just listen to her, its all I can do, she doesn't want the parents saying life goes on, she's not ready for that, and I think that is what she thinks the holiday is going to be like. Please god ease her pain and my dnephew and thank you God for my supportive brother in law, he is their rock atm!

Sorry that was a ramble!

TotallyUnheardOf · 24/10/2011 22:57

Oh, Soozi... prayers for your dsis and nephew. It must be awful for them. It's so very sad when a young person dies - so hard to come to terms with a life ended before it has really begun. (Sadly have some experience through work, though my role has mostly been in supporting others in dealing with their reactions - and I know how tough and draining that can be, so my prayers are with you too.)

Prayers for you, too, Blue... for strength as Sterre's due date approaches and for a BFP sooner rather than later.

amberlight · 25/10/2011 08:17

Prayers for all...
In hospital all day today for first herceptin dose.

madhairday · 25/10/2011 10:13

Amber - praying that goes well today.

Sooz :( prayers for your dsis and nephew :( So hard and so tragic. Prayers for you too as you support them.

We had our first prayer meeting for the area last night and a good turnout, it went well :)

blackeyedsusan · 25/10/2011 10:16

hope all goes well amber.

SweetestThing · 25/10/2011 13:22

Prayers for Sooz'z dsis and nephew, and for sweet Alice and her family - so, so sad.

Amber, prayers for you today that all goes well and you cope with it in your usual positive way.

Had a lovely week in Spain with DH and relaxed lots, did a bit of walking but nothing on my usual scale. Came home to find out that my DM will be in hospital for another six weeks and won't be able to live on her own any more. Our friend, Carl, is still in a coma and his family has been told there is no chance of him regaining consciousness - please pray for them all and for my DM in her confusion.

Have blogged here

amberlight · 25/10/2011 17:02

All's gone well (phew) and Thanks to all who prayed.
Sweetest, much prayer...
and for everyone else too

blackeyedsusan · 25/10/2011 22:32
