Grin

I know I would appreciate prayers as I face the prospect that the Littlest Dippy starts school in a few short weeks (w/c 12th Sept to be precise). Feeling a little wobbly to say the least ......

Soozi, so sad to read of this...much prayer....

blackeyedsusan · 14/10/2011 21:56

Sad soozi.

sorry, this seems trivial in light of soozi news but I am sat in tears because of a couple of things. school have sent out parents evening appointments and although I requested an appointment specifically during the time the creche is open, I have not been given an appointment during this time, which means I am going to be juggling two children during the appointment which is not going to be conducive to finding out what dd is doing at school.(and I have concerns I wish to discuss) I got the letter back immediately it went out. I could do no more.

I seem to have buggered up my phone so that I can not download pictures to the computer, to save and print for homework. dd is disappointed and I feel an idiot because I have unplugged something at the wrong time and now it will not work at all.

I kept ds off nursery today as he is not coping with living for the rest off the day. he just has one continuous melt down, and it is not improving. (which I would expect it to do by now.) funnily enough he has been a lot better today. i will need to talk to staff at nursery how we can improve things for him. but it something else to organise and worry over. it is the not knowing how they are going to react and not having any control over the situation.

one good thing. the school office lady has let me buy some second hand uniform for dd before the parents evening. one jumper started to unravel last week. and some seem to have disappeared off the face of the planet. Confused not got the heating on yet and it is a bit colder/damper weather and things aren't drying quickly so they may just be taking longer to go through the wash.

thejaffacakesareonme · 15/10/2011 10:15

I'd phone up the school or speak to the teacher and ask for another appointment during a time that suits you. In my experience, if you have concerns then a parents night isn't the best time to discuss them because by the time the teacher has shown you some of the DCs work and discussed how they are generally there isn't enough time left to deal with specific matters.

Soozi - prayers. It's hearing things like that which make me think I should do more to try and get every last ounce out of each day.

The baby over on the pregnancy board is hanging in there - 24 weeks today and will be given the steroids tomorrow.

ZipadiSoozi · 15/10/2011 10:22

Thank you all for your prayers, I will pass them on, I'm sure they will be welcomed, the mum is a christian, but I bet right now its tough as can be, the girl that has died is called 'Alice' she was so beautiful inside and out, we are all just numb!

Right stop crying Sooz you have 2 little precious ones who are turning 8yo on Monday and their friends are coming in 10 minutes! Off to the Bear Factory!

ZipadiSoozi · 15/10/2011 10:24

bes - Our school generally agree that if parents have any problems, they can make an appointment to see teachers or head at a different time!

blackeyedsusan · 15/10/2011 10:49

well, I have a feeling that after ds has screamed his way through the wait to see the teacher in the hall and the actual appointment, (thus disrupting all the rest of the teachers as they all meet in the hall) and when I have asked for a further meeting with the teacher because he has disrupted the meeting, then they will make damn sure that we have an appointment where we can use the creche in future! Grin it is a bit late to arrange an alternative. one emergency baby sitter is on holiday and one has moved and started university, so can not pop the children over there and get back for the appointment. several people are going to be annoyed as they have asked for meetings on the "late night" presumably so they can get there after work and have been given appointments starting at 3.45 Confused there are at least 2 more parents who have not got use of the creche when requested.

i will be requesting an alternative apppointment.

prayers will be resumed when i have enough energy to do more than just keep my head above water myself.

madhairday · 15/10/2011 11:24

Oh sooz, I am so very sorry, poor poor family and poor dn. Thinking of beautiful Alice and praying for you all. :(

Great news Caz, so excited and happy for you, welcome Xander, lovely news :)

BES - sounds like the school are a wee bit disorganised - yes I would explain the situation to the teacher and ask for either an appt within the creche time or something outside the parents evening altogether when ds is at nursery and dd at school or something of that sort. Sorry the elder has not got back to you yet, perhaps he is considering it all. Let us know how it all goes tomorrow. praying for you. Keep hanging in there. God has so much for you and loves you so much.

amberlight · 16/10/2011 20:32

More prayers all round.
Off on holiday for a week from tomorrow - last chance before herceptin and radiotherapy stuff starts the week after.

blackeyedsusan · 16/10/2011 21:45

ooo have a lovely holiday Amber.

blackeyedsusan · 16/10/2011 21:56

how are you doing sooz?

Bluetinkerbell · 16/10/2011 22:21

Can you please pray for my DH that he may pass his last driving instructor test tomorrow! It would help us financially if he would! Thanks

blackeyedsusan · 17/10/2011 07:18

ooo good luck mr blue

DutchOma · 17/10/2011 09:12

Prayers for Mr Blue, you are quite wicked putting the picture of Mr Tinkerbell into our mind BES How has your weekend been? Did you manage church?

ZipadiSoozi · 17/10/2011 09:33

Ooh Prayers for 'MrTinkerbell' that is such a hard profession to get into, they make it so tough.

bes - we are fine thank you, muddling through bitter sweet moments this week.

In fact today is a birthday celebration, my beautiful twins are 8yo, and very excited. Thank you God for my special little brood! xx

MaryBS · 17/10/2011 09:47

Happy birthday to the twins, sooz :)

Prayers for your DH, blue

DutchOma · 17/10/2011 10:27

Happy birthday Soozi's twins. I have been on MN such a long time, one of the first things I remember is them making free with the paint pot.

Bluetinkerbell · 17/10/2011 10:39

thanks all! I haven't heard anything yet, he should have finished his test an hour ago... hope it is good news...

Soozi happy birthday to your twins!

Bluetinkerbell · 17/10/2011 11:26

oh :( he failed... only just :(
but there is only a 30% pass rate...
better luck next time!

MaryBS · 17/10/2011 11:57

:( Blue, is he very disappointed?

Bluetinkerbell · 17/10/2011 12:02

Hmm a little... I just hope he passes next time, he only has 3 attempts and if he would fail next time that would put a lot of pressure on him having to pass in his final attempt.

MaryBS · 17/10/2011 12:15

Does he get useful feedback?

Bluetinkerbell · 17/10/2011 12:21

Yeah he does! :) and he needs to do an additional 5 hours of training before he can take his next test! At least now he knows how a real test goes (instead of watching DVD's about it) and can prepare himself for the next one...

blackeyedsusan · 17/10/2011 14:47

Sad blue

road closures meant we were late for school this morning. [upset]

the flats are being insulated and I have insualtion coming through the air bricks and white dust settling all over the flat. have had to put the car away twice and now need to post a half asleep ds through the small gap between the garage wall and car door. got to set off early to school as the road is closed for another 3 weeks.

madhairday · 17/10/2011 16:01

Blue :( sorry to hear that but hope he passes next time.

Got dparents staying this wk as dh on conference, need to write a sermon Shock would appreciate prayers!
