Spring into Summer - Christian Prayer Thread

It always amazes me to see the range of things we pray for: from praying for people with cancer at the one end of the range to praying for a lost telephone. With difficult mothers-in-law, marital difficulties and unfeeling fellow Christians all wrapped up in it somewhere.
And knowing with joyful certainty that God hears us all, that no request is too frivolous for Him and that He loves to hear our prayers.
So, I just want to pick out a few highlights to keep our prayers focussed:
We pray for Amberlight and Sweetestthing who are dealing with cancer. We commit the two of you to the care of our Lord and look forward to you sharing your progress with us. We are here for you, knowing how important praying friends are ? there is scientific evidence for this.

Then, there are a few of us struggling with health issues:- Madhairday and Gingercurl?s sister. I would also like to mention my dh, Bob, here. I so value your prayers because I find it very difficult to pray for myself and for him when the going gets tough.

BlackeyedSusan and Teaandcakeplease are both dealing with the break-up of their marriage and bringing up their children on their own. We pray for strength and also for the undivided support of the churches they belong to. Especially in BES? case we could wish for a bit more understanding.

With CazandBelle we rejoice over the latest scan and pray for peace of mind for the rest of the pregnancy. Do share your feelings with us Caz, if you are able.

PositiveAttitude brought two prayer requests concerning her dds. Dd2 was in a car crash a few weeks ago and really needed another car. Wonderfully, her boyfriend was able to come to her rescue. And dd3 lost her phone on a trip that was a miracle in itself after her recent illness. Here again, prayer was answered and a new phone supplied.

Dippy, we love you, thanks for prompting us to do a new summary. We grieve with you over the loss of friends, but rejoice over birthday parties and broody chickens.

Let?s pray.

oh dear, not had a very good conversation with h re access to the children. seems things may be getting more complicated.

amberlight · 07/08/2011 22:15

BES, heck - prayers aplenty

gingercurl · 07/08/2011 22:40

Prayers for RoseWei, BES and Amber and DO dd-in-law.
Thank you to you all for your prayers. Went to church tonight. Sermon seemed strangely apt to where I am at the moment, but, as always, I wonder if I read too much into it. In any case it fit very well with DO's words about "knowing God is God".

RoseWei · 08/08/2011 00:10

Thank you all for your kind words and prayers.
Things bad today. DS1 clearly very, very unhappy and confused and siblings not talking to him. I hope and pray his birthday on the 8th is as good as it can be. So hoping that the whole family will go out for a meal but it may only be DH, me and DS1.

Mental Health services a let down, I'm afraid. Getting support and ideas re that on another tread - thank God for MN.

Amber - am humbled by your positive attitude. Will be holding you and your family in my prayers this evening - also BES, DO's family, gingercurl - and all of you! Much time to make up tonight. Need to talk to God. He's been rather sidelined my me lately - and just when I've needed him.

Anniversary Dad's death tomorrow too - will sneak off from work to a church at lunchtime to light candles.

God bless xx

SweetestThing · 08/08/2011 11:26

RoseWei, praying hard for you and your family. Don't worry about feeling you have sidelined God - he is still there, right by your side, always.

Amber, much prayer for you on your last day of chemo. I pray it will go well for you and that you begin to recover quickly.

BES, praying that you and your H resolve things so you are more settled and less stressed.

Praying also for DO and her new arrival, gingercurl and her research and everyone else who is in need of an extra word with the Big Man.

Off to session 9 of radiotherapy today. Starting to feel the side effects now but determined to try and do some exercise today. Thank God for the wonderful medics and health care professionals who take such good care of patients like Amber and me at such difficult times.

madhairday · 08/08/2011 13:25

Bluetinkerbell · 08/08/2011 15:29

hi everyone! back from an absolutely wonderful and relaxing week in Taizé! Had lots of prayers for you all!

amberlight · 08/08/2011 17:08

Glad it was a good week, BTB.

Here, last chemo done, but in the middle of the chemo session dh rings from his eye specialists to say he has cataracts in both eyes and will need 2 operations. Which will now have to fit around my operation for breast cancer and recovery.
Will God please let us have a break at some stage? Please? Sad

DutchOma · 08/08/2011 17:43

Just a reminder about the meet-up here.

Prayers for Amber, DH and ST.

MHD - hope the move is going well

SweetestThing · 08/08/2011 22:21

Praying for those innocent folk caught up in the riots which are spreading through London and Birmingham. Such utter selfishness and disregard for fellow human beings just beggars belief.

blackeyedsusan · 08/08/2011 22:33

jaffa. not possible to suit us both, unless we carry on this arrangement which is a sot of compromise. very complicated situation and it could get very difficult.

PositiveAttitude · 09/08/2011 12:12

I have found you all again.

Thanks to God for a real blessed week away as a family. Absolutely wonderful and it really feels to DH and I that it was a relax before God moves us toward a new venture.

Just had a quick scroll through what I had missed. Prayers for everyone, especially Amber, Sweetest and Rose (Welcome)

Hope to be meeting up with some of you on Saturday! Smile

blackeyedsusan · 09/08/2011 22:28

apparently there was vandalism about a mile away from me last night and some reports of it going on again tonight. we are on the route to the city centre from there, so a little nervous.

MaryBS · 09/08/2011 22:39

Prayers for all affected by the riots. And for individual requests here.

A member of our congregation is in the police force and has been deployed to London/Croydon. Prayers for him and his family would be appreciated

amberlight · 10/08/2011 08:42

More prayers for all.
Friend of mine is possibly being recalled to emergency talks about the riots, but the talks will be right in the middle of the riot zone. Prayers for him and all involved in seeking peace would be appreciated.

blackeyedsusan · 10/08/2011 11:30

All was quiet here last night, well apart from ds who was shouting at me to pout the light back on at midnight when i finally went to bed. my fault for waking him up whilst changing a soggy naappy i suppose.

hope your friend is ok amber.

blackeyedsusan · 10/08/2011 22:52

one to make tacp feel "better"...... ds has been up to his tricks again and when I refused to let him run round the library, he bit me on the bum Shock he is biting a lot at the moment.

amber, how is your friend?

prayed for you friend mary.

Notquitegrownup · 11/08/2011 05:17

Hello

Just flying by to wish those of you going a wonderful time at the meet-up on Saturday. I was harbouring hopes of joining you but it looks like it is not meant to happen.

I will be with you in prayer, and hopefully will be joining you back on this lovely thread a bit more in the not too distant future.

God bless all xx

PS Where's Dippy gone?
PPS Yes, it is 5.15. Must try to get back to bed . . . . .

Teaandcakeplease · 11/08/2011 08:46

Ahhh BES I feel your pain!

PositiveAttitude · 11/08/2011 10:06

Whoever is coming on Saturday - See you there! Smile

SweetestThing · 11/08/2011 10:06

Good morning. Neither of our DC was a biter, thankfully, but I can imagine how difficult that must be to deal with.

Could I ask you to pray for a family from my church, please? They have been so kind and supportive of me since my diagnosis and they told me yesterday that their son, who was married only 3 months ago, was diagnosed with testicular cancer and has had a testicle removed and is now waiting to find out what further treatment is needed. They are devastated but have a very strong faith, which is helping them. I told the mum I would ask for prayers on this thread and she was so touched.

Prayers aplenty for everyone. x

madhairday · 11/08/2011 21:16

Just popping in amidst the chaos...

ST, praying for your friend right now.

Have a fab time whoever is at the meetup, would have loved to be there but couldn't be this time. I'm thinking on a meetup at one of the New wine women's days in March, anyone be up for that? Would be awesome.

Moving day is Monday, we are doing OK. May be broadband-less for a while once we go, hopefully not though.

Prayers for all

You OK CD? Mary?
