Spring into Summer - Christian Prayer Thread

It always amazes me to see the range of things we pray for: from praying for people with cancer at the one end of the range to praying for a lost telephone. With difficult mothers-in-law, marital difficulties and unfeeling fellow Christians all wrapped up in it somewhere.
And knowing with joyful certainty that God hears us all, that no request is too frivolous for Him and that He loves to hear our prayers.
So, I just want to pick out a few highlights to keep our prayers focussed:
We pray for Amberlight and Sweetestthing who are dealing with cancer. We commit the two of you to the care of our Lord and look forward to you sharing your progress with us. We are here for you, knowing how important praying friends are ? there is scientific evidence for this.

Then, there are a few of us struggling with health issues:- Madhairday and Gingercurl?s sister. I would also like to mention my dh, Bob, here. I so value your prayers because I find it very difficult to pray for myself and for him when the going gets tough.

BlackeyedSusan and Teaandcakeplease are both dealing with the break-up of their marriage and bringing up their children on their own. We pray for strength and also for the undivided support of the churches they belong to. Especially in BES? case we could wish for a bit more understanding.

With CazandBelle we rejoice over the latest scan and pray for peace of mind for the rest of the pregnancy. Do share your feelings with us Caz, if you are able.

PositiveAttitude brought two prayer requests concerning her dds. Dd2 was in a car crash a few weeks ago and really needed another car. Wonderfully, her boyfriend was able to come to her rescue. And dd3 lost her phone on a trip that was a miracle in itself after her recent illness. Here again, prayer was answered and a new phone supplied.

Dippy, we love you, thanks for prompting us to do a new summary. We grieve with you over the loss of friends, but rejoice over birthday parties and broody chickens.

Let?s pray.

amberlight · 09/07/2011 09:06

Littlefish, heck...much prayer...

DO put me down for a place if I'm feeling ok - they're delaying my last chemo to 8 Aug so 13th may be a bit tricky now but we'll see how I am.
BES, yup, definitely taking it easy after the mad whirl of the last few days. One CoE website address is www.churchofengland.org/our-views/marriage,-family-and-sexuality-issues/domestic-abuse.aspx if that's what you mean (not sure - brain a bit filled with chemicals today - let me know which one you meant if not??)

blackeyedsusan · 09/07/2011 10:20

thanks amber, you have a great memory.. you must be genius with no nasty chemicals floating around... Grin

can't look no, off out for a much delayed visit to see my mum.

Teaandcakeplease · 09/07/2011 20:24

God was with me just like you said OMA. Thank you for your prayers x

MaryBS · 09/07/2011 21:36

I've just thrown a minor strop, at an ignorant male who claims to know God's will on the subject of infertility, and is suggesting that women who try to conceive via IVF are thwarting/overriding/going against God's will Angry. An ignorant bigoted male who will never know the pain of infertility Angry

DutchOma · 09/07/2011 22:04

Goodd for you! Where was said ignorant male? Can we all throw something at him?

Its on a private board, DO, and I've just had an email to say he's been suspended for 3 months, for other inappropriate and insensitive comments.

MaryBS · 10/07/2011 07:38

And thanks BES, it did throw me a bit, because its always hard to stand up to bullies, although I'm still glad I did.

JentlyDoesIt · 10/07/2011 20:22

Evening all,

Littlefish - many prayers for you & your family at the really tough time Sad

Tacp - hurrah for a peaceful visit, I have to admit that I do the bingo game with my SIL Blush

Mary - Angry about that silly man, what a thoughtless thing to say Angry

I have been busy as usual Smile, saw take that last night, they were brill! My mum had got tickets for me & her and thoroughly spoilt me Smile. My friend who really kindly looked after the children text me in the afternoon to say that she had decided to keep them at hers (she lives with her mum, stepdad & youngest sister who the same age as my dd - big age gap!) so I could have a lie in! I cried at her kindness Blush but this morning was lovely - I had a whole cup of coffee before it went cold Grin

I wonder if you lovely lot would mind casting your eyes over my new project, my blog www.convictswife.com ? it's about this period in my life & stuff... Any / all comments welcome Smile thank you xx

Will have a look when I get chance, JDI. Prayers for you, anyhow.

SweetestThing · 11/07/2011 12:26

Hello, everyone.

Jen, read your blog - gave me a real insight into what you are dealing with. Thank you for sharing with us and stay strong and hopeful. You are on my prayer list, along with all the lovely ladies on here who need some support - I get plenty prayerful support from you all and it makes a big difference, for sure.

It's DD's birthday today - 23!! How did I get to be so old? She has just spent two days sailing round Rhode Island in the latest stage of her year travelling the world. This is the luxury stage!! She will find it very dull and ordinary when she returns home to us, but we can't wait till she comes back.

MadHairMoody · 11/07/2011 17:30

Hello lovely prayer thread ladies!

Jently I will definitely look at your blog. Must update mine sometime, it is sadly behind!

Littlefish :( Praying.

Mary - hey, good for you! Keep meaning to ask....have you thought any more about NW? There is still space :) Soooo excited now.

Many thanks for all prayers. Went to see my consultant on Friday. He is so good. He is concerned about me changing to a consultant who doesn't specialise in CF becuase he won't know the latest for my condition, so wants me either to stay with him or go elsewhere as Telford only has a general lung physician. So looking at Birmingham Heartlands, about half an hour away from Telford. The CF unit looks awesome, and they let you do home IVs which would be amazing not having to have long stays in 'the hotel'. I am quite excited actually, so going to try and get referred over there, and see what happens :)

MaryBS · 11/07/2011 18:59

Unfortunately can't afford NW, finances aren't briliant atm... thanks for thinking of us though. What news on the house/move?

Xavielli · 12/07/2011 08:33

Happy Birthday Dippy! x

amberlight · 12/07/2011 08:45

Morning all. Much prayer for everyone.

Bit down here, after finding out dispiriting news about national disability funding yesterday that means I've got to figure out very complicated solutions to things in a year where I was really hoping for a rest Sad I need to trust God.

Bluetinkerbell · 12/07/2011 11:58

MadHair you are not so far from me! We live about 20mins from Telford... if you ever want a Brew, or need any help with anything, let me know!

We had a wonderful weekend in Belgium at my sister's wedding! Managed to cope with the help of Wine DH got totally plastered and we had a great time on the dance floor Wink

But now reality has hit me all over again as we have to prepare Sterre's funeral. We still haven't heard anything back from the hospital, which is starting to worry me.

Jently I read your blog! Prayers for you! If you ever need any help, please let us know! you are so brave!

PA - thanks for the FB add for my alter ego Smile and the kind message

Am off to bed, happy dreams all!

Teaandcakeplease · 12/07/2011 21:35

Happy birthday Dippy.

Exhausted here. HTB lovely people are trying to persuade me to come to Focus 2011 on a bursary with kids. I'm scared about it as I only know the people I help with on the DSR course there. Kids are tricky and I have visions of struggling in a strange place with no one helping me. Daft old me as usual. Please pray I get an answer to this offer from God soon. I'm confused on what I "think" I hear because of my head/ emotions. I feel so alone so often at church as a lone parent. HTB have a great ministry with divorced/ lone parents my fears are probably unfounded but my experiences of struggling Sundays week in, week out to manage two toddlers usually at my home church and how lonely I feel have creeped to the surface. Off to bed, maybe typos, I'm exhausted and typing fast Blush Hopefully it makes some sense Confused
