Spring into Summer - Christian Prayer Thread

It always amazes me to see the range of things we pray for: from praying for people with cancer at the one end of the range to praying for a lost telephone. With difficult mothers-in-law, marital difficulties and unfeeling fellow Christians all wrapped up in it somewhere.
And knowing with joyful certainty that God hears us all, that no request is too frivolous for Him and that He loves to hear our prayers.
So, I just want to pick out a few highlights to keep our prayers focussed:
We pray for Amberlight and Sweetestthing who are dealing with cancer. We commit the two of you to the care of our Lord and look forward to you sharing your progress with us. We are here for you, knowing how important praying friends are ? there is scientific evidence for this.

Then, there are a few of us struggling with health issues:- Madhairday and Gingercurl?s sister. I would also like to mention my dh, Bob, here. I so value your prayers because I find it very difficult to pray for myself and for him when the going gets tough.

BlackeyedSusan and Teaandcakeplease are both dealing with the break-up of their marriage and bringing up their children on their own. We pray for strength and also for the undivided support of the churches they belong to. Especially in BES? case we could wish for a bit more understanding.

With CazandBelle we rejoice over the latest scan and pray for peace of mind for the rest of the pregnancy. Do share your feelings with us Caz, if you are able.

PositiveAttitude brought two prayer requests concerning her dds. Dd2 was in a car crash a few weeks ago and really needed another car. Wonderfully, her boyfriend was able to come to her rescue. And dd3 lost her phone on a trip that was a miracle in itself after her recent illness. Here again, prayer was answered and a new phone supplied.

Dippy, we love you, thanks for prompting us to do a new summary. We grieve with you over the loss of friends, but rejoice over birthday parties and broody chickens.

Let?s pray.

PA, much prayer
And much prayer for everyone else too

DutchOma · 06/07/2011 21:15

What an amazing story PA. Nothing can take that earlier miracle away. She will know that too. But for the sake of all of you and especially for her young son, we can only pray that she may be spared to care for him.
God is good. We need 'whatever' faith.

Hello, thanks for the warm welcome! Praying for the things that have been raised.

SweetestThing · 07/07/2011 10:08

Good morning.

pa, praying for that brave young woman.

Prayers for everyone else. There are times when we all need a bit of a squeezy hug from God.

SweetestThing · 07/07/2011 16:28

You wonderful ladies, I would very much appreciate additional prayers. Hospital rang me and they are now uncertain exactly what kind of cancer I have/had in the parotid gland, want to check there's nothing in the larynx or behind the tongue, have postponed the start of my treatment and I may end up having chemo as well as radiotherapy. I feel as if I am living a nightmare right now.

DutchOma · 07/07/2011 17:17

Oh my dear, that must be such a nightmare. Plenty of prayers being said for you. Hopefully it will show that you don't need chemo and that your radio therapy can begin as planned.

Love and Hugs and Prayers, SweetestThing

havealittlefaithbaby · 07/07/2011 18:08

Praying for you sweetestthing, keep us posted.

PositiveAttitude · 07/07/2011 18:48

Oh dear. Huge ((hugs)) and prayers for you Sweetest. Dont forget that God is in control. He knows what the future holds, because He holds it.

MadHairMoody · 07/07/2011 21:52

Sending love and prayers Sweetest. Praying you know God's peace and a sense of his arms holding you.

blackeyedsusan · 08/07/2011 07:14

how is everyone today?

havealittlefaithbaby · 08/07/2011 07:27

sweetest I was praying and had a verse for you, ephesians 6:10-20. I can't imagine what you're going through but know that we're all praying for you and God will give you the strength to endure it.

amberlight · 08/07/2011 09:02

Sweetest, grr re news. Much prayer for you. Chemo's been a bit of a mixed thing for me - mostly fairly ok thanks to the tips and tricks I was given. Really hope if you have it, it'll not be too bad for you. You've had quite enough already.

Prayers all round

SweetestThing · 08/07/2011 09:35

Thank you, all. You are truly a source of strength and support. That Bible passage made me cry, havealittlefaithbaby but also made me feel a bit stronger.

amberlight so glad that your chemo went better this time, although I am sure it was still pretty gruelling.

Still feeling fragile and a bit despondent but am sublimating those feelings into domestic activity, while still making sure I don't overdo it. The delights of tidying my teenage DS's room make quite a good displacement activity........

Praying hard for everyone, and for me!

DutchOma · 08/07/2011 13:32

When are you seeing the hospital next Sweetestthing?

OP posts:
gingercurl · 08/07/2011 13:46

Could do with some prayers here. DH and I need to make a decision for our DS' future.

SweetestThing · 08/07/2011 14:12

DO, we will be seeing the consultant next Friday but I should be getting a phone call on Wednesday after the MDT meeting.

gingercurl, praying that God will guide you and your DH to make the right decision for your DS.

amberlight · 08/07/2011 18:11

Chemo gets gruelling about 5 days after having it, so that'll be tomorrow through to next Wednesday. Just tired today.
Much more prayer for everyone...

Teaandcakeplease · 08/07/2011 20:21

Hello lovely ladies. My FIL is down and I'm feeling anxious and finding it all quite difficult. To those newer to the thread, I'm divorced as their son had an affair and chose the OW over me. But his family is dysfunctional and can be very critical, over bearing, undermining etc with me. Added complications with how different they parent to me and their ideas and it's so stressful for me Sad

Please pray for grace and wisdom tomorrow as FIL is here all day.

Prayers for all on this thread who need them x

DutchOma · 08/07/2011 20:36

Praying for you TACP. Remember:- "If God is for us, who can be against us?" That just has to include your FiL.
Praying for you and your dh as well Gingercurl that you will come to the right decision for your ds.
And prayers ongoing for Amber and Sweetestthing to deal with all the stuff the medical profession throws at you.

DutchOma · 08/07/2011 20:51

I have set up a thread for the meet-up here
Please add your name, everybody welcome

OP posts:
MaryBS · 08/07/2011 20:52

Is it not just a prayer thread meetup then, DO?

Littlefish · 08/07/2011 20:57

You lovely ladies supported me with your prayers earlier this year, and I'm back to ask for more.

My darling cousin who is still a teenager has been moved to the hospice. Treatment for her cancer has stopped. She's been in the hospice for a week now and I fear that she will not come out. Please could you particularly pray for her father who is struggling to cope, and for her mother who is being so incredibly strong.

DutchOma · 08/07/2011 21:55

For the Doxology etc thread as well, friends welcome, and I hope some people from our church might come too. Do people think that is a good idea? It's a big venue, with lots of space.

OP posts:
DutchOma · 08/07/2011 21:56

Praying for your cousin, Littlefish and for you and her parents. Such a very hard thing to have to deal with, many prayers.
