Spring into Summer - Christian Prayer Thread

It always amazes me to see the range of things we pray for: from praying for people with cancer at the one end of the range to praying for a lost telephone. With difficult mothers-in-law, marital difficulties and unfeeling fellow Christians all wrapped up in it somewhere.
And knowing with joyful certainty that God hears us all, that no request is too frivolous for Him and that He loves to hear our prayers.
So, I just want to pick out a few highlights to keep our prayers focussed:
We pray for Amberlight and Sweetestthing who are dealing with cancer. We commit the two of you to the care of our Lord and look forward to you sharing your progress with us. We are here for you, knowing how important praying friends are ? there is scientific evidence for this.

Then, there are a few of us struggling with health issues:- Madhairday and Gingercurl?s sister. I would also like to mention my dh, Bob, here. I so value your prayers because I find it very difficult to pray for myself and for him when the going gets tough.

BlackeyedSusan and Teaandcakeplease are both dealing with the break-up of their marriage and bringing up their children on their own. We pray for strength and also for the undivided support of the churches they belong to. Especially in BES? case we could wish for a bit more understanding.

With CazandBelle we rejoice over the latest scan and pray for peace of mind for the rest of the pregnancy. Do share your feelings with us Caz, if you are able.

PositiveAttitude brought two prayer requests concerning her dds. Dd2 was in a car crash a few weeks ago and really needed another car. Wonderfully, her boyfriend was able to come to her rescue. And dd3 lost her phone on a trip that was a miracle in itself after her recent illness. Here again, prayer was answered and a new phone supplied.

Dippy, we love you, thanks for prompting us to do a new summary. We grieve with you over the loss of friends, but rejoice over birthday parties and broody chickens.

Let?s pray.

Makes perfect sense to me TACP,. Want to know what I think? Oma thinks you shouldn't be silly, grab it with two hands and go. How can anybody help you if you're not there to be helped?

Lots of love

OP posts:
MaryBS · 13/07/2011 08:30

I agree DO, TACP you should grab it with both hands :)

SweetestThing · 13/07/2011 09:10

Good morning and a belated Happy Birthday to Dippy.

Prayers continuing for all in need. Today I am in great need of God's help and guidance for my medical team, as they meet to discuss my diagnosis and treatment. I pray that I will get some certainty from them to know what I am dealing with and that God will support them in their work. A worrying time for DH, the DCs and me, to say the least!

blackeyedsusan · 13/07/2011 12:36

another single mum feeling blue. they have got this wonderful new garden scheme going on at school. local tv at the launch... but I have yet to find out whether it is going to be any use to dd. gardening club does not start til y3. it is just sickening that htere is a resource sitting there waiting to be used and a child who doesn't have a garden can't use it.

MadHairMoody · 13/07/2011 15:35

Special hugs and prayers for BES, TACP and Sweetest today....

TACP, in full agreement with DO and Mary - go for it, take the opportunity, you will love it I'm sure. x

BoxofDelights · 14/07/2011 01:39

Adding my prayers to the concerns of all. My private messaging isn't working, so I'm afraid I can't respond to your kind message Oma. I am off to London on Thursday again, for more job meetings to see what employment opportunities I have from the end of the month, I am also taking steps to resolve some quite serious financial difficulties (which is exacerbated by a bank's administrative error!). So this week is becoming quite significant.

blackeyedsusan · 14/07/2011 07:47

aaaaggggghhhh I have missed an important meeting for dd. now I am going to an meeting at school with the special needs coordinator this morning before I can get in contact with the ot to apologise and find out the relevant information that I missed. I feel awful. i needed that information to fight for provision.

please pray that school will provide a writing slope that is needed and that i will get to speak to the ot by phone later.

h also has a job interview (by phone) today and it would be good if he got to the next round.

DutchOma · 14/07/2011 08:45

Yes, all sorts of things are disabled, but prayer fortunately does not come under the capabilities of the techs.
BOD on my profile there is a dedicated e.mail address [email protected] (I think) I don't think there is any objection to giving that out through here, since the profile is not visible either.

Otherwise prayers for all, hope you get the provision for dd sorted BES

MadHairMoody · 14/07/2011 13:40

BES hope you get the info you need to sort stuff out for dd. I'm sure the SENCO will be understanding to catch up.

praying the week is significant in a good way!

Can you pray for my seekers ladies. It's my last week with them next thurs and it has been an amazing privilege to sree them come through this way. This morning we prayed with each one of them and prayed they would know God's presence and the power of the Holy Spirit. Please pray God will seal this in them and for protection for them. it's all so fragile. seeing amazing answers to prayers!

blackeyedsusan · 14/07/2011 14:57

oh deepest joy, she has been discharged from ot, she can be rereferred... have the letter now to ring the number and discuss. which will have to be tomorrow now. also need to chase up re the writing slope. dd is bright(don't we all say that) but not able to write much because of physical difficulties so can't show what she can do. having ot and the writing slope will help. an hours intervetion twice a week has helped a lot. there is just not time to fit that in at home after school. it is exhausting on top of normal living. (single parent with no respite) health visitor recommended that h not have unsupervised care of the children, ss left the decision up to me (thanks a lot!) just shattered and trying to make the end of term.

DutchOma · 14/07/2011 17:00

Only one more week BES

JentlyDoesIt · 14/07/2011 20:37

Oh BES you sound near the end of your rope Sad many prayers for you, I have a friend who's having some woes with senco too

Box - prayers for the phone interview, how did it go for Dh?

TACP - grab it & hold it tight Smile

I have ds's appeal hearing tomorrow for his primary school place, I'm terrified Sad. I have been given some great advice by people & need to be brave & strong for my little boy. Any prayers you could chuck my way greatly appreciated xx

Teaandcakeplease · 14/07/2011 20:39

I contacted htb and they have no children's places left for under 10's. So if I did go I'd miss all the teaching, as I'd have to look after the kids 24-7. Perhaps I dithered for too long before contacting them

blackeyedsusan · 14/07/2011 21:50

jently. have prayed. hope all goes well.

DutchOma · 14/07/2011 21:54

Well, there' your answer then, TACP Next time better. Are you on a reserve list?

OP posts:
blackeyedsusan · 15/07/2011 07:53

good luck today jently...

h has got an interview. he is not feeling very positive about it. for the childrens sake he needs to get a job.

MaryBS · 15/07/2011 08:03

Good idea about the reserve list, DO. Worth asking!

Praying for your h, BES. He needs to put on a brave face and do his best. Hope your phone call goes well...

Prayers, JDI for the appeal hearing... its in God's hands...

gingercurl · 15/07/2011 10:06

DS this morning: "Daddy, can you, mummy and me go to church together?"
So my agnostic/atheist/don't-know-what-but-not-anti-faith DH has just said that he will have to come with us to church on Sunday morning. Grin I just hope and pray that it will be a good service.
Prayers for everyone.

mufti · 15/07/2011 10:10

thinking of you JDI

thats fab gingercurl, wish mine would too.

MaryBS · 15/07/2011 10:12

gingercurl, thats how DH started... he was confirmed last year :)

amberlight · 15/07/2011 10:44

Prayers continuing for all.

Off to GP in about an hour to ask about heart rate problems that may be related to this chemotherapy. Could do with prayer that it turns out to be something minor... Confused

MadHairMoody · 15/07/2011 18:33

Praying, amber

Prayers please for a friend's dad who has been dx with terminal cancer, basically it is everywhere and v v sudden, her dc are finding it difficult, unsurprisingly....please pray for comfort and peace for them all. Thanks.

blackeyedsusan · 15/07/2011 19:29

how did the gp go amber?

Bluetinkerbell · 15/07/2011 21:24

Can I ask for some prayers for our youth club Roots? I was supposed to start it up on the day we found out Sterre had died. Volunteers from the parish have been running it since, but it doesn't have the intake we hoped it would have. I think it is probably because I have been absent and not being able to link with the children in school.

praying for you amber how did it go?

MHM praying for your friend's dad and their family

oh and I'd like to ask for some prayers for myself as I will try to phase back into work next week.

gingercurl · 16/07/2011 07:48

Praying.
Thank you, God. This morning, I found by engagement ring, that I wrote about a while back and has been missing since March, while looking for a specific car for my son in his toy boxes. Goodness knows how it got there.
