Spring into Summer - Christian Prayer Thread

It always amazes me to see the range of things we pray for: from praying for people with cancer at the one end of the range to praying for a lost telephone. With difficult mothers-in-law, marital difficulties and unfeeling fellow Christians all wrapped up in it somewhere.
And knowing with joyful certainty that God hears us all, that no request is too frivolous for Him and that He loves to hear our prayers.
So, I just want to pick out a few highlights to keep our prayers focussed:
We pray for Amberlight and Sweetestthing who are dealing with cancer. We commit the two of you to the care of our Lord and look forward to you sharing your progress with us. We are here for you, knowing how important praying friends are ? there is scientific evidence for this.

Then, there are a few of us struggling with health issues:- Madhairday and Gingercurl?s sister. I would also like to mention my dh, Bob, here. I so value your prayers because I find it very difficult to pray for myself and for him when the going gets tough.

BlackeyedSusan and Teaandcakeplease are both dealing with the break-up of their marriage and bringing up their children on their own. We pray for strength and also for the undivided support of the churches they belong to. Especially in BES? case we could wish for a bit more understanding.

With CazandBelle we rejoice over the latest scan and pray for peace of mind for the rest of the pregnancy. Do share your feelings with us Caz, if you are able.

PositiveAttitude brought two prayer requests concerning her dds. Dd2 was in a car crash a few weeks ago and really needed another car. Wonderfully, her boyfriend was able to come to her rescue. And dd3 lost her phone on a trip that was a miracle in itself after her recent illness. Here again, prayer was answered and a new phone supplied.

Dippy, we love you, thanks for prompting us to do a new summary. We grieve with you over the loss of friends, but rejoice over birthday parties and broody chickens.

Let?s pray.

Hello everyone and welcome to havealittlefaithbaby - this is a fabulous thread, with room for all kinds of certainty and all kinds of doubt, always met with friendly, kindly, faithful responses.

SESthebrave - I am in East Surrey, in Oxted - I guess I must be quite near you! I would love to meet for a cup of tea or a stroll on the Downs sometime :)

blackeyedsusan · 04/07/2011 22:27

grrr... ds had a leaky nappy in the living room. (all down his leg, toddler diarrhoea will it never end leaky) searching for wwhere he was sitting.

Bluetinkerbell · 04/07/2011 22:35

oh no Bes DD had toddler diarrhoea last year for about 3 weeks! hope it finishes soon and praying for no more leaky accidents!

blackeyedsusan · 04/07/2011 23:35

this is a lot more than 3 weeks. this is on and off for a couple of years (mostly on) we have been to see the consultant who diagnosed toddler diarrhoea. yesterdaay he had rather a lot iof veggies and ate out. the combination is usually runny... it has not been so bad recently so things are looking up. there have been less leaks... i am expert at scraping poo out of clothes...

blackeyedsusan · 04/07/2011 23:37

sorry, that sounds unsympathetic. tired, upset and very hormonal tonight. thanks...

waiting for the hormone thunderstorm to break

blackeyedsusan · 05/07/2011 07:31

3am (still dark) ds wakes and cries out

4am again... and awake til 6 am

i am struggling...

DutchOma · 05/07/2011 08:59

I bet you are struggling. Not sleeping when it is still dark at this time of year is dire. Not much practical help to give, but many prayers for a better day for you and all on this thread.

Specially Amber with her penultimate chemo treatment.

Bluetinkerbell · 05/07/2011 09:10

bes that's ok I understand! try to take it easy today! x

blackeyedsusan · 05/07/2011 11:18

zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

madhairday · 05/07/2011 12:31

BES....hope and pray you get some rest sometime today.

Amber - praying today lovely.

DS had an asthma attack in the night. He hadn't had one for months, thought he might have grown out of it. It was horrid, he was all croupy too. He is so tired so kept him off school today, he is fine, happily playing on his ds, still coughing a lot though. Would appreciate prayers that he gets better.

amberlight · 05/07/2011 16:50

Chemo 7 now done. At home and resting. Blood results fine but I'm getting a lot of fluid retention in ankles and feet now so may chat to GP about it as nurse didn't have a lot of ideas.
Prayers all round
xx

SESthebrave · 05/07/2011 21:09

BES - prayers for an improvement in your DS's sleep and diarrhoea situation. Hope you managed to get some rest today and get a good (better at least!) night tonight.

Amber - glad your blood tests were fine. With regard to the fluid retention, you may have tried support tights and also sitting with your feet higher than your heart (even better with a bag of frozen peas on your ankles!) but just in case, do give them a go. Prayers for God's peace and healing for you.

MHD - prayers for your DS. Hope he is recovering well from the asthma attack.

Bluetinkerbell - continued prayers for you. How are you doing?

Sweetest - I reckon I'm less than 10 miles from you! I'm between Redhill and Chipstead off the A23. Would be lovely to meet up - I'll PM you when we're back from Ireland.

Oh yes, we're off to Ireland at the weekend for DH's 40th birthday. Off to see his family which will be lovely. Then I'm in the process of organising a surprise birthday party for him on Sat 16th.

Bluetinkerbell · 05/07/2011 22:00

Hi SES I'm bearing up! Had to go to GP today as I have a bladder infection, he didn't even ask how I was doing.
Trying to cope with people staring at me and not saying anything. I can cope with people asking me what happened, but I'm just feeling very paranoid about people looking at me.
Like our neighbours, a lovely couple, but I just can't tell them I lost the baby, don't know how to.
Still haven't heard anything from the hospital!
This week I'm trying to focus on my sister's wedding coming weekend! Next week will be preparing Sterre's funeral a bit more!

BES I hope you had a nice rest today!

Amber I hope you get lots of nice rest as well and that the swelling will go away soon!

MHD praying for your DS that he recovers soon!

Praying for everyone!

SweetestThing · 05/07/2011 22:05

Prayers for all and especially amber - I hope your ankles go back to normal and that you reach the end of your chemo in as good shape as possible. Stay positive!

SES - I would love to meet up - enjoy Ireland and I look forward to hearing from you. I hope the birthday celebrations go well.

BES - hope your DS is improving and that you get some rest and that MHD's DS is also on the mend.

Dutch Oma as always, you give such comfort and support through your words. Thank you.

Praying for peace and courage to everyone who needs it.

PositiveAttitude · 06/07/2011 07:24

Life sounds really hectic at the moment for you Blue, take it easy and dont expect too much of yourself. Prayers for you.

Amber prayers continuing for you. Hope the swelling is shortlived!

Sweetest continuing prayers for you, too.

Prayers for Caz, if you are around, how many weeks are you now?

Have a fab weekend SES.

Waves to DO, CD, Mary, Jen, TACP and everyone else! Grin

I am taking DD2 for a treat afternoon today, sort of a celebration of her finishing her A levels, as well as reaching her fund raising target for her gap year next year. (Thanks to God for providing this for her) We are going to have lunch together and then to a spa to have our feet nibbled by fish Grin

blackeyedsusan · 06/07/2011 07:41

PositiveAttitude · 06/07/2011 08:37

BES - glad you got a good nights sleep.

Can I ask you lovely ladies to pray for a lady I have just had a phone call about. She is a lovely Christian lady who was diagnosed with terminal cancer about 5 years ago. She was told there was nothing they could do. SHe was in her 20s. She went to a prayer meeting, was prayed for and felt the cancer go away. It was a wonderful wonderful answer to prayer. She was all over the local papers and her consultant became a Christian because of her healing and many other people across the island were touched by her story. While she was unwell she got married. When she was given the all clear she was told that there was no way she could have children. God told her differently and a year later she was pregnant. He is now a year old. I have had a call this morning to say that she is really ill again. Not expected to live more than a few days/weeks. She is asking for another miracle .

got to go.

SweetestThing · 06/07/2011 08:52

PA, prayers for that brave young woman - may God enfold her in his caring and endless love and support her and her family through this trial. How sad.

MaryBS · 06/07/2011 09:54

Prayers for that lady... God is good.

madhairday · 06/07/2011 10:13

Prayers for that brave lady, PA. What an amazing story and how difficult for her now. God is good indeed, and God is behind us and in front and all around, whatever happens.

Thanks for prayers for ds - he had a better night and is back at school.

gingercurl · 06/07/2011 10:24
