Spring into Summer - Christian Prayer Thread

It always amazes me to see the range of things we pray for: from praying for people with cancer at the one end of the range to praying for a lost telephone. With difficult mothers-in-law, marital difficulties and unfeeling fellow Christians all wrapped up in it somewhere.
And knowing with joyful certainty that God hears us all, that no request is too frivolous for Him and that He loves to hear our prayers.
So, I just want to pick out a few highlights to keep our prayers focussed:
We pray for Amberlight and Sweetestthing who are dealing with cancer. We commit the two of you to the care of our Lord and look forward to you sharing your progress with us. We are here for you, knowing how important praying friends are ? there is scientific evidence for this.

Then, there are a few of us struggling with health issues:- Madhairday and Gingercurl?s sister. I would also like to mention my dh, Bob, here. I so value your prayers because I find it very difficult to pray for myself and for him when the going gets tough.

BlackeyedSusan and Teaandcakeplease are both dealing with the break-up of their marriage and bringing up their children on their own. We pray for strength and also for the undivided support of the churches they belong to. Especially in BES? case we could wish for a bit more understanding.

With CazandBelle we rejoice over the latest scan and pray for peace of mind for the rest of the pregnancy. Do share your feelings with us Caz, if you are able.

PositiveAttitude brought two prayer requests concerning her dds. Dd2 was in a car crash a few weeks ago and really needed another car. Wonderfully, her boyfriend was able to come to her rescue. And dd3 lost her phone on a trip that was a miracle in itself after her recent illness. Here again, prayer was answered and a new phone supplied.

Dippy, we love you, thanks for prompting us to do a new summary. We grieve with you over the loss of friends, but rejoice over birthday parties and broody chickens.

Let?s pray.

the day gets worse, had a run in with a neighbour, her son let the dog out and it came poking its head in the car door whilst i was eating, shouted at it to go away, but the dog is not called off, trying to fend it off with my feet as my hands are full with food and get accused of kicking it... couldn't shut the door ithout trapping its head.

on the up side though the sink and bath seem to be flowing better, though i am not convinced that all the black gunk went all the way through the pipe and one way valve to the outside world.... so may have similar problems. going to buy a large supply of soda crystals to scour the pipes every month week

MaryBS · 30/06/2011 17:10

Hope and pray things have improved by now, BES...

CaptainDippy · 30/06/2011 19:51

Love, Hugs and Prayers to all Smile xx

amberlight · 01/07/2011 08:46

More prayers for everyone...

SweetestThing · 01/07/2011 18:47

Prayers for all you lovely ladies (and any men?)

Royal Marsden today to discuss my treatment plan - very pleased to learn that they are not planning any chemo for me. Dental check in London next week to check that I don't need any work done before the radiotherapy, hearing test at the Fulham branch of the Marsden, mask fitting on Friday and CT scan the following Monday and then radiotherapy sessions start on Monday 19th - every day, Monday to Friday, for 6 weeks. It will be gruelling but I just want to get started now.

We were so impressed with the competence and co-ordination of the Marsden. Everyone filled us with confidence and for a change, I had women consultants and registrars - quite refreshing! :)

DutchOma · 01/07/2011 20:58

Many praers for you SweetestThing. Will you have to travel to Royal Marsden every day or will you be an in-patient? Both quite hard.

SweetestThing · 01/07/2011 21:17

Thank you DO - we live about 20 - 30 minutes drive from the hospital, so it will be a daily journey: much better than being an in-patient, but tiring in its own way.

DutchOma · 01/07/2011 21:45

Will you have to drive or be driven or is there public transport? Whatever it is, it is a tiring journey. But at least you are underway with your treatment.

I am putting together a rota of volunteers, including DH, DS, church friends, neighbours and other friends. I am just so relieved that finally the next phase is going to start, even though the side effects sound pretty grim. But worth it when I think of the alternative!

Hello I'm new to this part of MN . I've been a Christian for nearly 14 years and on MN since January. Ttc dc#1 for 18 months. Would like to ask for prayer but also to pray for others. I've found MN very helpful but sometimes taking my attention that could be used more wisely!
sweetestthing I'll be praying for you!

DutchOma · 02/07/2011 09:08

Welcome, havealittlefaithbaby. We are a silly lot, so coming on here may not be using your 'time wisely'. But we are also a great support to one another, so, on balance, maybe...

havealittlefaithbaby hello

havealittlefaithbaby · 02/07/2011 12:27

Hello!

madhairday · 02/07/2011 15:26

Hello havealittlefaithbaby :)

I waste far too much time on here, but find it a great support too, so it balances in the end I reckon.

Thanks for prayers for dd - she has had a better week, and is really excited about the new school which we went to see yesterday - it seems absolutely lovely. Awesome answer to prayer - and the house too.

Praying for all - will read through more closely now.

amberlight · 02/07/2011 17:59

Sweetestthing, lots of prayers for you.
havealittlefaithbaby, hi!
Is it wasting time to be talking to people and discussing things and enjoying life and learning stuff and praying for folk etc? I'd say it isn't. Friends are what makes life worth living.

JentlyDoesIt · 02/07/2011 20:40

SESthebrave · 02/07/2011 21:42

Sweetest - prayers for you as you enter this next stage. I don't think you can live that far from me from what you've said (I'm north east Surrey) so if you do ever need help with anything or just a friendly catch up over a coffee, give me a shout!

Havealittlefaithbaby - hello! I've only recently joined this thread and already finding it useful and supportive.

MHD - prayers of praise for answer to prayer and for continued improvement for DD and for your move

Prayers for everyone else too!

Good news here is that I've finally had a BFN so can move forwards a bit further following mc and after AF will start the ttc rollercoaster again!

havealittlefaithbaby · 02/07/2011 21:55

I know what yoy mean, it's always a done line between support from MN and me getting too absorbed and being distracted from what I should be going! Nice to know I'm

havealittlefaithbaby · 02/07/2011 21:55

...on a Christian thread though! Thanks for the warm welcome :)
