Spring into Summer - Christian Prayer Thread

It always amazes me to see the range of things we pray for: from praying for people with cancer at the one end of the range to praying for a lost telephone. With difficult mothers-in-law, marital difficulties and unfeeling fellow Christians all wrapped up in it somewhere.
And knowing with joyful certainty that God hears us all, that no request is too frivolous for Him and that He loves to hear our prayers.
So, I just want to pick out a few highlights to keep our prayers focussed:
We pray for Amberlight and Sweetestthing who are dealing with cancer. We commit the two of you to the care of our Lord and look forward to you sharing your progress with us. We are here for you, knowing how important praying friends are ? there is scientific evidence for this.

Then, there are a few of us struggling with health issues:- Madhairday and Gingercurl?s sister. I would also like to mention my dh, Bob, here. I so value your prayers because I find it very difficult to pray for myself and for him when the going gets tough.

BlackeyedSusan and Teaandcakeplease are both dealing with the break-up of their marriage and bringing up their children on their own. We pray for strength and also for the undivided support of the churches they belong to. Especially in BES? case we could wish for a bit more understanding.

With CazandBelle we rejoice over the latest scan and pray for peace of mind for the rest of the pregnancy. Do share your feelings with us Caz, if you are able.

PositiveAttitude brought two prayer requests concerning her dds. Dd2 was in a car crash a few weeks ago and really needed another car. Wonderfully, her boyfriend was able to come to her rescue. And dd3 lost her phone on a trip that was a miracle in itself after her recent illness. Here again, prayer was answered and a new phone supplied.

Dippy, we love you, thanks for prompting us to do a new summary. We grieve with you over the loss of friends, but rejoice over birthday parties and broody chickens.

Let?s pray.

amberlight · 14/06/2011 15:49

Mufti, yup, mammograms are Not Fun. Prayers for the results now.

Sweetest, yay re the referral!!!! Not too much info at all. Rest up all you can...

As you can see, I'm back from chemo and feeling absolutely fine. Thank you so much everyone for your prayers - much appreciated...

DutchOma · 14/06/2011 16:04

That's good SweetestThing about the referral. Hopefully they will soon get the better of both your and Amber's cancer and Mufti's will come to nothing. Lumps like this should have no place in our bodies, and all my prayer is that they will be gone.

feeling abit sorry for myself today, mainly due to being tired after being up in the night with poorly dcs a lot recantly, being a bit under the weather myself and having to have a quiet word to ds new nursery to update them about the home situation and how it has changed since dd left and how it has affected ds.

Afternoon all

Just done the school summer fayre, as usual it was very few people doing all the work, we can't seem to get more help on the PTA, so utterly exhausted now. Long bath and early bed I think tonight.

Praying for all...

Teaandcakeplease · 16/06/2011 18:46

Holiday was amazing. God was with me every step of the way on provision, kids being fantastic on the drive, my friend being a huge blessing on the hooliday. The list is endless. So thank you for your prayers lovely ladies.

Hello Cheerful x

blackeyedsusan · 16/06/2011 23:04

ds has come out in spots now. they appeared in the space of 30 minutes... wondering if it is an allergy or the same as dd had...

amberlight · 17/06/2011 09:39

Keeping prayers going. Could do with one for tomorrow if at all possible - trying to get to www.oxford.anglican.org/children/childrens-work-training/mend-the-gap.html and need to be as fit and well as possible for this to work.

JentlyDoesIt · 17/06/2011 20:19

Also keeping prayers going and lurking about.

Went to see DP today with his dad & stepmum. 6 months ago today he was just starting out on this "journey". I also had to face the police officer who brought this case against him which was hard. He brought me dp's passport back (had to surrender it during case) & when I opened the door he said "Hi! How you doing?!" AngrySadConfused I declined to answer for fear of either losing my temper or bursting into tears Sad

I miss DP so very much... 2 hours twice / 3 times a month isn't really a lot but means so much

So sorry for rambling on Blush praying for better weather over the weekend Smile been a bit waterlogged here this week!

Much love & prayers
Xx

Teaandcakeplease · 17/06/2011 20:24

You're not rambling Jently! It must be so hard for you all Sad Talk as much as you need to on here x

JentlyDoesIt · 17/06/2011 21:10

Thank you tacp Smile so glad you had a wonderful holiday

SESthebrave · 17/06/2011 21:23

Just dipping a toe in on this thread. Know many of you from the chat thread but really would like to get involved and support on this thread. I've had a few prayer issues in the past but what I do know is that the more I pray, the closer to God I get and the more he is able to work through me. That can all only be good!

Jently - I'm not fully aware of your situation but it does sound tough. Praying for you and DP and your families.

amberlight - tomorrow looks like a good day! Prayers that it works out for you, that you get there ok and feel well enough

mufti - prayers for your results

BES - prayers for your DS's rash. Sounds like you could do with a few weeks of the family being well.

Teaandcakeplease - glad you had a good holiday - prayers of thanks!

Hello DO, MHD, PA and anyone else I've not "met" before :)

Bluetinkerbell · 17/06/2011 21:37

hi all, I've been lurking on the prayer thread from time to time... and I feel the need to ask for your prayers please.
I've had my 20 week anomaly scan this morning, where they couldn't pick up the heartbeat of our little one. Was confirmed by a second sonographer. They said the baby measured about 16 weeks. I had heard the heartbeat at a checkup at the MW at 15w4d.
I've had to take a pill and I'm now waiting for labour to start, and told to go in on Sunday if nothing happens before that.
Please pray for me and my DH to gives us strength to get through the next few days and telling our DD (2,5) what happened to her little baby in Mummy's belly... thanks!

Teaandcakeplease · 17/06/2011 22:04

Oh no, oh Bluetinkerbell many prayers and ((hugs)) for you at this painful time x

gingercurl · 17/06/2011 23:39

Oh, Bluetinkerbell. So very, very sad. Many prayers for you and your family.
Amber, praying you will be well tomorrow.
Hi, SES, please, make yourself at home.
Keeping prayers going.
DH has an appointment for his scan on Tuesday next week, so that was quick.

blackeyedsusan · 17/06/2011 23:55

blue Sad

CheerfulYank · 18/06/2011 04:23

Oh no Blue. I'm so sorry. I will pray for you and your family and your little one.

DutchOma · 18/06/2011 07:14

Many prayers for Bluetinkerbell, all so very sad. Prayers especially for your dd. When it happened to us we told ds that the baby had to go back to the Lord Jesus, because it wasnt quite right yet to come to us.
Prayers too for Gingercurl's dh and for Amber today.

And pray for me today please as Bob goes to his sister's for a fortnight to give me a break. I will have a few days at home and am planning to go to London for a wander round. If the weather is reasonable I will go to Kew. On Tuesday I will go to Holalnd to see my favourite brother for a week. All good, but for some reason I feel hugely churned up and nervous about it. Thanks.
