MN Christian Prayer Request Thread: : Back to school soon

DutchOma · 29/08/2010 21:44

It's been a while since I did an update for the prayer thread; I hope that God will remember those I forget:

Thanks be to God for wonderful exam results for MrsCadwallader and for PositiveAttitude dh's new job.
Prayers for Jentlydoesit's DP to find a new job before the money runs out.

Several regulars on the thread find life quite tough at the moment for one reason or another, let's bear each other up in prayer and practical help where possible: CaptainDippy, M44 (whose very much loved mother-in-law died last week), PositiveAttitude, Teaandcakeplease, Madhairday, Blueeyeshadow, Shieldbug (please pray that all fibroids and cysts will disappear before the next consultant's appointment)

Special thoughts go to Swaliswan for the healing of her marriage and for a safe pregnancy and delivery. Also for Hermya321, it's getting close now, only a few more weeks to go.

We pray for the family in MaMoTTaT's church who lost a daughter at a relatively young age. MaMoTTaT will be better known as FAQ or ToccataandFudge,( how I loved that name)

Last but not least we pray for Amberlight in her worry about ds who is struggling with eye problems for which he needs an operation and who is also having tests for hormonal problems. Please pray for as good an outcome as possible, so that he can carry on with his A-levels and rugby. And for peace of mind for Amber, who really could do with the pressure off for a bit.

So let's give thanks to God for His presence among us and get praying....

Just quickly popping in - I'm working really! - to say that I'm praying. Hugs and apple cake to anyone in need!

We had a really good week, if a bit stressful at times. DS2's birthday was great, a lovely time with my family, perfect weather for the wedding, DS1 was a brilliant page boy, my brother and new SIL were so happy and I felt a sense of connection with God during the wedding that I've missed Grin. Thank you all for your prayers and thank you God. :)

My friends partner has had his results - it is bone cancer. The cancer is isolated at the moment, which is a 'positive', and they've been told it doesn't need surgery - but chemo to shrink it.

They are both shattered by the news. Please pray they are given strength to get through this and God is with him through his treatment, and with the birth of their new baby - due by end of Sept.

DutchOma · 15/09/2010 17:34

Very hard for them to cope with Cazem.
Someone forwarded this to me this afternoon and I copy it here because I don't know how to do a link to the website

A small request.. Just one line.
Dear God, I pray for a cure for cancer. Amen

teaandcakeplease · 17/09/2010 08:08

I'm off later today for the weekend to Swanage. Getting nervous now about the packing and remembering everything and how well they'll sleep in a tent etc. Gah!

shieldbug · 17/09/2010 10:18

I didn't sleep well last night so was able to pray for lots of you!

swaliswan how are you? I'm still praying for you and your dh. Hope your pg is going well.

Swaliswan · 17/09/2010 22:06

I'm going to be brief because I must go to bed.

Thanks for all prayers about marriage. Huge things are happening and it's all positive GrinGrinGrin I hate the way the devil knows exactly how to attack us for the biggest effect.

Please, please, please will people pray for healing for B and enough sleep tonight (oh, and no trips to A&E!). B has croup again. DH and DM are away this weekend. I'm only still up because I've been doing my tesco online order. I know that the Lord will provide us with what we need. I'm hoping that He thinks that we need a good night's sleep!

I'm off to bed.

Oh, pg is going well. No more bleeding and LOTS of movement. Very tired and struggling to cope with two toddlers plus working and being pg.

I guess I should also say that work has been exceptionally stressful this week. The worst point was when I caught a patient as he went into cardiac arrest Shock but this was just a very small part of a very long, tiring and demanding three day week. I can't physically or mentally carry on like this at work.

And breathe.................

CaptainDippy · 18/09/2010 13:38

Praying B stays well. xxx

Hermya321 · 18/09/2010 13:41

Hello all,

Praying for you all!!

Briefly from me, I'm getting more and more tired and achey as I get bigger. I've been getting rib pain, headaches and now my SPD is playing up more now that LO has decided to start engaging. I'm taking it one day at a time with work and praying for wisdom as it'll impact our finances.

Work is going well, I managed to get the majority of my NVQ's done so that I won't have much left to do when I go back.

Other than that, I'm getting very impaitent and excited to meet the LO and get this pregnancy over and done with.

MrsCadwallader · 18/09/2010 15:35

Prayers for all :)

A quick prayer request please - tomorrow our church is starting up a once-a-month afternoon service for families, with lots of activities and songs etc. It's something that our vicar and the ministry team have been planning and working towards for a long time. Please pray that it will be successful, and that lots of families come along!

madhairday · 18/09/2010 18:39

Praying for your service Mrs C. Sounds great. It it like Messy Church? We are also starting up something similar at the moment.

Hermya, when are you due? Praying for you as you go through all the aches etc of late pg.

Swaliswan, so glad positive stuff is happening and the pg is going so well :)

Hope everyone else ok - prayers continuing. I had a downer today. I went into town to do some shopping for the first time in ages and really couldn't do it. was exhausted after 10 minutes. It bought it home to me how this disease has progressed this year. Just felt crap and upset.

Online shopping rules!

CaptainDippy · 18/09/2010 21:53

Praying it goes well MrsC!! Smile xx

xxxx

Hermya321 · 19/09/2010 21:38

Madhairday I'm due 25th October, I'm going to go in and speak with the lady who organises our leave and see what I can do to finish one or two days early. I have about a day of annual leave and some flexi time.

How did it go today MrsC?

Can you all pray that I get through the next 7 working days, I just need to get through those with the minimum of discomfort and then I'll be on ML. Knowing my luck though, LO will decide after I've had the first weekend off that he wants to show his face (which is fine by me).

MrsCadwallader · 20/09/2010 06:22

MHD Prayers for you - late pregnancy is hard going!

Swaliswan I am so pleased that things are feeling more positive. Prayers that work is a little easier this week.

Thanks for the prayers yesterday - the service went really well :) LOTS of families came and the whole ministry team (plus a few from outside our church) were on hand through the service. There was also tea and a vast array of cakes laid on (by some of the older ladies) afterwards.

We have another two coming up over the autumn (once a month) and it's very much a 'pilot' so there was lots of filling in feedback forms afterwards with ideas and suggestions, but overall the response was really positive :) The only thing that people seemed to feel could have been better was more dynamic, 'child-friendly' music, so I think that will be worked on in time for the next one.

It was great though - really nice to be able to worship as a family instead of splitting up for most of the service and / or trying to monitor behaviour and noisiness throughout!!

MaryBS · 20/09/2010 07:46

MrsC and MHD, would love to share ideas with you about creating a family friendly service for those not used to church

Praying, MrsC, Hermya, MHD and SS, and all who have asked for prayers.

I had an incredibly intensive weekend, which has left me exhausted but also some very affirming praise about my ministry, which has really lifted my spirits :)

TooBlessedToBeStressed · 20/09/2010 08:04

Hi everyone,and prayers for all,,

please pray for me so that i can find a church,i am struggling with church, but i need one where i can be a part of and fellowship is good for us,,

CazEM · 20/09/2010 10:49

Hello Ladies

Hope everyone is doing well... So pleased to hear service went well MrsC

Prayers for you TooBlessed - I've recently started going back to church so know how important it is to find the right one. Praying that God will lead you.

As part of Back to Church Sunday next week my new church are doing a "Songs of Praise" type evening. People were asked to choose hymn and say a little about what the hymn means to them. I felt a strong sense to choose one so I've put my name down and chosen "For the Joys and For the Sorrows (For This I Have Jesus)" - I'm now really scared of standing up and explaining my background and what this hymn means to me - especially as my DH has agreed to come to this service too. (He doesn't know I've chosen a hymn but I hope it speaks to him.) Please pray God gives me courage and strength so I hold it together and not burst into tears while explaining.

PositiveAttitude · 20/09/2010 15:43

Ladies, can I please please ask you to pray for my situation?

I had an MRI on Friday and was supposed to be getting my results on Wednesday, but have had the appointment put off until next Tuesday. I cannot sleep, I am really struggling with pain and horrible symptons. I think that if the lump was bad they will get in touch before next week, but I just wont relax until I know for sure that its not cancer. But even if its not I need to know what is going to be done about the lump and a timescale for me to get back to normal.
I have taken this week off work, but not sure that was a good idea. I am just going crazy ...... I need to know what is going on.
Why does God always seem to hide form me when I need Him most? I really feel a million miles away and as if I am praying to the ceiling.

DutchOma · 20/09/2010 16:32

Will do PA. Praying for peace, for sleep and for a speedy result of the tests.
