I pick up my puppy on thursday. Am everso slightly over excited about it.

Can you tell me what stuff has been excellent and well worth buying, and what has not. I'm off to PAH tomorrow for the final bits and bobs.

So far I have:
crate
1 bit of vet bed stuff from Ikea (I'm going to buy some more tomorrow, how much will I need?)
2 bowls
ginormous sack of puppy food
a huge pile of puppy books
a clicker

so what else?

toys?
a kong? is she too young for one yet, she'll be 8 weeks on Thursday
a collar (iirc there was a thread about collars, what did you get in the end?)
a lead of some sort

One version of the recipe listed Air Freshener on the ingredient list , they had a point.

Glad to hear all our PFP's (precious first pups) are doing well and no one has had to go out and buy new trousers yet.

DT, that is some list . Just thinking what ours has done. The plug off a brand new TV that was faulty and waiting to go back, my Emu boots, DH's boots, the insole of DS's shoe, 5 or 6 little plastic toys, about 4 books including a library book, lots of plastic plant pots, ruined 4 pot plants and heavily pruned a rose ( looks much bushier now), split the contents of a guest's handbag on the floor and ate corner of glasses case, the bottom stair carpet, about 5 plastic pots she's liberated from my coat pocket with treats in, broke into her food cupboard and ran off with some treats, 3 plastic cups, one Barclaycard Bill, opened two parcels, nicked food off the side by sink, chucked my seed potatoes off window sill and I'm sure there are far more food related ones.

Went back to woods today for first time after season, saw a snake and have to practice recall. Recommended my trainer to someone I know, she went Saturday and got sent home for her dog being aggressive, seems she isn't now speaking to me.

Oh Wynken, I know I shouldn't laugh but ....... Phoebe has a thing about pastic plant pots too. I had a stack of them in the garden which she has demolished!! Actually when I ook at your lists, I have so far gotten off very lightly!

The worst thing is poo - she seems to find all the dried up cat poo in the garden and brings it indoors to play with (boak) Possibly on a par with liver cake

Have just taken Phoebe for a walk on the heath in the rain - its the first time she has been out in a downpour and she loved it. Got completely over-excited! My previous lab cross hated the rain, in fact he hated water full stop. I guess this Goldie is going to be different. She is crashed out now on top of a plie of shoes and absolutely filthy!!
