So I just got a puppy but my mum hasn't said yes to it yet.

Me and the dog are currently hiding in my room. How do I tell her I got it!😭😂

You may be legally an adult but you need practise on being a grown up

Just tell her what advice do you think would help other than this?

@Dartmoorcheffy Why does that matter?

I can answer how I want since I can't get a decent response to the question from most people on here.

I asked a simple question, how about people stop making preconceptions?

Just because some others are rude, does not mean you can be rude too, it's not tit for tat

So you have a puppy, your mum likes it, you’ll be staying with your mum until you find a suitable flat, and you’re pregnant.

Things to discuss with your mum:

  • puppy can’t stay in your room all the time. Where is it allowed in the house and are these areas puppy-proofed?
  • will you take the puppy everywhere with you? If it’s not been fully vaccinated yet, it’s inadvisable for her to be around other dogs. Some places don’t admit dogs. How will you manage this? If you leave her in the house, will your mum look after her?
  • puppy will almost certainly damage the house. Have you discussed this?
  • puppy will almost certainly damage the garden. Have you considered this?
  • when you move into a flat, who will care for the puppy when you’re out? A young puppy can’t be left for more than 1-2 hours.
  • if the puppy is disruptive, eg barking, and you're asked to leave, what will you do?
  • who will care for the puppy during your baby’s birth, on your return to your flat, if you're ill during pregnancy or after the birth?

These are just some of the issues to consider. Of course, they’re not insurmountable but they can be tough and unsettling. Do you have a Plan B if things don’t work out in your new flat?

The puppy’s welfare is paramount. Are you prepared to return her to the breeder/rehome her/use animal rescue if necessary?

@Hawkins003 I can match the energy with who I want. I will not have anyone being disrespectful and making assumptions about me when they only have the confidence behind a screen

@Honeysuckle16 thanks for the advice but I have had the dog for almost 4 months and would've thought about that before getting the dog - I just wanted some advice on how to tell my mum about the dog.

Which I can understand, but if your rude back then one it risks your thread being deleted and too it makes you just as bad as the rude ones, now if you could constructive debunk what x person said, that's understandable but if you just trade rude words with each other then it's basically a bun fight and unprofessional

You shouldn't have a puppy. Clearly.
