Just that really. I think my friend thinks I'm a bit mental but we've always done it

Yes, but only because the kids insist on it. I do them a stocking full of cat treats and toys.

WisestIsShe · 16/12/2019 18:45

Of course. He's a very important part of the family.

Ffsnosexallowed · 16/12/2019 18:45

We get presents for all the dogs (& 1 cat) in immediate family. Which reminds me I need to get something for the hamster...

Thebookswereherfriends · 16/12/2019 18:46

Only since I had a child and she insists on it! Dog has a tin of turkey and cranberry flavour biscuits and hamster has some slightly different to normal treats!

Lllot5 · 16/12/2019 18:46

I don’t have any pets now 🙁 but I used to buy for my cat.

sue51 · 16/12/2019 18:46

No. They do get an extra nice dinner and an extra walk on the day

ByeGermsByeWorries · 16/12/2019 18:46

Yes my dog has a full stocking of gifts Blush new toys so the raggedy ones from last year can go in the bin, nice long lasting treats, some quick snack treats, little biscuits for his puzzle ball

Fishcakey · 16/12/2019 18:49

Yep cat, dogs and the rats.

MikeUniformMike · 16/12/2019 18:51

I buy the cat something nearly every time I go shopping. Smile He'll get his favourite food on Christmas day but no present.

whatthehelldowecare · 16/12/2019 18:56

We pick up our new puppy on Sunday and DSD has put 'something special for dog' on her Christmas list - one of only three things she's asked for.. so we are going big for the dogs Christmas, although really just passing off all the things we actually need for him as Christmas presents

Ohffs66 · 16/12/2019 18:58

Probably more than some people spend on humans! She absolutely LOVES getting new toys and it makes me really happy so why not.

cheeseislife8 · 16/12/2019 19:03

I love that so many people do this!

Absolutely!!!!!

Hoppinggreen · 16/12/2019 19:22

Ddog is getting a new collar and Dd has a matching bracelet

JaJoJe · 17/12/2019 17:56

we use to just get those pre-made pet stockings from poundworld until it got bought out, Ive just bought some dreamies from poundland this year. Dont spend much though £1-2 max.

I knew an obscenely rich girl who bought her pets diamonds and designer clothes (like £1000 per pet) for Xmas, it was so OTT that it went from shocking to hilarious and she thought it was completely normal.
She naively tried to donate some of the old diamond collars and things to a shelter (not a pet charity that raises money but the actual shelter, wrapped up as presents for the animals) - its like they need pet food not Burberry coats and collars lol.

bengalcat · 17/12/2019 17:58

Yes cats will have a fish and the dog a lamb shank and personalised cracker with treats .

loriat · 17/12/2019 18:01

The cat is getting a bowl with his name on the side and some special treats to go in it. It makes me happy, so why not?

TheLittleBrownFox · 17/12/2019 18:09

Obviously. Bit rude not to! Xmas Grin

TheLittleBrownFox · 17/12/2019 18:11

@Hoppinggreen I would love that myself Blush got a pic or link??

whatthehelldowecare · 17/12/2019 18:12

@TheLittleBrownFox I've bought DSD one from a website called Friendship Collar - there's loads of different colours/designs

Megan2018 · 17/12/2019 18:12

Cats, horse and hens here! And I wrap them (DH thinks this bit is batshit though).
When my mum had cats my cats used to buy her cats presents too Blush

MrsAgassi · 17/12/2019 18:13

Yes, I hide them in the car because he can sniff them out in the house.

Hoppinggreen · 17/12/2019 18:17

Yes, ours is from friendship collar as well

Cosyjimjamsforautumn · 17/12/2019 18:18

Father Xmas leaves 2 tins of tuna and some cat treats in a special cat stocking in the fireplace Blush

FlamingoAndJohn · 17/12/2019 18:19

I can go one better.

I received a card today from my mother addressed to the cat. We’d already had our card from her, this is a separate one with the cats name on the envelope.
I’ve not opened it yet but if past history is anything to go by it’ll contain £20 from ‘grandma and grandpa’.

They don’t have grandchildren.
