I don't know why to do, we just found our lost cat today and he was outside for 3 days but after i gave him a bath he seemed very limp and wouldn't move at times. He won't eat or drink willingly and won't fight me when trying to pet him. He's probably in shock but I don't know and it's very worrying. We don't have money to take him to the vet but we will if we have too. He's shaking like crazy and wont let me pick him up and he's currently hiding under my bed for bout 4 hours. Please help.

Check his gums - are they pale? He Could be in shock too.
So sorry but he sounds very poorly . Possibly hit by a vehicle or at least been highly startled by something.
Please get him seen , hugs

Aww, I agree with cat carrier and vets.

Hope he is ok

lougle · 06/02/2018 22:12

I'm really sorry, but 2 hours is just too long. You need to telephone your vet now, so they can expect you, then do whatever you need to do you can get your cat there.

RunningOutOfCharge · 06/02/2018 22:15

Who is coming to take you in 2 hours?

jellybean1986 · 06/02/2018 22:29

If 'huffing' is referring to his breathing then you need to see a vet now!! Do not wait any longer. A vet can not refuse to see seriously sick animal, they have a duty of care. Don't wait 2 hours, your cat is suffering

Valerrie · 06/02/2018 22:32

Jesus fucking christ, some people don't deserve animals. The cat should have been at the vet hours ago. Why the hell did you bath it?!

Oh, and my friend lives on a single track country lane. Her house is the only house and is right at the bottom surrounded by fields. She's lost two cats to cars.

Runninglateeveryday · 06/02/2018 22:33

My cat returned from
Being missing in a similar state, he'd been hit by a car and had a broken leg and tail. Get him to the vets now it's cruel waiting around.

retirednow · 06/02/2018 22:33

It's two hours since you asked for our advice, are you on your way to the vet, hope kitty pulls through.

Bloomed · 06/02/2018 22:38

As a pp said huffing could be a very bad sign.

fuzzyllama · 06/02/2018 22:42

Jesus Christ, get a bloody taxi and take him to the vets ! If this was my poor cat who had come home in this state there isn't any way that I'd be waiting about Hmm

cindersrella · 06/02/2018 22:45

Sounds like a poorly cat to me 🙁 I'd be taking him straight to the vet

cindersrella · 06/02/2018 22:46

He may have been hit. It doesn't take a busy road😔

Topseyt · 06/02/2018 22:48

It all sounds like a very distressing situation and I can't believe you prioritised bathing him over either getting him to the vet or calling the vet out. Your cat is in huge distress.

The reluctance to move could be broken bones, internal injuries or spinal damage, none of which will have been helped by bathing him.

I hope you are at the vet now, and that the poor cat is still able to pull through.

MyKingdomForBrie · 06/02/2018 22:48

Oh god your poor cat. Miserable and traumatised he gets home and gets chucked in water, most cats bloody hate water. Now he’s suffering and you’re just sitting with him.. get him to the vets whatever it takes.

MyKingdomForBrie · 06/02/2018 22:49

Try a neighbour, I’d drive you if you were my neighbour, and lend money.

AnnieOH · 06/02/2018 22:50

If you're anywhere near chesterfield/Sheffield/Mansfield and still struggling I'm happy to come and pick you up to get him to the vet. PM me.

Allthecoolkids · 06/02/2018 22:52

Oh what the fuck is wrong with some people???

Your cat is either very sick or injured.
Take it to the vet NOW.

Fuxake.

If you live near me I’ll take it for you. You won’t get it back afterwards though.

retirednow · 06/02/2018 22:52

I am hoping op has gone quiet because they are at the vet or at least on their way.Flowers

georgeoutside · 06/02/2018 23:00

why did you bath him?

Because he was covered in mud and he didn't really walk normally

And at no point in time did you consider he was hurt? You just thought he needed a bath Confused

Seriously WTAF.

I hope you are getting your poor cat seen now. What an awful way to treat an animal.

Dontfuckingsaycheese · 06/02/2018 23:01

Hoping all goes ok x

Haudyerwheesht · 06/02/2018 23:04

tinkerbellone · 06/02/2018 23:08

tigerbasil · 06/02/2018 23:19

This thread makes me sick to my stomach. Never have an animal again. Vile.

tigerbasil · 06/02/2018 23:20
