Aw, Sparkly! At least Nemo will have a good place to come home to to recover.

He has little white sox! Oooo. I hadn't noticed that.

He's lovely!

SparklyGothKat · 19/07/2006 15:37

I nipped in to see him today, he was mieowing lots and cuddled into me when I picked him up. He still isn't putting his leg down.

Am glad Nemo is OK. Out of interest who do you insure with...just thinking (and praying it doesn't) such a thing could so easily happen to our 2!

SparklyGothKat · 19/07/2006 15:45

I use Tesco's pet insurance. I took out the 'extra' insurance which pays out upto £4000 for treatment or 12 months whichever comes first. I think its £7 a months for cats (i have 2 cats and a dog on my insurance and its £27 a month)

So glad he's on the mend Sparkly. He's gorgeous isn't he . We have Tesco pet insurance for our cat too, but thankfully we haven't needed it yet . Hope he continues to improve.

misdee · 19/07/2006 16:48

he is a boooootiful cat.

Marne · 19/07/2006 16:49

I hope he's feeling better, someone shot my mums cat a few years ago. What kind of sick person would do something so cruel.

lanismum · 19/07/2006 17:00

glad hes on the mend

SparklyGothKat · 19/07/2006 18:03

he is gorgeous, but his fur goes up my nose he was cuddled into me today and pawing my shoulder, as if to say 'mummy take me home, don't leave me in this cage' He is doing very well and is very friendly with the vet staff

Thought I would update this one. nemo is home now, but still caged. He will have the pin removed on the 19th.
Anyway at the school, a lady who lives around the corner from where I used to live, came up to me and said that her friend's cat had also be shot. I spoke to the friend today, and she lives about 1 minute away from where Nemo was shot. His bladder had 8 holes where the pellet had ricashaded(sp??) inside him He is alive but needed emergancy treatment as well.

the problem with things like this is, what will happen to the idiots that did it if the police do catch them? not alot i should imagine. its a disgrace. makes me sooo angry.

geekgrrl · 07/09/2006 11:03

there are some sick f*cks about.
have only just read all this SGK, how awful. Glad he survived the attack though.

kimi · 07/09/2006 11:42

Glad nemo is home hope all goes well, some people are so so sick, my sister had one of her cats killed, the vet said it was like some one had slamed it off a wall, it had also been poisoned, she found it on the doorstep so it had tryed to get home, she was heartbroken.

Hope they find who shot you cat.

SparklyGothKat · 07/09/2006 22:15

I asked the other lady if she had reported it to the police, which thankfully she did. If there is a pattern, the police can do more.

Also the insurance company phoned me on monday, they have paid the whole bill direct to the vets.

Nemo is at the vets today having the pin removed. He will still have to cage rested for a few more weeks, he has been in a cage for 2 months now, poor thing.

WishICouldGiveUpWork · 19/09/2006 17:33

Poor Nemo-just horrible to have to keep him in a cage-probably more horrible for you to have to see him in it.
Had to keep one of mine caged only for two weeks and it was awful so I really feel for you.

SparklyGothKat · 19/09/2006 17:36

pin has been removed, his right leg is now shorter than his left, he is also allowed out of the cage for walkabouts but not allowed to do too much excerise. He has to have another check up in a month
