No idea if this will get anywhere, but it's gathering speed, so clearly lots of people feel, as I do, that we have to at least try to halt this shitshow.

@bringincrazyback

signed as no mandate for this bat crazy stuff

bringincrazyback · 28/09/2022 10:33

Currently just upwards of 59,600 and growing very rapidly. Clearly lots of people out there who are also dismayed by what's been going on.

It's a shitshow. I especially don't see how they can have another leadership contest if Truss goes. They're just laughing at us now.

It's been scary to watch how easily the Tories and also the Republicans in the US have been taken over from within by extremists.

Agree. This has been the most blatant show of 'We're going to do what we like and we don't care what you think of it' since Thatcher's days. Worse, perhaps.

Signed. Between Johnson and now Truss this is an absolute shitshow. The Tories should hang their heads in shame, they’ve ground this country into the ground in order to line the pockets of the rich.

The problem is that a general election now might not achieve the laudable aim of ending the current chaos. We need more time for Labour to get its message out there and garner more support.

Perhaps - then again, if a general election were called now I really can't imagine an overwhelming tide of support for the Tories after the total balls they've been making of it for years now. Perhaps I'm being too optimistic, but things are just so dire now and so far I think Keir Starmer is making a really good job of rising to it all.

BTW (just for clarity) I didn't start the petition. Very glad someone did though, as regardless of the result I think it's edifying to see how fast it's gaining traction.

Signed. 64,866 now.

And I'm grateful the petition was worded in a fairly neutral way, so people of different political views and persuasions who simply agree on this one point can all sign it.

Birdy1066 · 28/09/2022 16:53

This government needs a vote of no confidence and kicking out as soon as possible. They’ve declared war on the ordinary person and I hope they reap the consequences.

Bumping for those who may not have seen this. Growing so quickly now, 3,240 signatures in the last hour and total's currently standing at 85,912. I get the feeling public frustration is mounting...

Ilikewinter · 29/09/2022 12:33

Liz Truss is apparantly giving radio interviews today, that should sufficiently outrage everyone into signing the petition....cant imagine theres one positive thing she can say as a vote of confidence.

bringincrazyback · 29/09/2022 13:52

Yes, I can't believe she and Kwasi are standing by the mess they've made of things so far.:.
