It's all very well for yummy mummies with younger children (but old enough to entertain themselves) to virtue signal about closing schools. Yours have time to catch up.

Mine has A levels next year, many have GCSEs and they simply do not have the luxury of time. They need schooling to carry on, and not via video screen.

As a teacher I need to be in front of my classes. We should be campaigning for more money to buy cleaning products and other stuff not closing.

Keep your own child at home if you’re worried. Mine needs to be in school.

My then 13 year old spent weeks home alone before I sent him back to school as a keyworker child in May. He is now in year 10 and needs to be in school! Think about what you are doing to young people and families.
