The WEP women's declaration is signed by members and supporters and those who would like to support us by standing shoulder to shoulder across party lines to protect our sex based rights.

Okay, I've misunderstood or misinterpreted what you were saying. Reading through all the posts quickly I got the impression that you were accepting that AGP is sexuality rather than fetish and therefore that AGP people had to have access. We don't all spend hours of our days thinking through the finer points of sexuality and sex-based rights.

If you can communicate your message in really clear language that might help. FWIW I still think the very mention of the WEP makes a lot of women want to weep and bang their heads with frustration and I still think it would be easier to learn lessons from it and start again under a new name and do it differently.

You are welcome to go do that if you would like to. Sounds like a great idea.

In the meantime, let's support the women who are trying to change WEP into a party we can support. They might not manage it, but let's at least give them our support in trying.

I'd rather continue putting my effort into making the mainstream parties something we can support. If I have to explain the basics of women's rights to WEP then what's the actual point of the party? If you have to spell it out then the effort is far better spent on the mainstream parties.

I agree Towel.
The WEP have turned out to be a monumental distraction.

My political efforts will concentrate on the main political parties, I signed the Labour women's rights declaration which has almost 3,000 signatures.

I'm sure the leader of WEP, whoever he/she is, will see the traction it has gained, and will be influenced by it.

Or, the WEP will simply go the way of the Greens. Simply fade further away into the void (/rabbit hole). Which is actually what I would hope for.

Unlike the main political parties, WEP was founded to focus on women's rights. It has fundamentally failed to achieve what it set out to achieve.

The Civil Rights Movement would have failed if it put white people front and centre. WEP has failed because of its failure to put women front and centre.

I'm utterly heartbroken by that failure to be honest but I don't think there's any point in trying to revive it. WEP has lost the goodwill of thousands of women who supported it and without us, it's a dead duck.
