To ask you to sign this petition about women's prisons

You may remember recently the case of Karen White, who is physically a man but self id'ed as a women. White was sent to prison after carrying out a vicious attack and was subsequently housed in the female estate. Within days White raped 2 women and thank god, is now housed in the male estate.

However, there are simply no guarantees that this situation would not happen occur. If self id became the law over here, women in prison,l who are often vulnerable & as a group are statistically to be more likely to have experienced sexual assault will be most at risk. In Ireland where self id is already law transwomen are housed in the male estate. Over here, where self id isn't even law, we have gone one huge step further than Ireland by allowing fully in tact males into the female estate.

In prison showers and getting dressed is open and shared. Personally I could not imagine personally having to shower naked in front of a male bodied stranger. It's bad enough in front of women. I think it says a lot about a society that carefully considers the privacy, dignity and safety of it's most vulnerable members. As I understand it, there are currently male bodied prisoners in every female estate.

Vulnerable men get raped and beaten in prison all the time rat, doesn’t mean we should make women’s prisons less safe for women. Much better to sort out the violence and rape in the men’s prisons .

When working as an escort Hudson boasted of a “7 inch surprise”. Hudson was imprisoned for a violent assault. Why should someone like that be housed in the women’s estate, putting women at risk?

The "violent assault" was exactly the kind of night-out fight that many young women get involved with.

Clearly I was pointing out that Hudson still has a penis. And therefore has no place in a women’s prison, though even had said penis been removed Hudson is still male and has no place in a women’s prison.

And saying the violence is the same as young women? The young women who commit less than a quarter of the violent crime that men commit and who lack the power and strength someone who went through male puberty will always retain? Pull the other one, it has bells on.

I find it hard to articulate my amusement at your attempt to discredit what I said and be disgusted at it. I wonder if the wild accusations you’re throwing around are actually the way you feel about prostituted women. Certainly nobody on this thread said anything to suggest they felt that way.

Thanks for posting this. I have already signed and shared across social media. You would think this was a no brainer really but people are losing their jobs {see Nina Edge in Liverpool for instance} over stating that a male bodied person should not be incarcerated with vulnerable females. Quite a shame that this post has been moved to petitions as more people need to know about this creeping abandonment of safeguarding principles.

FGS Rat - Sweary was clearly drawing attention to the fact that, despite the woe is me campaign to get Tara put in a women's prison, Tara has a working penis. How do we know that? Because Tara uses it as a selling point.

If anyone is reading this and worried they'll be found out & accused of being transphobic (since nearly every thing is construed as transphobic in this day and age) there is the option ticking the anonymous option.

It would be so great to get the petition to hit 5 figures ASAP. It will take at least that to get the MP's to look at this issue.

Let's face it, the chances of being incarcerated for wrong think are looming ever nearer - so there but for the grace of god go I & hopefully it would be without unexpected penis in the shower area.
