To find myself actually agreeing with something Katie Hopkins said?

Ok. Got your attention! Have no idea of anything she has said recently but it is most unlikely I would agree.

Now, please read on: at the moment if someone has been drink driving and is involved in a serious accident it is incredibly tempting for them to flee the scene and many do. Please read this petition, started by the family member of someone left to die by the roadside in a hit and run
a mumsnetter linked to it and has been trying to get interest in it .... please consider signing and sharing so we can at least get this to the 10000 mark and get a government response.

My first boyfriend died by the roadside after a hit and run, not instantly but before an ambulance could reach him. I hate thinking what pain he must have suffered.

Wish this included people who go to a nearby pub and have some alcohol so then can't be breathalysed!! Angry

To be fair, this is something Katie Hopkins would probably be behind especially if the family was white

I know, but at least 10,000 would get a response, so that’s something to aim for. It feels like something that needs addressing but I expect all those who have really been devastated by this behaviour are too busy dealing with their grief to really campaign hard on this. I know I am. Even writing the Op was hard to do.

pigeon I can understand that you think it's a bit wierd but there have been a few mumsnetters trying to push this petition without getting much response.
By doing this thread the op has bumped signatures up so it's served its purpose.

pigeon as i’ve already explained - there already was a serious thread but, despite several of us regularly bumping it, it was largely being ignored. So I just figured that as celeb type posts tend to get 100s or comments that this was worth a try to get attention of people who do care but maybe just weren’t sure what the previous thread title was about/ scrolled on by for other reasons

Yeah I understand how clickbait works, I've been on the internet before. I think it was an incredibly dubious choice of celebrity 'headline'. And as another poster said it's treating people like idiots.
