Your details remain private, I don't want to start yet another trans thread but I thnk we can all agree that there needs to be more discussion with the people affected by the changes in law!

Over 5000 signatures now - if you haven't yet signed - please take a look at the link

If you don't think it affects you and don't care - you need to find out on behalf of your children.

Bump for the night crowd Smile

JaimesGoldenHand · 15/03/2018 22:24

Bump - this matters

Melamin · 15/03/2018 22:39

Is that the title for the next thread? I like it. Smile

Melamin · 15/03/2018 22:40

Its not just about changing rooms and bloody toilets

Women deserve a say on any change to the law that is going to have far reaching consequences for all women and girls.

DarthArts · 15/03/2018 22:44

New thread copied from the other thread

New thread in AIBU - AIBU to love the Mail and The Sun?

Melamin · 15/03/2018 22:51

Shame - good title - needs using somewhere.

cloudtree · 16/03/2018 08:28

Little concerned the message is getting completely missed in the mail/sun thread.

Perhaps we should target all of the low rep areas. Along the lines of "Do you live in harlow? If so....." ??

beelzibub · 16/03/2018 08:43

Yeah I think that was a bit too "look, the daily mail's onside, why aren't you?"

Remember it's that class thing that's been mentioned too: the "rags" can speak out in a way the Guardian wouldn't, and people here tend to like the latter.

NoSquirrels · 16/03/2018 08:53

It’s OK, I think - people will click & it’ll stay in AIBU longer if it’s a bit controversial. It’ll get moved in the end anyway & we can have a more generic thread to bump up as well.

Debate is good.

Truscum · 16/03/2018 08:55

Ooh what about that link someone posted (can’t find it now)

It was from Twitter, a woman who works with working class women essentially said that they were being taken over by middle class uni students claimed they were the marginalised ones.

NoSquirrels · 16/03/2018 08:57

On Twitter the poster is LucyLoves-life, @Truscum

drspouse · 16/03/2018 09:23

The Deptford community workers? I saw that on FB.

NoSquirrels · 16/03/2018 09:38

Deptford community leaders:

I'll post on the AIBU thread.

IFancyASliceOfCake · 16/03/2018 16:12

Got some mums at school on board yesterday, and DH is going to raise it with his friends at an event tomorrow....

Keep it going!

CircleSquareCircleSquare · 16/03/2018 17:25

Bouncing.

This is important.

drinkswineoutofamug · 16/03/2018 18:57

Bump

IFancyASliceOfCake · 16/03/2018 21:56

Bumping for the late night crowd.

Read and sign if you want to protect yourselves and your daughters Smile

worstwitch18 · 16/03/2018 22:32

If you've signed (or are not eligible to sign but support the cause) keep sharing it. A lot of people are totally uninformed.

imnolaidee · 17/03/2018 07:23

Just an idea. This worked for me once when I had to attract the attention of a celebrity to setup a meeting.

To raise the profile of the petition we could ask someone like Ricky Gervais, who has a lot of followers and seems to have sympathy, to tweet it.

It works simply, as many people as possible with a Twitter account tweet this:

@rickygervais Ricky could you highlight this REALLY important petition for women's rights please: petition.parliament.uk/petitions/214118

It works best if the tweets are all sent at the same time as then the person in question is more likely to notice them (they'll be inundated with tweets and mostly they'll miss things)

If we do this, he may tweet it to his followers and it might get a really good response.

It worked when I used it for my campaign.

beelzibub · 17/03/2018 07:33

I like that but with different messages so it doesn't look like bots.

imnolaidee · 17/03/2018 07:37

Good idea beelzibub

I didn't think of that
