Your details remain private, I don't want to start yet another trans thread but I thnk we can all agree that there needs to be more discussion with the people affected by the changes in law!

101 signatures needed to get to 5,000, which would mean 50% there for a response from Government.

Approx 33 million women in the UK...

Melamin · 15/03/2018 16:56

98 now

I got my dad to sign - he is a lot more up to date on the inside workings of politics than I knew and he does not like the lack of debate from the grass roots.

NoSquirrels · 15/03/2018 17:00

Precisely @Melamin - it's all so back-door, and the silencing of anyone wanting debate on the issue is so sinister. It's the thought police.

I actually genuinely would like my fears allayed on this subject, and debate would allow me to hear more than the white noise of that is proving so divisive.

cloudtree · 15/03/2018 17:07

Right - we got Glasgow East. Lets have a shout out for Harlow! Come on Harlow!!!

aRespectableBureaudeChange · 15/03/2018 17:08

Yes all of us need to speak to the men in our lives too - three generations of men in my family have grasped the concerns and have signed the petition.

drinkswineoutofamug · 15/03/2018 17:15

Atillia I asked if some one had passed go and collected £200 or gone straight to jail.
The person was due to be sentenced. Some posters thought it was black humour. Others reported me. Ffs my daughter got sentenced not long after! Any way back to the thread

YesItsADebate · 15/03/2018 17:19

Fantastic about Glasgow East! Come on Harlow!

MrsOvarall · 15/03/2018 17:21

Me too. Honestly I'd love to stop worrying about this. Shutting down debate does not reassure me. And the more I look into this the more horrified I am.

DarthArts · 15/03/2018 17:33

Bump

drspouse · 15/03/2018 17:35

I have got my DM and her granny activists on the case. We may be hampered by their inability to find the spam folder, or use the forward button.
I'm after something to send my DN (age 15, a bit sensitive and uninformed) to explain.

LineysOfArabia · 15/03/2018 17:40

My student DD signed it.

NoSquirrels · 15/03/2018 18:04

drspouse the SAGES factsheet is a very good introduction: sages.org.uk

drspouse · 15/03/2018 19:09

I think that's a bit wordy to be honest.

AttillaThePun · 15/03/2018 19:51

drinks Yikes. I mean, dark humour and all that but banning you, really?

But then you found this place, which is full of swearing and really dark humour, and all was well. Grin

Er...37 to go to 5000!

LineysOfArabia · 15/03/2018 20:33

The constant targeting of working class people in service jobs for not providing TIMs with the emotional validation that they seek irks me on both a feminist and a socialist level

This struck a chord on another thread

worstwitch18 · 15/03/2018 20:34

15 more to get to 5000 Smile

sexnotgender · 15/03/2018 20:37

So close to 5000

BloodyFreezing · 15/03/2018 21:06

Just hit 5000!

just putting the link up again for those who only look at the last page of a thread.

& shamelessly stealing the eloquent post from @IFancyASliceOfCake

Men on All Women's Short Lists
Men accessing positive discrimination schemes aimed at women
Men in women's prisons
Boys at girls schools
Men on all-female hospital wards
Men competing in women's sports

(Lots of this is already happening).

Its not just about changing rooms and bloody toilets.

Women deserve a say on any change to the law that is going to have far reaching consequences for all women and girls.

LineysOfArabia · 15/03/2018 21:37

I want a man's university pension (actuarially calculated) and I'm not not being fucking funny.

Women get far, far less.
