Tralalee my understanding is that you'll be able to self-ID as the opposite sex and it will be legally sound apart from in the case of eldest child who is female IDing as a male in order to inherit titles etc. It will still go to next male child down.

Primogeniture is not affected. So if a woman changes to a Transman, they will not be allowed to inherit a title/land etc. It is a very specific exception (can't think why )
Transwomen, on the other hand, have free reign at any official position or office reserved for women.

Some are more equal than others.

You see no self respecting male would ever use Self Id to abuse a woman. Because it would be too shameful, but loads of dodgy women would pretend to be men to steal titles and estates from their more deserving younger brothers.

I love how they're happy to make an actual execption to enshrine thousand year old sexism though. Even the royal family have dropped that shit.

Surely a debate is exactly what is needed. If either side of this issue are confident of their position then both sides should welcome the opportunity for full and frank discussion. I am open to being persuaded that self id will be ok. Bring on the debate.

I shared this on my FB, acknowledging that it was an emotive issue but that if we were able to have a debate we could probably find something that worked for everyone. No backlash so far and 2 likes. Starting to feel braver about talking about this now.

Let's all be as brave as we can be and get this noticed everywhere. DH has terfed all over FB . No abuse (so far). Some likes, some questions, some interest. There really is very little to object to with this petition.

Will I need a smear test, abortion, ever need to take a pregnancy test, give birth, go through the menopause, have a period, have to go to the doctors to find out why none of the above are not happening or make a conscious choice to not get pregnant and decide how to do that?

Will I ever be discriminated against at work or an interview because of my ability (or perceived ability) to get pregnant? Will I get paid less because of it? Will I ever be expected by all to take on the brunt of the caring load at home? Have my chances of getting killed by a partner suddenly shot up to match those of women?

No is the answer to all of that. No, no, no.

Don’t get me wrong, being trans comes with its own set of issues. But those are separate and very distinct from all of the above. My mother, sisters and nieces experience issues purely because of their biology.

If we start saying biology doesn’t matter anymore, and politicians keep insisting on spouting the above bullshite, we’ll be entering into a an unfair world where all of the above will be shoved aside and ignored as it doesn’t fit with an ideology.
