Your details remain private, I don't want to start yet another trans thread but I thnk we can all agree that there needs to be more discussion with the people affected by the changes in law!

Bump. Stand up for women, and your kids

Koalablue · 12/03/2018 22:58

It wont let me sigh because my email address is not UK. I am a UK citizen though i dont live there at the moment.

Melamin · 12/03/2018 23:11

That is annoying. You don't have a relative with an e-mail you can use?

BeyondDeadlySiren · 12/03/2018 23:11

Six people beat me to signing in my town. That was a pleasant surprise :)

SuitedandBooted · 12/03/2018 23:13

This is why we need to be consulted, not told!

Haven't RTFT but want to respond to

If you think the danger is that men will pretend to be trans women, fake a history of domestic violence, attain a place in a DV shelter and then rape other women there

Yes, that is a risk with self ID.

A convicted sexual predator who falsely claimed to be transgender and preyed on women at two Toronto shelters could be declared a dangerous offender this month.

Christopher Hambrook — who claimed to be a transgender woman named Jessica — has attacked four vulnerable females between the ages of five and 53 in Montreal and Toronto over the past 12 years.

Hambrook, 37, pleaded guilty in February 2013 to two counts of sexual assault and one count of criminal harassment involving two women — a deaf and homeless Quebec woman and a Toronto survivor of domestic violence — while he was living at a Dundas St. W. shelter and the Fred Victor women’s shelter in January and February 2012.

Signed.

Butterandsugar · 12/03/2018 23:19

Being Scottish I'm more than happy not to sign because we were given the opportunity to consult on this, via the online consultation paper that closed this month.

I've made my views known.

LineysOfArabia · 12/03/2018 23:26

Anti Self-ID is NOT anti-TRANS

Good slogan

Voice0fReason · 12/03/2018 23:27

Signed

Truscum you are amazing

QuietSandandSun · 12/03/2018 23:34

Signed

NinjagoNinja · 12/03/2018 23:34

I genuinely don't understand why anyone wouldn't want to allow a debate about this.

Fruufruu · 12/03/2018 23:43

I'm alone in my constituency it seems! I'm concerned about the impact this could have on my children mainly (e.g. mixed sex camping in Guides seems like it'll result in a lot of teen pregnancies!) Not questioning the practical implications of this for women and children is madness.

Jaggythistle · 12/03/2018 23:44

@ButterandSugar that consultation was ridiculously biased in terms of the questions asked.

Also your username makes me think TABLET.

I filled the consultation in too, but am more than happy to call for the UK government to at least look at this!

DarthArts · 13/03/2018 00:13

I'm getting ridiculously over invested in wondering about the grey areas on the petition map.

Do no MNer's live in Devon?

Do any women at all in NW Hampshire?

Do people in Staffordshire Moorlands have internet access?

Who knows? Hoping to see the colours keep getting darker Grin

LineysOfArabia · 13/03/2018 00:17

NW Hants is The Stonehenge Triangle? Or is it the Aldershot Conundrum ...

sexnotgender · 13/03/2018 00:29

Love it, we’ve got all the Highlands and Islands too.

BlackeyedSusan · 13/03/2018 00:37

why do people object to discussing the issue? Unless they have a vested interest in not discussing it?

I would hate to have ended up in a refuge only for ex or his cousin, brother, uncle etc to turn up later pretending to be a women, just so they could get at me. Some exes are vindictive.

ILoveAntButHateDec · 13/03/2018 01:06

Signed. I have 3 teenage daughters who would like to try on clothes in a female changing room that doesn't include those with Lady Dicks! I would also prefer female changing rooms and sports venues to be able to to distinguish sports competitors who were born male or female.

I have 2 sons. Their gender renders them to have greater upper body strength than that of females. I wouldn't want them to compete in female sports categories. Who would support males competing against females? Human biology tells us males vs females is not an even playing field.

I hope Corbyn et Al have lost a lot more votes because of Labour's stupidity in trying to win more votes by their determined efforts to support all the minority groups. (Which we all know won't ever work but will win votes from the the most gullible, lefty voters).

It is just not feasible....The majority of sensible voters will see this as an effort to win votes which won't go anywhere.

If males can't efficiently support their own groups why try to convince - the underdog. women to support them? Oh! Let me think.... Maybe because males have always been seen as superior and women have always had to bow down to them? Hopefully this is where male dominance ends. I'm all for that

If you have a dick you are male. That's it! Like it or lump it!!

LineysOfArabia · 13/03/2018 01:13

Quite happy support expanding the bandwidth of men. Which is feminism old school and very protective of males who are 'non-conforming'.

ElenOfTheWays · 13/03/2018 01:33

Signed this afternoon. I was the first in my consistency
There are now 5 more. Grin

All I want is a proper debate. It's not that much to ask.

ElenOfTheWays · 13/03/2018 01:34

*constituency bloody autocorrect

Ofcat · 13/03/2018 06:27

(bump)

worstwitch18 · 13/03/2018 06:31

It wont let me sigh because my email address is not UK. I am a UK citizen though i dont live there at the moment.

Me too - it let me sign no problem (I'm not even living in the EU right now) - there's a few of us if you look at the data of who's signed, perhaps there's another problem with your email address - I just used my normal gmail one, perhaps sign up for a gmail account and use that?
