I cannot believe anyone would have issues with women asking to be consulted on changes that are going to impact them! But it seems they do...

So many organisations are acting like it’s a done deal - teenage boy wants access to teenage girls in theshowers? No problem, identify yourself as a girl and go join the girl guides - job done!

Political parties breaking the law by allowing men who announce they are women and join all women shortlists! Easy!

But be a woman and ask to be consulted? Apparently that’s a hate crime.

Men on All Women's Short Lists
Men accessing positive discrimination schemes aimed at women
Men in women's prisons
Boys at girls schools
Men on all-female hospital wards
Men competing in women's sports

(Lots of this is already happening).

Its not just about changing rooms and bloody toilets.

Women deserve a say on any change to the law that is going to have far reaching consequences for all women and girls.

Someone posted this on the other thread. This is me too - I cannot share on social media IRL because of work. Because asking for women to be consulted = hateful opposition to trans people or at the very least enough of a suspicion that I’m intolerant and prejudiced that I could end up seriously disadvantaged.

I don't understand why some on here are against women being consulted. No-one is demanding that every women has to have the same opinion, just a right to have an opinion that is listened to.

I signed before I read this thread but roly's respectful questioning and debating and those replying has given proof for the need for research and debate over the ins and outs as I for one get worried and concerned for both trans people and women when self id gets mentioned. There are aspects of self id that negatively affect trans people as well.

And so I sign.
