Here is the link:

It may not do any good but, hey, it can't hurt.

There will need to be an additional poll. To ask about the new trade agreements. Given that nothing will change about movement of workers and well have less money.

rumblingDMexploitingbstds · 25/06/2016 18:23

Though Nasty Nigel did say early doors that if the result was close and for Remain he wouldn't accept it.

In reality, what would he have been able to do? He's not even an MP. There is no way in hell he ever would have had a snowball's chance in hell of getting the government to run another referendum.

wetlaurel · 25/06/2016 18:23

Just hit 2 million signatures.

howtorebuild · 25/06/2016 19:39

Brexiter voters can make a claim to the EU if the referendum isn't accepted and your petition wins.

The EU does have the power to suspend any member state, under Article 7, if the state breaches any of the EU's principles. A principal is democracy. The referendum was democracy.

LineyReborn · 25/06/2016 19:45

No, we are a parliamentary democracy.

The poll was advisory.

HanYOLO · 25/06/2016 21:15

Rumbling, my point was only that "leave" would have continued to campaign had the votes been reversed.

JoffreyBaratheon · 26/06/2016 15:09

An advisory poll, won by a margin of only 2%, when more than 2% of those who 'won' are probably already feeling they were lied to - is not worth the paper it's written on, surely.

Now to lobby MPs and Lords to block it in the Houses of Parliament. Relentlessly bang on til they give in. ;o)

OrangesandLemonsNow · 26/06/2016 15:11

An advisory poll, won by a margin of only 2%

Errrrr last time I checked the difference between 52% and 48% was 4 but hey what does that matter.

JoffreyBaratheon · 26/06/2016 15:28

Still too close. And anyway in the words of Leave's poster boy, Farage:

“In a 52-48 referendum this would be unfinished business by a long way..."

www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/nigel-farage-wants-second-referendum-7985017

52/48? Shot yourself in the foot, there!

JoffreyBaratheon · 26/06/2016 15:29

Oh I forgot the condescending "Errrr".

neverknowinglywrong · 26/06/2016 15:29

Are you aware it's not actually a petition for a second referendum though?

caroldecker · 26/06/2016 16:03

I've signed it 18 times and counting - random postcode and new email address.

glassgarden · 26/06/2016 16:08

2 million signatures could well be one hundred thousand people signing it twenty times each....I hope I got my maths right there but if not my point still stands:o

OlennasWimple · 26/06/2016 16:11

"Vote early, vote often"? That's not how petitions are supposed to work - you do realize signing it 18 times completely undermines its legitimacy, right?

OrangesandLemonsNow · 26/06/2016 16:15

52/48? Shot yourself in the foot, there!

How exactly?

Your figure was wrong it's 4%

Last time I checked Farage isn't an MP and certainly not in gvt.

He wasn't part if the official campaign.

Littlemisslovesspiders · 26/06/2016 16:16

I think some need reminding how democracy works.

JoffreyBaratheon · 26/06/2016 16:16

He told you what to think, though. You think Boris was in the driving seat?

OrangesandLemonsNow · 26/06/2016 16:18

He told you what to think

He told me nothing thank you. Can't stand the man

I actually did my own research.

ThoraGruntwhistle · 26/06/2016 16:35

That's marvellous, being fraudulent on a petition that might actually have got a point across. Sheer brilliance to render it meaningless by signing loads of times. I know it would probably have had no real effect, but as a show of feeling it would've been something. Oh well.

AtAt · 26/06/2016 16:41

I've read in the news that the petition is being investigated for fraudulent signatures, so those that have signed multiple times may have theirs removed.

squeezed · 26/06/2016 16:44

Apparently the petition was started a month ago by an English Democrat who was voting to leave. Now it is being signed by people who voted to remain or have changed their mind. Sorry don't know how to link, but it's on the Huffington Post website.
Oh and false signatures are being removed.
Perhaps the outcome of this referendum is that people start engaging in politics in a more informed manner, rather than just moaning from afar.

caroldecker · 26/06/2016 17:14

How do they spot false signatures?
