It may not do any good but, hey, it can't hurt.

Ridiculous and child-like. Accept the democratic decision of the people and move on.

HatHardOn · 25/06/2016 10:55

We can be as PC about things as you like but the half of the population that voted remain are the ones who put money into this country. The number of retired/long term unemployed in the leave camp isn't opinion it's fact. If it had been such a close win for remain, I would expect leavers to call for another referendum and I would go ahead and vote in a second.

GloGirl · 25/06/2016 10:56

No, not lots of people are regretting their decision. One or two people are and it's news. And another few people trolling I dare say.

Floralnomad · 25/06/2016 10:57

I won't be signing , I voted Remain , we lost ,its tough ,but we have to just live with it and make the best of it you can't just keep having referendum that's ridiculous .

Arkwright · 25/06/2016 10:59

I have seen a couple of people regretting their decision on here. I don't see "lots" at all.

Lizzylou · 25/06/2016 10:59

The fact that people are now frantically googling "what is the EU?" and places like Cornwall are suddenly waking up and fearing the ramifications of Brexit leads me to believe that not everyone voted in an informed fashion yesterday!

MadisonMontgomery · 25/06/2016 11:01

Okay, so saying that IF the government decided to hold another vote, and IF remain won this time - what's to stop the leave voters saying that's not fair, we didn't get the result we wanted this time - so we need to have another vote. How would that work, would we do best of three or just keep going on voting endlessly?!

Primaryteach87 · 25/06/2016 11:01

In most organisations, voting to CHANGE something major requires a clear majority. I have signed and I don't think it's in democratic to do so. Nr do I think if remain had won by a small margin it would trigger the same requirement because we are not trying to overthrow the status quo in order. Fundamentally I don't think doing an epically stupid thing (whatever motivations) can be justified on the basis of a small minority of mostly OAPs who don't have to live with the consequences.

GhostofFrankGrimes · 25/06/2016 11:02

waste of time. Brexiters will have to live with their decision and that there ain't gonna be no land of milk and honey.

LineyReborn · 25/06/2016 11:02

So in this democracy of ours, people are angry about someone starting a petition?

Ok.

OrangesandLemonsNow · 25/06/2016 11:02

So anytime the country voted in a majority for something it should be overturned because those that didn't vote for it don't like it.

Same happened in the GE.

Ridiculous.

So much for democracy eh. Only ok if it goes the way I want.

PeggyMitchell123 · 25/06/2016 11:02

Democracy is not best of 3. We had a vote and leave won. I truly get remain voters are disappointed but you can't keep demanding more votes until you get the result you want. So what will happen, remain voters will do all they can and surround leave voters to intimidate leave voters to vote? How will it work, how do you think the result will be any different without splitting the country even more.

glassgarden · 25/06/2016 11:02

Me and my family have signed this as well as the petition to separate London from ex Great Britain and make it a separate city state

People with their noses in the trough are upset at the prospect of losing access to the trough

Quell surprise

doraexploradora · 25/06/2016 11:04

not agreeing at all with a re-vote

democratic rule must be followed

uk should trigger art 50 today and not start dragging it's feet now.

u'turns are already starting to happen

  1. nhs
  2. free movement of people
  3. 'still very much in europe'
Cornishclio · 25/06/2016 11:09

I voted remain and with some reservations have signed the petition. Yes it is undemocratic but quite frankly some of the leave voters reasons for leaving are just quite ridiculous. Something this important should not rest with an electorate who are sometimes uneducated, misinformed or just wanting to give the current establishment a kicking or "they fancied a change"

Cornishclio · 25/06/2016 11:11

Primaryteach87

Exactly. Thoroughly agree

MeMySonAndl · 25/06/2016 11:12

But wasn't Farage himself the first to suggest a 2nd referendum if Remain had a narrow win?

I think that we should have another one as people can now see that the drop in the pound, stock markets, etc was not scaremonging but fact.

Not that I believed a second referendum will happen but signed it anyway.

funtey · 25/06/2016 11:12

Number of UK citizens: 65,111,143
Number of Leave voters: 17,410,742

So just 27% of the country have made a decision which affects us all.

Lets go again and no doubt everyone will be encouraged to vote this time.
Statistically, 950 leave voters have already died anyway.

CoolforKittyCats · 25/06/2016 11:13

So in this democracy of ours, people are angry about someone starting a petition?

In this democracy of ours people want to overturn a democratic decision.

franke · 25/06/2016 11:13

I'm a remainer but won't be signing. That petition was set up last month. Signing it now would be a classic case of shutting the stable door after the horse etc. The referendum served its purpose and if people regret the way they voted, tough. There was plenty of information out there during the campaign for people to make an informed decision and decide whether they were being lied to or not, on both sides. I don't like the result one little bit, but I have to accept it.

TeaBelle · 25/06/2016 11:13

If there is a second referendum then I think it will lead to anarchy and riots. You can't tell over half of the voting electorate that their view doesn't matter because they made the wrong choice

OrangesandLemonsNow · 25/06/2016 11:15

funtey

Not all UK citizens are eligible to vote. Don't fancy giving a 2 year old a vote.

If you still don't get the vote you want you want to keep going until you do?

trafalgargal · 25/06/2016 11:15

Ah the petition of the truly stupid.

If you don't want to live in a democracy where every citizen has an equal say then go right on ahead and sign but when your children end up existing in a society with a far right government who ignore elections and referendums and a vote means nothing then I hope you can look yourself in the mirror.

That's essentially what you are signing for by trying to railroad our democracy. Some people are so short sighted it's unbelievable.

KatieKaboom · 25/06/2016 11:17

I dislike this idea.

Jessbow · 25/06/2016 11:18

Wont be signing, We live in a democracy. We chose, we have a result.
By definition, the % that voted stay wont be happy ....but that's life. That why we voted.

Time to get down and get on with it.
