Weechancer · 18/09/2015 14:02

The Scottish Parliament Health & Sport committee is holding a public consultation on e-cigs so i have started a change.org.uk petition to open up this debate.

MNHQ has edited this post as petition links and such must be posted in our Petitions board, however for those who are interested it is easy to find from the information above

Go for it 101! Smile

It's so nice to see something positive coming out of this thread.

OurBlanche · 24/09/2015 18:18

Smile Good luck, mainly in finding a flavour you like as that, according to DH, is the hardest part of changing to vaping [Waits for OP to explode]

Room101isWhereIUsedToLive · 24/09/2015 19:25

I think I might start with vanilla?! And then maybe something coconutty...

NiNoKuni · 24/09/2015 19:28

There's a sale on at Vape Escape atm, so you could buy a few different juices and see if/what you like Smile

OurBlanche · 24/09/2015 19:38

Oh no! You will be constantly puffing puddings.

Have a try of a few, most places let you try a few.

DH seems to have stuck with appley and aniseedy, sometimes he mixes them. He preferred custard to vanilla!!

You have a whole new world to explore Smile

ditavonteesed · 24/09/2015 19:41

you can't go far wrong with a cherry menthol

Room101isWhereIUsedToLive · 24/09/2015 19:44

Oh ok, this all sounds wonderfully exciting, roll on tomorrow!!

NiNoKuni · 24/09/2015 19:49

I've vaped one single flavour for going on 2 years now Grin

It might shock the OP, but I make it myself and it's berry flavour-based. I source ingredients from reputable suppliers.

Our local bricks-and-mortar shops are very much set up to let you have a sample of everything, so you could hotfoot it down to one of those if you've got one and go nuts.

PlentyOfPubeGardens · 24/09/2015 20:00

Yes, I've been on one flavour for about 2 years too. DH has a drawerful of fruit and sweetie flavours though.

We don't make our own but are intending to in preparation for the TPD. Can you recommend somewhere good to buy nicotine? I'm going to need to stockpile a bit while I still can.

NiNoKuni · 24/09/2015 20:34

I can wholeheartedly recommend MyVapery.com, as my mate is involved in running it Grin

Nic base here

I too am going to be getting a few litres in to last us. ejuicemeup is a great calculator too, if you haven't got one already. PM me if you want a link to a user-based concentrate review site!

PlentyOfPubeGardens · 24/09/2015 20:48

Thanks! We're fans of MyVapery, DH absolutely loves their Jam Toast Smile

Twunk · 24/09/2015 21:27

DH likes his no-shit menthol flavour.

I love my DH more than life itself and I am fucking delighted that vaping "happened". As I previously pointed out, I am one of the lucky few who could give up smoking with almost no difficulty, my DH is one who couldn't. I am pleased beyond measure that there is a safe(r) alternative.

He is a rational man and I am a rational woman. We both can see the risks/benefits and it's a no-brainer IMO.

Weechancer · 25/09/2015 07:35

wrong, i signed it twice at the suggestion of change.org to test if it was working properly.

PolpoPolpo · 25/09/2015 07:57

Hang on, forget the e-cig debate, I've just seen the OPs comment "When caffeine is consumed in high quantities or mixed with alcohol it makes people aggressive and often violent. " ....does this mean I have to give up espresso martinis? Although I must say glassing someone with a martini glass is much more elegant than using a pint glass.

PlentyOfPubeGardens · 25/09/2015 08:01

Can't be too careful, Polpo. Remember the Irish Coffee riots? (no, me neither)

PolpoPolpo · 25/09/2015 08:22

You're right, we can't be too careful. Let's switch to de-caff in our alcohol.

Or is de-caff the e-cig of the coffee world?

I'm so confused - let's start a petition to ban it just in case.

DollyTwat · 25/09/2015 09:15

I'm going to have a look at myvapery to see if I can find a new flavour. I've been vaping marsbar for ages now

Op I can't understand the point you're trying to make - I don't think you do either.

Weechancer · 25/09/2015 09:48

I FIND IT FACINATING, THAT WHEN I STARTED THIS DISCUSSION ON HOW SAFE E-CIGS ARE ON MUMSNET, I EXPECTED TO OPEN UP SOME SERIOUS, PASSIONATE AND INFORMED DEBATE, ON A TOPIC THAT IS VITAL TO THE HEALTH OF OUR CHILDREN AND GRANDCHILDREN.

HOWEVER, AFTER LESS THAN A WEEK THE DISCUSSION HAS BEEN REDUCED TO ONE OF ADULTS SHARING GOSSIP ABOUT WHERE TO GET THE BEST BUY IN THEIR DRUGS OF CHOICE - NICOTINE.

It is no wonder to me that the mafia, the tobacco, alcohol and pharmaceutical industry rack up billions in profit from the ill-health of our society.

THE GOOD PEOPLE OF THE WORLD ONLY NEED TO DO NOTHING, FOR THE BAD GUY’S OF THE WORLD TO SUCCEED, IN ABUSING, EXPLOITING AND PROFITING FROM THE POOREST, MOST DEPRIVED AND LEAST EDUCATED OF OUR CITIZENS.

Let’s get back to some serious thinking on whether it is a good or a bad thing for e-cigs to be available to all of us, children included, with no legal controls on them and no serious and independent research to prove i they are safe or not.

OP posts:
NiNoKuni · 25/09/2015 10:26

Nah, you're not listening to anything anyone has to say. Until you do, I'll be 'gossiping' about where to buy the very best vaping supplies, thanks.

PlentyOfPubeGardens · 25/09/2015 10:36

Myvapery french toast is delicious too Smile

A good place to start for new vapers is One Pound Eliquid. You'll probably try a lot of flavours before you settle on a few you really like. These ones are really quite good and very cheap so you can afford to experiment.

OurBlanche · 25/09/2015 10:38

And shouting isn't going to make your 'message' any more convincing!

We have tried to do the serious thinking, posted some serious information, which you have consistently ignored and are still posting as though it does not exist. Just because we don't agree with you does not make all of that null and void.

You can repeat your cant all you like, you will remain incorrect! And as long as you refuse to read any of the information provided for you, you will also remain uninformed and ignorant of what is really going on in the real world.

You, sir, are a dangerous creature. Cease, desist! Give it a rest!

Bolograph · 25/09/2015 10:39

Let's get back to some serious thinking

That would tend to imply there was some serious thinking to start with.

Twunk · 25/09/2015 12:06

YOU WERE EXPECTING A BUNCH OF MUMS TO AGREE WITH YOU.

That's not a debate.

PlentyOfPubeGardens · 25/09/2015 12:31

Spot on, Twunk Grin

NiNoKuni · 25/09/2015 16:26

How did you get on Room101?
