God - when I think that I used to judge people for grammatical errors and spelling mistakes (before I had a child diagnosed with dyslexia) - it makes me want to crawl under a stone / wear a hair shirt / repent my previous crass stupidity

I'm sure no-one here would aim to offend anyone with dyslexia any more than they'd want to offend a person who can't hear/see etc etc.

The pull here is on people who make mistakes for no other reason than they have the ability to spell, write etc but don't bother/can't be bothered.

I can understand why you've posted this but please don't be offended as none would have been meant.

On a serious note - I do think you need your consiousness raised. A lot of the errors you highlight will have been written by dyslexic people who do, after all, constitute 10% of the population. It is a pity that you feel perfectly justified in mocking people with a specific learning difficulty [Shrugs]

Thanks Monty, your courtesy is more than my wee tirade merits . I am afraid I am on a bit of a crusade atm! However your point:

....is that you don't actually know that they have the ability to spell etc but can't be bothered. I would hazard a guess that they are compromised in their spelling etc. Nobody wilfully mispells if they have an option; considering the general ire and prejudicial responses it provokes
