Hare's breath

This is a new one on me! Seen on a post as a relative being 'a hare's breath from death'.

Oh, no, it's only rabbits in there. The hare, I think you'll find, is a much larger mammal.

That's such a beautiful mistake that I think it should be officially instated as the correct version.

Whenever I have a near miss in future, I will think of that mystic creature blowing gently on me to save me from a sad fate.

Sweet Holy Jeez. Yet I can see that it might make a strange sort of sense in someone’s head🤣

Hare's breath is the equivalent in distance of a gnat's crotchet in time.

I may need some rest bite after reading that.

😂 I didn't get this at first, I was thinking it was some muddling up of paint colours with elephants breath which is a Farrow and ball colour.

Brilliant. Does this occur if a hare isn’t available to perform CPR?

Could do with some lightly hoods here, it’s difficult to get the heavier hoods dry during the wet weather.

I love this. It makes me think of Lee Scoresby and Hester dying in His Dark Materials and of Watership Down as pp mentioned.

My recent favourite is that some things are so expensive they cost an arm in a leg. It's no wonder someone said they'd had anuff.

I'm a massive Watership Down fan and a former rabbit owner, so I kind of like it too- it conjures up all sorts of lovely images. When my time comes, I want a cortege of leporidae escorting me off this mortal coil.

And then they died.
