Just saw a new classic…

An Instagrammer I follow was talking about things related to her pregnancy and declared her partner as… ‘the phantom of all knowledge’ - should I say something or not?

I like it (can you tell?)

Brilliant! Are you the Instagrammer by any chance?

If someone corrects a mistake they may face reaper cushions! (I saw that one yesterday and it made my day!).

Took me a while as well, but that is the classic to beat all classics.

She was definitely complementing him, so not a sly dig at him being useless (which would have been a clever play on words).

*complimenting

Sorry, couldn’t resist!

Please do correct her before she humiliates herself again!

Laughing at the idea - no, I don't even have an Instagram account, and I'm not the sort of person anyone would ever follow on social media (deadly boring life). I just thought it was a good username.

You got me there! 😜

But surely the phrase 'an instant classic' is quite acceptable? (Although probably somewhat hackneyed. Puts me in mind of Pick of the Pops...)

Oh goodness me, I do not deserve a place on this board! Missed that one in my haste to type a reply but always appreciate the correction. :)

Tips hat to excellent user name at least it's not ReaperCushions

Thanks. As soon as I saw it on that thread I stole it. Hope the original user if the phrase isn't upset!

I saw that thread! Wonder what happened after the chat with HR? Did anyone follow for updates?

Do you mean complimenting OP?

FromageTime · 24/12/2025 17:52

Please tell her. They all need to be told.

Yes, I do. @LemaxObsessivekindly alerted me to my disturbing typo already and I am duly chastised.

I am itching to but I don’t think it would make much difference.

She’s probably done it on purpose. It’s a common tactic to get comments. Makes the algorithm think they’re popular/interesting as they have lots of engagement when actually it’s 90% people correcting the error.

This is why we need a laugh emoji 😂

Isn't that the same as Arkwright did in Open All Hours? He deliberately painted 'Speciol offers inside' on his window, knowing that nobody passing by would be able to resist coming in to point out his error - and then, once they were in the shop, he would pounce and not let them leave without buying lots of (full-price) items Grin

I remember that episode very well ( and many others) a most excellent show indeed

Why not send a DM then or would that have the same effect?

I am sitting on my hands today as apparently the US now has 'boarders' with Canada - several times on one thread all by different posters. I KNOW it needs correcting but...
