OliviaMumsnetIsNotReallyHere · 25/03/2008 14:17

LOL at you posting this in Pedants' Corner!

Oliveoil · 25/03/2008 14:18

my family feels large at 6.45pm when I want them both to feck off to bed

PaulaYatesBiggestFan · 25/03/2008 14:18

How about if you have three children and:

a) No husband?
b) A very demanding/unhelpful husband?
c) A really enormous dog?
d) A live-in au pair?
e) A mother in law who likes to come to stay for long periods as often as possible?

JodieG1 · 25/03/2008 14:25

I have 3 and to us it's large as most other people here only have 1 or 2. I'd love more but dh doesn't and after having 5 miscarriages and awful pregnancies it's probably best this way

PaulaY _ I have 4 children and I disagree. I think it depends on the children.

PaulaYatesBiggestFan · 25/03/2008 14:26

i personally found 3-4 a huge leap
suddenly the number of children just looked so so many

peoples faces look on in horror when you enter a retaurant

the dental waiting room is full and its just your children

bedtime is no longer just bearable....

aGalChangedHerName · 25/03/2008 14:27

Lol there's always someone who's going to have a moan eh?

Porpoise · 25/03/2008 14:29

maybe we should have a 'slightly larger family than most but not as bigger that lot' section, too?

pedilia · 25/03/2008 14:30

hatrick- suprisingly upbeat, i occasionaly think OMG what am I doing but then I don't find 3 particuarly difficult. How old are your dc's?

I think it does depend on circumstances and the children. I have a very hands on DH, no other help from parents etc
I also have 3 horses,1 dog and 3 cats but IMO it is about being very organisd, time management and being able to prioritise.

Porpoise · 25/03/2008 14:30

sorry.. not as big as that lot...

RosaIsRed · 25/03/2008 14:30

Don't you mean 'What is the difference between a family of three and a family of four?' Your thread title was most unclear, and that is is the type of thing up with which the residents of pedants' corner will not put.

PaulaYatesBiggestFan · 25/03/2008 14:31

hatrick you have email

pedilla wow you have got a lot of legs!

IorekByrnison · 25/03/2008 14:31

lol Rosa. Someone had to say it.

Swedes · 25/03/2008 14:34

I think your family is large if you think it is. Just the same as your child being G&T if you say he is. Or should the G&T threads allow only those whose child has an IQ of 150 or higher?

RosaIsRed · 25/03/2008 14:35

Can of worms, Swedes, can of worms...
