Party bags - not what goes in them, but the bags themselves!

I don't want to buy those horrid plastic bags with spiderman/Ben10/Barbie nonsense on them.

Just want white (brown?) paper bags which roll/fold over at the top (used to put my packed lunch in them when I was a kid) sort of bags

Do they exist? Or is this the moon on a stick???

Have all the 'inards' for the bags, but not the bags yet...

Help please!

Ebay

Chunkamatic · 17/05/2013 21:16

I got brown paper bags with handles from the £1 shop, labelled as lunch bags.

INeedtoDrinkLess · 17/05/2013 21:17

oh gawd, am an ebay virgin, don't understand it, too old.

Want to go to a shop...please?

Are these any good?

givemeaclue · 17/05/2013 21:17

Hobbycraft do nice white ones with nice sturdy handles

INeedtoDrinkLess · 17/05/2013 21:17

Thanks Chunkamatic, sounds useful. Will look - we have a poundland nearby

Also party pieces do them

nancy75 · 17/05/2013 21:18

I got brown paper bags from one of the supermarkets, I think they are meant for food recycling (it would have been sainsburys or waitrose)

INeedtoDrinkLess · 17/05/2013 21:19

ilovemydog, those look great, but p&p makes it all a bit expensive. Plus I am allergic to that website since they failed me MISERABLY 2 christmases ago...
Really like them though, thanks

Here. But search "white paper bags" and there's loads of variations.

INeedtoDrinkLess · 17/05/2013 21:20

nancy75, I looked in Sainsburys today - nothing. Will try Waitrose, nice to have an excuse!

I tell you what are nice too - those coloured sandwich bags you get in a box of about 30. Most supermarkets. You get stickers in the box too. Look good tied up with some curly ribbon shite. And cheap as chips.

dowhat · 17/05/2013 21:21

I've used these www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B005GJUJ7O/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?qid=1368821914&sr=8-1&pi=SL75 which my daughter then painted flowers on. DS painted trains when it got to his bday (with help from DH). Nicer and more personal than the plastic ones.

BikeRunSki · 17/05/2013 21:21

Amazon

INeedtoDrinkLess · 17/05/2013 21:21

BikeRunSki, love these -but it's ebay again! Sends my head in a spin! I need to grow up, don't I?

OP posts:
INeedtoDrinkLess · 17/05/2013 21:23

dowhat, they look good, thanks
DS isn't going to decorate them, not an artistic bone in our family!
stickers maybe...

INeedtoDrinkLess · 17/05/2013 21:24

Legarmpits, like that idea too - thanks
Which supermarket have you seen them in? Perhaps my (big) Sainsburys is shite, not seen them there

BikeRunSki · 17/05/2013 21:25

tammytwigg · 17/05/2013 21:26

INeedtoDrinkLess · 17/05/2013 21:26

Ilovemydogandmydoglovesme · 17/05/2013 21:27

INeedtoDrinkLess · 17/05/2013 21:29

Oh my god there's hundreds on amazon! And they're a lot cheaper. I need some too so will use them instead I think.

thingamajig · 17/05/2013 21:29

We decorated party bags as an activity at the party, which went down well (5 year olds). Just plain white bags from amazon and stickers and felt tips.

INeedtoDrinkLess · 17/05/2013 21:30

Right, Amazon all the way - thanks everyone!

I love MN!
