Superhero bunting, I hope ?

Of course! I'm sure I can get comic strip fabric somewhere.......

A quick hunt suggests that there is plenty available, but it is not cheap. If making superhero bunting I would be tempted to get a small amount of one of the fabrics with "zap", "pow", etc all over and lots of cheap plain fabric in strong colours (red/bright blue /yellow /black) as well.

I am officially two handed again, but have to be "careful" of right hand for at least 3 weeks. Currently it hurts quite a lot.

Whats making it hurt? Is it not healed or is it weakness from not being used?

I think it's just being feeble, personally . Doctor prodded it, declared it to be back in one piece but fragile, and said no heavy lifting for 3 weeks.

Sewing and baking don't count, right ?

It's not feeble! It was broken, it's going to take some time to heal properly.

Sewing and baking are fine as long as you're using machines I think. No whipping cream with your bad wrist etc

How about moving all the furniture so that I can pin a quilt together ?

My DM came up with a genius idea for DD's party invitations - slabs of air-dry clay with details impressed into it.

Ah, ok. Perhaps I could make paper bunting and use photocopied comic pages.......

Here's another one for you. From the blog that provides the super reversible cape, is this about a no sew cape.

"I needed to find a fabric that I didn't need to sew. I eventually found it at Fabricland and it was only 75p a metre! Its almost like paper but much much stronger as it doesn't tear and it also doesn't fray. I simply cut out the same cape shape, attached some velcro and it was a cape ready to go!"

But she doesn't know the name of the material! She melted it to her iron, so I assume it's a plastic type material but both of my local fabric shops have told me they have no idea what I am talking about! Do you know what it is? Could be a type of kite making fabric?

I know I could use felt, but is that not a bit heavy for August? Am I thinking too much about it?

Ripstop nylon, I would imagine (yes, same stuff they make kites from) but I doubt that you will find it that cheap - £5.20 per metre is the cheapest I can find.

Would you let it dry with the details on or thinking it'll be errm "smooshable"once the details have been copied down?

I was going for letting it dry. I bet some will still get broken, but pretty much everyone has my phone number nowadays.

Rather than slabs can you make a hanging decoration so you can hold them on ribbon to distribute and the child can keep them if they want? Or do you want the rustic charm of an unadulterated slab?

Not sure. I don't want it too refined, as it needs to make it clear that it is pottery making, not pottery painting. I need to have a play, I think.

I hope you're not posting them - air dry clay is heavy!

I know it's early but I think I may have found my inspiration for DD's birthday party - here I love the cake and the helium balloon dragons.

. There are a couple of 'remote' ones, but I can email photos of their invitations instead. Most will be hand-delivered at school.

I found that blog for DD's dragon party but didn't manage to do the fab paper dragons. I have 2 dragon tails and wings and a giant chinese dragon kite you can borrow, though.
