Present ideas for 2yo Nursery Friend Party?

DS has been invited to a party to celebrate one of his nursery friends, a 2yo girl. Any present ideas, what is the going rate for gifts? I haven't got a scooby!!

If you have an M&D outlet store anywhere near you I just bought DD (nearly 2) a little red bag full of wooden farm animals for a fiver but looks much more. She loves it.

I spent about £5 on friend's birthdays. It gets too expensive otherwise. There are plenty of books you could get for that budget (i just bought http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/0340970499/ref=mp_s_a_1?qid=1341667899&sr=8-1 this for my niece's 2nd birthday).

Otherwise crayons or felt pens or playdough are a fairly safe bet.
