...can I take the liberty of starting another thread, since the other one filled up?

Put orange in mine. All of it. So i get one enormous choc orange pizza!!

Blatherskite · 27/01/2012 18:49

I've seen a lot of choc pizzas for sale with Jelly Beans in but I get what you mean. Maybe Smarties instead? With white chocolate shavings etc etc....:)

Blatherskite · 29/01/2012 14:44

Hoorah, managed to get 10 paper bags from ebay for £1.66 and free postage! That's probably less than it would have cost to post Stealth's bags :)

Sticker books ordered too.

Party not until march Blush

stealthsquiggle · 29/01/2012 15:48

March will sneak up on you before you know it!

Blathers do you think you should make DH wear this? (I am in the US in a couple of weeks time and could get it shipped to me....[evil cackle])

Tinkerisdead · 29/01/2012 16:54

Blimey blathers what a bargain!!! Lol at that costume. Please get one!!!

Blatherskite · 29/01/2012 20:22

Ha ha, that would be so funny. He'd never wear it though Sad

Blatherskite · 30/01/2012 13:35

I've ordered the aprons and badges now too. Might as well get everything ready while I'm on a roll.

Tinkerisdead · 30/01/2012 17:23

Too right makes for less stress later. My party bags were ready ages in advance. Ive had my pre-med chat thing today sat at hospital for houuurs. Come home and ive got mega period pains now. Sods law if i have to go back after having sat there for three hours!!

Blatherskite · 30/01/2012 18:32

Gah! Approved the proofs for the invites this morning and now DH wants to move the party to a different PE! Still, if we can get the party cheaper at the other one, it might be worth the £5 to have them reprinted.

Blatherskite · 30/01/2012 18:33

Ooh, exciting DW. Hope baby is here soon!

Tinkerisdead · 30/01/2012 18:46

Me too. Fed up now.

Will the party really be cheaper by changing branches?

Blatherskite · 30/01/2012 20:31

Possibly. DH's friend works there and he may be able to get us a discount.

I've been trying to decide what to do about the cake. I'm imagining some sort of plain sponge which will hopefully look like a pizza crust, spread with red frosting for the tomato sauce and then topped with sugarpaste toppings. DS has the Soft Stuff pizza making set from ELC which has moulds for making mushrooms, tomato slices - and pineapple chunks but I won't be using them as pineapple on pizza is vile! Wink - so all I need to make is the cheese. I'm wondering how successfully sugar paste would grate? Could I part freeze it then grate it like you do for butter in pastry do you think?

DS has actually asked for a LEGO cake! It doesn't fit with the theme though so I'm over-ruling him :) I'll make some lego block cakes for our legoland picnic on the following weekend.

Tinkerisdead · 30/01/2012 20:47

Yeah sugarpaste should grate, you do that to make mud etc with a fine grater. I shouldnt think it'd need freezing just chilled im sure. Stealth will know...come on stealth!! Cant wait to see pizza cake. Have you googled any cake images that you like etc?

Blatherskite · 30/01/2012 21:02

That's the cheese sorted then.

There are loads of pizza cakes! I'm pinching ideas as we speak :)

For a start, I'm going to ask DH's friend to pinch me a pizza box to serve the cake in!

I was thinking of getting red checked napkins to wrap the slices of cake in before I put them in the party bags but it occurred to me that I could just pinch some from PE for a more authentic less hassle and cheaper option.

Blatherskite · 30/01/2012 21:02

Oooh, some people have used grated white chocolate for cheese rather than sugarpaste...

girliefriend · 30/01/2012 21:03

Right was thinking about a craft table where they could decorate party hats and do plate faces!! Also about a friend doing some of those kids tattoos and poss hair braids for the girls that want them?

What do I need for biscuit decorating sorry if I am being thick ??

Also I am still waiting to hear back from 7 children as to whether they can come, in hindsite I put the rsvp a bit to soon to the party (a week before) but in your experience how many parents leave it till the very last min to reply?

Blatherskite · 30/01/2012 21:03

It can then be melted to look more cheese-like

stealthsquiggle · 30/01/2012 21:40

Blathers, you could melt sugarpaste too! I was going to reply earlier - DM very successfully did grated sugarpaste (fridge cold) and then grilled it - or you could melt it with a steam cleaner.

Girliefriend - will reply when next on PC and not stuck in horrible pointless groundhog day meeting like I have been all bloody day

Ooo im off to google pizza cakes then. Pains went off now my back kills. Full on period pains in my back. Wish i could feel a true contraction and start the ball rolling.

Blatherskite · 30/01/2012 21:51

Sounds like things might be happening soon!!

stealthsquiggle · 30/01/2012 22:05

oooh, I don't think that baby is planning on waiting for it's planned arrival date you know, DrsW... there are 100's of pizza cakes on flickr - I like this one.

OP posts:
stealthsquiggle · 30/01/2012 22:09

girliefriend - RSVP's - get your DC to chase and use pester power (if you are feeling particularly evil, you could get them to say "if your Mummy doesn't tell my Mummy if you can come, there won't be a party bag for you" - no one will believe it came from you and you may get a sudden rush of replies not that I would ever do that, you understand )

Hair braiding / tatoos sound good. If a queue starts to develop, taking names on a list works to stop them all hanging around.

Blathers is the expert on biscuit decorating Grin.

Well i'm still here. Without turning this into a labour thread, im either in niggly mild early labour or i've got a water infection. My back kills and i've got mild pain on tightenings but also burns when i wee now!! I'll get dd to playschool and call the midwife. Totally fed up. I never had this with dd. She was 11 days late and bang 4am contractions and no mistake. This is worse cos of having a date, then not wanting to waste anyones time especially around childcare. Anyway rant over.

That pizza cake is really good, are you planning on all sugarpaste for the toppings? Fruit rollups make great pepperoni but cant think of similar.

stealthsquiggle · 31/01/2012 08:49

I shall add Blathers' moulds for mushrooms, tomatoes, etc to the list of party resources I am jealous of may one day need to borrow.

DrsW - hope it goes OK with the midwife. I can't help, as DS was 2 weeks late and eventually had to be induced and then hoiked out through EMCS anyway, and DD obligingly waited for her arranged date...
