How close are your childrens bdays

Planning on number three, I didn't want the bdays to be near dd or ds. But then last night I had a brainwvae and thought if I started trying now there wqould be near enough exactley two years between ds and db so we could do joint bday parties.... saves all the hassle in the future of only having to do two and not three...
or am I being unrealistic, selfish etc....

The other issue for me is that i don't want to get out of baby mode again before i have another one...

I had completley forgotton about some stages... I am remembering fast though.... having ds was like having my first all over again.

We are in almost exactly the same situatioin as trefusis, just over 2 weeks between the birthdays, the children are just under 3 years apart, the birthdays are close to Christmas, but they are both boys. ds2 is only 8 months old though so this will be our first year of having joint parties and I am still wondering what to do with a 1 y.o and a 4 y.o.!

TwoIfBySea · 05/08/2005 20:20

Luckylady my dst don't get a choice but to share their birthday. We aren't yet at the party stage but I wonder if they will grumble about it when they are older.

luckylady · 05/08/2005 20:22

Thats why i thought of trying now then it would only be a two year gap as to be honest I wouldn't give a child a bday party until they were two or threee anyway, so 2 and four wouldn't be that bad would it!!

This is my problem i think about things too much insteard of just going with th eflow....

My due date for no. 2 is dd's birthday.

It's like we only do it once a year.

OP posts:
charliecat · 05/08/2005 20:42

3 years between them!

swedishmum · 05/08/2005 20:48

Dd1 19/12. Dd2 and her twin were due 15/12 2 years later but were induced as twin 2 had a heart condition which meant she lived only 24 hrs and she was in distress. Ds was due on dd2's 1st birthday but we asked to have him induced as we didn't want him born on anniversary of our babt's death. Therefore 1 year less 8 days between 2 and 3.

No 4 born in Jan but 2 weeks late therefore due late december. We obviously have a fun week in about March....

Wallace · 05/08/2005 21:01

just under 2 weeks between ds' and dd's birthdays

nutcracker · 05/08/2005 21:03

My kids birthdays are 11/11, 06/12 and 12/12.

Melpomene · 05/08/2005 21:15

5 days

We also aimed for a two-year gap. DD1 had a due date of 17 April, but was born on 25 April. DD2 also had a due date of 17 April, and was born on 20 April.

I was a bit worried as dd2's birth approached, because I didn't want to be in hospital on dd1's birthday. I had an emergency cs, but got out in time for dd1's birthday party. (Thankfully the party was organised by my parents.)

Planning a joint party for next year, when they will be 3 and 1.

nutcracker · 05/08/2005 21:34

When Dd2 was 3 I was in hospital having Ds and so we moved her birthday from the the thursday to the Saturday. Everyone was sworn to secrecy, even the midwives, and she still doesn't know we did it now, and shes 5.
